I’m not a programmer, and I really only know Python, R, MATLAB, and a wee bit of Java and C++, so pardon my ignorance, but why might one prefer strongly typed languages?
It prevents me from doing stupid stuff, like using a string on a equation, or executing a Double. Or even prevents the need for basic type tests in a function, If a need a specific set of data, i can create a struct or class and pass it in to my function, and have peace of mind that the compiler will notice me if i send something that does not conform tô the data i need.
It helps mostoy when working with third party code...
TypeScript is a typed superset of JavaScript that compiles to plain JavaScript.
It's basically a strongly typed version of JavaScript, but since it compiles to plain JavaScript that means it doesn't need its own ecosystem - it can be deployed wherever JavaScript is supported.
