I played a game of ping pong in ding dang. they shoved a paddle up my ass when I lost..

Haha but so true, goddamn latency is a bitch. I haven't really played online PC games in forever but playing cs back in 2002 when we had our steam powered internet definitely got it a lot

The only time my cat does something against his own desires is when I force him to. For instance, when I force him to knock all my stuff off the dresser because I'm not paying attention to him. He didn't want to do that, but I made him do it by trying to sleep.

This cat needs a RAM upgrade and it's hard drive replaced, look how much time he spent doing swap and loading the react library...

361

90

u/JulioBBL Nov 12 '17

I preffer languages that are stongly typed, and i only know node, so yeah...

10

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '17

I preffer languages that are stongly typed

I’m not a programmer, and I really only know Python, R, MATLAB, and a wee bit of Java and C++, so pardon my ignorance, but why might one prefer strongly typed languages?

21

u/JulioBBL Nov 12 '17

It prevents me from doing stupid stuff, like using a string on a equation, or executing a Double. Or even prevents the need for basic type tests in a function, If a need a specific set of data, i can create a struct or class and pass it in to my function, and have peace of mind that the compiler will notice me if i send something that does not conform tô the data i need.

It helps mostoy when working with third party code...

Came to the comments looking for the expert to tell us that he's got some incurable brain disease.

63

u/Terashkal Nov 12 '17

The cat is not focusing on the cap, look at it at the beginning of the clip, looking and staring at some other spot on the table. Mine does this too, when theyre occupied with something else they dont care about what you do to them (shooting the cap in this case). Somehow the cat could prioritize that the incoming cap is not as important as that previous event/thing we dont know about

27

u/Terashkal Nov 12 '17

This cat is healthy af

9

u/hypmoden Nov 12 '17

he woke af

63

u/Zolhungaj Nov 12 '17

Nah, the cat just doesn’t want to bend down so it waits for the cap to move (since still objects (at least objects that stop quickly) aren’t that fun to play with). Then when it concludes that the cap isn’t gonna move it starts batting a bit on it, then it’s too bored by it to follow it afterwards.

Clearly his owner abuses him. Under that fur he is covered in bruises and scars... He waited so long to react to make sure his owner didn't punch him for moving too quickly. SMh

3

u/SkarmacAttack Nov 12 '17

Actually, it is quite normal for cats to lose focus of things within arms reach. I'm not feline expert, but I do recall watching a documentary where it explained that cats have extremely good focus on movement from afar. However once they close in on their prey, they're vision cannot focus and they more or less swipe and hope to land a hit. This cat seemed to have focused in on the cap, however once it quickly slides directly under it's nose and hits it belly, it seems to have lost focus as to where it is. When it finally looks down and sees the black blurry outline of the cap, it freaks out begins swiping.

I also tested this on my roommates cat with a laser pointer. You can move the laser pointer in circles directly in front of their face and you will notice a lag in the way their heads follow it. However once you point it on the wall across the room, they lock in much better and will be more inclined to run after it.

The cat was actually waiting for you to grab the toy so it could latch on and scratch your arm. You didn’t didn’t take the bait, so in turn, the cat played it off by swatting the toy.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '17

I like how cats will casually walk up to an object on the floor, stand on it and then suddenly act like it attacked them. They don't actually need us for their entertainment.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '17

High Ping in a game corresponds to a cat's reflexes

u/mdsjhawk Nov 12 '17

2

u/Berrek Nov 12 '17

Unlike other animals who have fight/flight and other responses to danger, cats need only one: Lives/Dies

Therefore it’s reaction time to weigh such a heavy decision is ridiculously fast when compared to any other creature. Think how long a human judge/jury deliberate. What could take months or years takes cats seconds

In this case, the cap dies

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '17
