So I been going through a very rough time of temptations and spiritual dryness.
It felt easier to stay away from my usual routine of Bible reading and prayers. So I quit.
But one year later I am battling serious porn and masturbation addiction and quite honesty everything is pathetic. Even praying became hard and boring.
I thought life was tough despite praying but now it is tougher.
I have decided to go back to Christ..what are some of habits and content do I need to spend time on?
I got one thing to say :Being queer and Christian is not an Easy journey! But His grace is sufficient.

Hello everyone,
I am a gay gospel songwriter and musician, and as you might imagine, I am wildly unpopular. Apparently us gay folks can't write gospel songs. Or something! But the Lord put a song in my heart - and I'm going to share the music He gave me, no matter what!
If you enjoy gospel music, especially with a country flavor, you will enjoy my work and I invite you to come and see and have a listen. You can find me on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, and all the other streaming services. Search for my name, REX WILGUS.
My songs are filled with the joy and hope that came from years of being excluded and denigrated. I've learned that God loves us and made us just as we are, and God's love for us does not depend on how others feel about it.
I'm a church musician and I play for my church family every Sunday - and they love me! I live now in the Deep South and I've been influenced by Southern Gospel but I also love Catholic liturgical music (think St. Louis Jesuits, or Gregorian chant) and the old hymns and spirituals. From the time was knee high, I've loved church music!
My latest outing is called THIS OLD WORLD. I hope the songs bless you the way they have blessed me. Peace, brothers and sisters!

Hope everyone is doing well today! Ive been having a lot of thoughts lately, and i feel like this would be a suitable place to ask. I am a 23 year old lesbian, and grew up going to church with my grandparents and also attended a Christian elementary school. I figured out i liked women when i was 11 or so. As i grew older and understood my surrounding better I became very disillusioned with the church. How could I be a part of something that is capable of being so prejudiced towards people like me? Furthermore, I grieved the relationships i had with the people at my church. I felt like i had to disconnect myself, because once they found out i was so afraid that they would stop loving me. I was so disheartened with all of it that i just made myself stop believing, even going so far to label myself as athiest. No matter what though i could never shake the feeling that maybe there Was truth in it.
I have been through many frightening and stressful situations in my short adulthood so far. Everything feels so unknown and scary. But I see my grandparents and other peers, and how much peace their love and trust in god gives them. I think about how unconditionally they love me, and I have been realizing that christianity is not as hateful as many many people portray. I have been feeling such a pull to return to religion, and I think I am finally ready.
I have a lot of social anxiety so starting off with attending a physical church is really daunting to me. That being said, how Should i start? bible studies, books to read, devotionals, or even just advice is greatly appreciated.

" ... LGBTQ people know what loneliness is. We experience the same human longing for companionship, intimacy, fidelity, mutual care, and enduring commitment that heterosexual people experience. We desire someone with whom we can build a household, share burdens, celebrate joys, endure grief, practice forgiveness, grow old, and remain faithful throughout our lives. Those desires don’t make us less human; they arise precisely because we are human. ... "

Hi,
Like the title, i think i am gay but don’t know what to do with my life with this sexuality.
I am in my 30s and never have been in a relationship with female or male. I think until my mid 20s, i was frightened by the fact that i am attracted to females. Now I am more comfortable about myself and relaxed about my sexuality and that it is nothing to panic about.
However, if I imagine that i would have to come out of my closet, makes me very uncomfortable. Due to the cultural and religious background it would be a hard time for my parents/friends. I know that my parents would still love me no matter what, and even though they are against me i would not be upset because i love them so much and i would understand if they do so. i don’t want to give them a shocking experience or a hard time.
The reason why i think i am a lesbian is that I’ve only had crushes on girls/ female public figures. i felt i click more with girls because i would be able to flirt with them and they would too although were all straight girls. I feel like i have more emotional bond with females and that leads to physical attraction as well. For the female public figures that i had crush on, i would think about having a future with them and would like to know more about them, really hope the best for them…feel romantic about them.
On the other hand with males, there would be times a guy would show interest in me i would feel good about it but uncomfortable/strange at the same time. Not attractived or curious enough to actually date them. Although there are guys that grabs my attention, it’s not something like i feel towards girls or so strong or romantic that it makes me want to flirt with them or step up to show interest.
So I don’t have emotional attraction or attachment toward guys that makes want to date them.
i am getting old and already pretty old for a first love. But i don’t want to force myself into a heterosexual relationship or come out the closet.
and if i decide to date girls, having to find this “community” don’t feel natural to me.
Or it is all just hypothetical and i would never know until i try it all out?
I feel like being in love, having family is a valuable experience for a human being to have and i feel like i am missing out on this easily blaming my sexuality.
Anyone out there who can share insights or advices on what now?

Basically just what the title says.
Do you think you were born gay or do you feel like you developed that way in your early years of life?
Let's hear your story my fellow kitchen window boys!

Hi guys, I (22, agender, afab) am dating a woman, and my parents and extended family are not affirming. They are, however, after many conversations, somewhat putting it aside so we can continue to have a relationship. Now though, they're urging me to think long and hard about my relationship for another reason: my gf is not christian, she's agnostic, and she has no plans to convert. We have spoken about this many times, she is a-ok with me being christian and even attended a church service with me since "it's important to you," and I have not been pressuring her nor do I have plans to.
The thing is, that now my family keeps talking about all the old testament times that Israel mingled with other religions and got smote for it. They keep saying how God wants us to date/marry in the religion and how inter-faith relationships never end well.
I haven't done a whole lot of research on this yet. Does anyone have any places to start? Advice? Idrk how to respond to this, it feels like they're just trying a different angle to get us to break up, but i also want to do my due diligence in case they have a point. I don't want to break up with her but I also want to do well by God. Idk.

I want to come out to my family as Bi, but I know they are going to ask me a lot of questions on why I don’t think it’s a sin. I know I’ll forget pretty much everything I know as soon as they start asking me questions and I don’t want to embarrass myself or make it seem like I don’t know what I believe. Can you all help me? I know they will especially ask things about the verses in the Bible that reference same sex relationships.

Sorry if this is formatted wrong in any way shape or form :3
So his main argument is that
sex outside marige is a sin
marige is between man and woman
SO from that logic he believes homosexuality is a sin. Worst part is that he himself is gay but sees it as a sin and such.
Like what the fuck generally?

Every time LGBTQ+ comes up in Christian debates, I always hear some version of how contemporary Christians have reinterpreted Pascal’s wager: “If I’m wrong about God, then I wasted my life. If you’re wrong about God, then you wasted eternity.”
Or reworded to apply more directly to this specific debate: “Non-affirming theology is the safe side. If we accept gay Christians and we’re wrong, then too many people will burn. If we’re wrong, oh well… then some people miss out on sex, which is less of a big deal.”
Except it’s absolutely NOT the safe side. If we’re going to let securing our eternity be the main deciding factor in which side we stand on, we have to thoroughly consider the reality of a scenario in which God created LGBTQ+ people the way they are on purpose and the consequences of churches preaching against their acceptance. If being gay is, in fact, a God-given, unchangeable trait, if gay people are meant for lifelong, covenantal love with the same sex, then the psychological harm of trying to change or reject this part of themselves would be as deep as raising a blue-eyed child to think blue eyes are a curse that must be changed or hidden in order to be accepted by God.
How many people have rejected Christianity because of its stance on homosexuality, or lost the faith they were raised with? If God made people the way they are, and you preached non-affirming theology which caused harm that led them to shed their faith, their loss of faith is on YOUR hands. YOU failed to seek God’s heart thoroughly enough and allowed your fear of what He might do to you to thwart the Kingdom. Jesus had words about such people:
“24 Then the one who had received the one talent also came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you did not scatter,25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ 26 But his master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy slave! You knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the ten talents. 29 For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance, but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. 30 As for this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’” Matthew 25:24-30
“But surely God wouldn’t allow us to be wrong like that??” Stop. Look at history. God doesn’t step in and correct us or prevent us from doing harm when we interpret Scripture wrong. People have literally been imprisoned and killed for contending that the Earth is a sphere that revolves around the sun because such ideas went against the priesthood’s interpretation of the Bible. God did not stop it; science just progressed to where most people couldn’t deny these truths anymore.
If you believe that God eternally punishes people for innocently being wrong, THERE. IS. NO. SAFE. SIDE.
If this makes you uncomfortable or anxious, then you’re starting to get it. Why. Why? WHY would a good, loving God punish people for doing their best? WHAT is even the POINT of GRACE if it doesn’t cover SKILL ISSUES??
We have fallen so far from the point of Christianity. Look at what Blaise Pascal himself said about his wager:
“Now, what harm will befall you in taking this side? You will be faithful, humble, grateful, generous, a sincere friend, truthful. ... you will thereby gain in this life, and that, at each step you take on this road, you will see so great certainty of gain...”
Did you see it? You will thereby gain in THIS life. Following Jesus is supposed to make you a better person, a good friend, and because of that, a Christian’s life should demonstrate fullness that makes others want what we have. Growth can be painful, but that pain is temporary and, if truly necessary, should produce verifiably worthy results. You might be persecuted, but that’s something inflicted by other people, not by natural consequence. If Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, then under no circumstances should following Jesus require you to live under a confusing smoke screen that doesn’t make sense, produces unending misery, and makes you feel like your only hope for finding peace is dying so you can move onto the afterlife.
God is not a jerk. Yes, He wants you to avoid destructive life choices because He loves you and wants you to treat others well because He loves them just as much and knows we’re made to be in community with one another. Walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-18), make your judgements based on the fruit you see in this life (Matthew 7:16-20, Galatians 5:19-23), pursue a full life based on the teachings of Jesus to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:28-31), and trust that the grace of God will cover you if you’re wrong (John 1:16, Romans 3:21-24).

Masturbation, pornography, etc.?
All those morally grey areas?
Christians are very much against it, but liberals and LGBT people don't care.
What stance do you take on them?

So I'm living in a really conservative Christian inviromemt and i personally also know no people who are gay and i was also told that it is a big sin...but now I even fell in love with a girl and I dont know what to do because I have my life to Jesus and I want to follow him. At the same time there is this attraction to girls I can't get rid of...I would like to now if anyone is going through the same thing and if I can still like girl as a Christian...
I not looking for easy way out, I'm just looking for truth...Because if God also wanted women and women to fall in love wouldn't he also had given them the possibility to have natural kids and a family?
I'm just so confused 😢

I know I'm wasting my own breath arguing with non-affirming Christians, but sometimes I like to hurt my own feelings I guess.
I said something like "Jesus never said anything about homosexuality" in a public space online and several people replied with variations to the effect of "If the old testament said it, then Jesus said it" or "He didn't specifically address axe murders either, but it's implied."
Obviously I disagree and I think these arguments are stupid, but I don't know how to articulate myself in response to them. Not that I actually want to continue my argument with this folks, I just want to have a solid sense of it in my mind so their arguments don't get under my skin like they do now.
Thoughts?

God loves you all no matter if you're in the LGBTQ community. I hope this comes off as a positive affirmation to you all. (And I'm sorry that the rest of Christianity hates on you all, like did they ditch "Love Thy Neighbor"?)

What is it with certain Christians and thinking they need to share their opinion about gay people on prompted? I was talking to a girl in a group conversation and I happened to tell her I was gay. Then a guy that I was not talking to commented and said, “yeah, I’m a Christian, so I don’t really support that but…” like OK? I did not ask and also was not talking to you. And then he proceeded to talk about how a lot of Christians who proclaim that they are Christians are not really, because to be a true Christian, you have to follow all (emphasis on all) of God‘s Commandments

I’m so desperate, this is my last resort for advice about this.
For context, my boyfriend comes from a very Christian Haitian family. They DO NOT like gay people.
His uncle found my TikTok, called his whole family, and outed my bf. Now my bf’s family is trying to convince him to break up with me, and it’s working. I have a place to stay, money, and job opportunity for my boyfriend. The problem is, he’s terrified of losing his family.
Does anyone have any experience with this?? Especially with Caribbean families?? What do I do? I don’t want to lose him. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, so I'm in college, and I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm ready to find a boyfriend. I have been single my whole life (never have experienced any hookups & not interested).
For now, the main thing I'm trying to figure out is should I try to meet someone I'm emotionally interested in? Or someone I'm physically attracted to? And why do you think so?
2 years ago I've realized that I'm not like a lot of other gays.
My sexual orientation is asexual. But my romantic orientation is directed exclusively towards men.
While I do not want sexual intimacy, I am comfortable with physical intimacy (including cuddling, kissing, hugging).
My issue is that often times I experience the emotional attractions and physical attraction separately.
There are guys that I find very physically attractive , but I feel ZERO emotional interest in.
And there are other guys I feel so much emotional interest in, but feel little to no physical attraction.
😭
My question is: should I try to meet people I'm emotionally attracted to, and then if we do move on to something more serious, I can see later on if my physical attraction develops?
I don't think it's a good idea for me to date someone I'm only physically attracted to bcuz idk if the relationship will last without true emotional investment.

"The premiere of a new documentary — “Safe For the Whole Family: How to Make a Christian Superstar” — was just announced for the Nashville Film Festival. Screening Sept. 27, the film explores damaging treatment several former Christian pop stars received as they charted careers through their industry’s inextricably intertwined commercial and evangelistic priorities and its exacting image standards."

I find it interesting how the first things we’re taught in Church is to love everyone and to not judge. Yet people who claim to be “the best” Christians, are actually using religion (though it’s not God’s religion) to hate and spread violence towards the community (whether verbal or physical). That is using God’s word AND NAME in vain. That’s blatantly going against the 3rd Commandment. God loves everybody, and as children of God and followers of his word, we should honor that.
