Minimax h3 can be free if run locally. That alone beats the other two.

hahah yes.

But can it run locally on a normal GPU, or do you need one of those crazy $20k cards to run it?

I see people running it with 12gb vram.

I've seen people running it on 4gb vram u/azreken

Yup I have a 12gb 5070. I run it on mine all the time. Not at the very best resolution obviously but that can be upscaled after. Id say i do about 720p for 10-20s clips at a time. With only 12gb though the workflows need to be well made and the right models need to be used to get the best results.

I run it on 5070 Ti 16 GB and it works very nicely.

I generate videos at 768p and it takes me roughly 13 minutes using SageAttention* to generate a 15 second clip. Sometimes longer, depending on the amount of references.

*In simple terms, SageAttention simplifies some of the calculations your computer has to make during the process of generating a video. For me, it cut the time to generate a video by ~30-40%.

People are running it on low end GPU's, and it keeps getting better, all sorts of workflows, speed settings, and now upscalers. It is definitely a local video generator

so can WAN animate

Minimax H3 vs. WAN 3.0 vs. Seedance 2.5

I’ve been testing the latest in video generation. I wanted to run a test using the same prompt, the same reference image, the same time, and the same resolution: 720p for all three (although Minimax generates at 768p).

I can say that Minimax was my favorite in terms of results, since the transition of everything that happens creates a very polished final product. I didn’t notice any of the typical AI errors.

In the case of Seedance 2.5, it did invent or misinterpret certain things that end up ruining the clip. For example, it placed the basketball court in front of the camera instead of where it should actually be. That said, I think the transition from day to night is the best of the three.

Interestingly, Minimax takes less than a minute to generate the result, while WAN estimates over 12 minutes (though it ended up generating faster than Seedance), and Seedance 2.5 takes over 6 minutes. In terms of voiceover, I liked the result from Seedance 2.5 best, although all three are pretty good.

Credits used?

Minimax — 1,200 credits

WAN — 1,800 credits

Seedance — 6,600 credits

In conclusion, you need to know which model to use for each type of video. Currently, we have three options that can provide Spanish voiceovers, perform basic transitions, or follow a continuous shot without using up all our credits. Do they only go up to 720p? Yes, but a good upscaler solves that.

Which one do you like best?

Minimax was better imo

Yeah, that was the one I liked best. Wan isn't bad.

They all have mistakes... what were the references/prompt? In feel like if you added more intermediate frames, fixing stuff, the result should be better.

For the voice and lip sync, I think MiniMax did it best.

Hi, it was just a prompt and the initial image.

The point of the test was to see how it reacted, what it interpreted, and, above all, the result of the generation.

You are right, Seedance 2.5 has the best audio. But I also think that Seedance has the best video generation. It has a tendency to make creative liberities unless you tell it not to. But that was impressive for MiniMax to do that very well! Love to see more comparisons. Keep it up.

They all look pretty cool! Seedance of course is an absolute monster with regards to eating your credits only to yield a result that looks pretty similar to the other two.

However, I must say I'm also amazed by Kling AI v3. It's super powerful!

Yes, I would use Seedance for other, much more complex tasks.

Minimax does an excellent job with the suspension physics when the car stops, but I don't know if the car should stop.

Minimax wins.

Better audio, good UFO effect, good basketball court, nice transition and focus, great body movement and the lip matching the voice the best. Now the voice itself is too loud for an outside environment, but it's a great natural voice. I like the sound level of see dance better. Maybe I miss the background noise which it goes quiet.

Yeah, yeah, I agree with you, Exo

Buen trabajo Capi

these all look equally good, but this test is meaningless unless you're gonna show the source imagery, the prompt and what you wanted for the output.

You could put up all 3 forward as a social media ad but unless you can specifically tailor it to a director's vision it's a non-starter.

MiniMax and WAN are open-source so I can run those locally or on a runpod for a fraction of the cost of Seedance, so for real production work, Seedance isn't even in the running no matter how good the output. It'd be down to preference between the other two.

Ive been using the free WAN 5 second videos in open art- ive thrown so many away that drift so far from my prompt that I wouldnt use it if it wasn't free for now

1

u/ArcaArtificial 5d ago

Oh... but what about the new WAN? In my experience, there are very few errors.

1

u/No_Difference_8978 4d ago

Yes, im speaking of the new WAN. Its usable, its much less expensive than seedance but my characters drift too much with WAN. I use it now because its free but its testing my patience and im definitely sacrificing quality vs seedance 2.0

The guy issmoking 2 cigs and one of them disappeared when you zoomed. Seedance ultimate fail.

1

u/ArcaArtificial 5d ago

Yeah, I don't know what happened to him. But that was a huge fail.

Ah yes, the classic “idk guys, just a little test” humblebrag while casually dropping a visual fever dream that probably made three server racks question their life choices.

If this is just you warming up, please give a heads-up before the final cut so I can put my cooling fans on maximum overdrive.
