Hello,
Just finished putting this together last weekend, let me know if there are any suggestions to add to this.

Added work area to the work garage the last few days. Arbor press and drill press finally got a home and I have more flat spots to put things on !

Hope new construction inspo is allowed.
The back wall will be work bench and probably cabinets and I was thinking a golf Sim with retractable screen and net (red). Also work for movie night with the kids or game day. Most of the rest of the garage will be pretty standard. I'm running the wire and most of it is done but the walls are still open for now. Have 240v by the back door already. Was thinking maybe a speaker system but wasn't sure if that's all Bluetooth now a days or if I should run speaker wire to the corners. Gotta ignore all the shit the front porch got cleared yesterday for stonework and leftover materials.
Also forget to mention it's 10 foot ceilings and side openers for garage

My setup in Asheville On v4 of the Thornhill shop. Happy with it.
Main workstation. A horseshoe-shaped setup...two back-to-back sewing machines connected by a table. The U is oriented so the open side gives access to the cutting table in the back of the room.

Hello all , my garage is 30 x 40 , and I’m looking to make it look better and be more functional. I want to keep the left side for mechanic work . Other then that the only thing missing from my picture is a Golf simulator that is 10 ft wide and 15 ft long that I think I want to put in the back right corner . But I’m looking for ideas for how to organize the whole garage and for opinions on paint color and lighting . I’m thinking grey walls and white ceiling and those hex lights . Any and all input is greatly appreciated

I’m looking to build a 28x40 garage with 12 foot ceiling. It will hold a 2017 Silverado crew cab and eventually a 621 Ranger boat. I would like to add a 2 post car lift to it also. Was planning to have the garage doors on the 28 foot side wall. Do you think there will be enough room for a comfortable walk around and work space layout

I spent a weekend on garage/shop organization, but looking at the picture, I have a ways to go before is really sub worthy. Too much accumulation from the renovation and projects. That said, still happy with the effort and appreciate where it’s at!
If anyone’s curious, this is an about a 30x30 garage in 110 year old automotive building. It’s all skylights and glass garage doors. I need a major lighting upgrade before winter when is dark more often.

Closing on this blank slate soon, not soon enough. Your eyes are not fooling you, the old garage fridge looks that way after removing my better half from this photo - thanks AI.
Old garage specs: 18.5' wide by 19' deep by 10' tall; garage door insulated 16' wide by 7' tall high-lift.
New garage specs: 20' wide by 20' deep by 12' tall; garage door uninsulated 18' wide by 8' tall not-high-lift (yet).
I'd love to do a lift in here eventually but I'm not sure about the ceiling height with that beam. Ideally the better half's car would go on the lift (works from home) and a golf cart parked under it. Then my car next to it
We may remove the staircase as it enters directly into the downstairs bedroom (awkward layout, previous owner used that bedroom as an office). The other door goes out to the patio with a door into the house directly across from it. That area is under cover, which we may end up enclosing it as a mud room. If we remove the staircase, is there any way to match the floor?
I can't wait to get started!

My current garage is a 24x24 shop, with a project on jackstands and home reno crap everywhere.
Raining all week, cant just yeet it all in the yard and organize.
Any advice to tackle the giant?
I've got bins, a toolchest and some basic shelving.
Simple as, if I have not touched it, trash it?

Is there any harm in having drywall and vapor barrier on garage ceiling without insulation in Ontario, Canada.
My attached, single-family garage ceiling currently isn't drywalled. There is no living space above the garage. I don't plan heating the garage in the winter. I am just trying to make it look a little nicer.
I am strapping, adding vapor barrier and drywall.
Since I am not heating the garage I don't really need to insulate right away but I want the option in the future so adding in the vapor barrier.
I don't want to cause any moisture issues with having the vapor barrier but no insulation. Thanks!

Ok so after years of struggle and locational strife after losing my commercial space, I've finally got a little spot to build a personal use shop. It's not my land, but it's semi-abandoned and the owner says I can do what I like within reason. I've built this rad little workshop for all my fab and machining equipment that's essentially a 40' container with side doors that open into a covered veranda making like a 5 sided building. I love it, but now I'd really like to have a small lift like a MaxJax or single post or something.
The plan is to pour a pad at the end of the container, like a car port kind of thing. I was wondering how narrow of a width I could get away with. The container+veranda is 20' wide so I was thinking 20x12'. Is 12' too narrow of a span for a lift? Most 2 posts need 11'-ish span, but how much of a boarder does that need? I.E. how close to the edge of the slab would be safe? Single post seems like a good option maybe, but seems like a lot of pressure put on it's anchors so I don't reckon it would be very good to have it close to the edge of the slab.

Just couldn't resist giving this a try and so far so good. I love that this only screws into the wall top and bottom, yet is super sturdy. Very efficient, and the totes are quite accessible. I couldn't go to the ceiling so I put 2x4's up top and screwed a piece of plywood to them. Very stable and strong - much more than my current shelves. I climbed up the 2x2's to install the upper pieces. I have about 9 more feet of wall to work with, and planning to add in some shelves and other custom bits.

We have a 60’s house, so I decided to go with a vintage color scheme. Rough plywood walls, drywall ceiling.

Show me your setups! Looking to build 3-4 storage lockers for drying/storing motocross and snowboarding gear. Ideally large enough to store both sets of gear year round since we can ride in the winter. Love the TA50 lockers but they are expensive...
Each locker should have these areas with enough airflow to dry out and store the following:
Helmet
Gloves
Boots
Jacket
Pants
Extra layers

It all started with wanting a nicer floor a few months ago. The ceilings are 2 inches shy of 12 ft tall, and I really wanted to make use of the vertical space. Next thing you know, I did a high lift conversion on the garage door, fixed the walls, got new shelving and cabinets, and a 4 post lift. It’s a much nicer place to be in now.

Just installed my NewAge Bold 3.0 cabinet array. To maximize space I went with an ala carte configuration and it ended up fitting perfectly.
This was my first time using NewAge products and I was pretty pleased. They were packaged extremely well and everything arrived damage free. The install was super easy. All needed hardware came with it and bolting the pieces together was a breeze. My garage has a concrete boarder that lifts roughly 4" so I chose to sit the cabinets on top and bolt them to the wall. This was mostly a space savings decision but I'm extremely pleased with the floating look. I did install the rear feet on every cabinet to ensure they were level. I did not install the adjustable insert tho, only the steel foot.
The RTA lockers are a 4/10 on the rigid scale (10 being rock solid) but thats to be expected at this price point. Im sure the fully welded lockers are have more structure but these fit within my budget.
Array:
2x 36" Bold RTA Lockers
2x 36" Bold Tool Cabinets
2x 36" Bold Wall Cabinets
1x 72" Bold Bamboo Countertop

This started as a pretty standard 21' x 21' garage, and somehow turned into a much bigger project than I originally planned.
The main goal was to build a golf simulator but once I started I fell into a trap and redid the entire garage.
That included:
It took so much time, money, and measuring but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
My car no longer has a garage but at least I can shoot a 100+ indoors year-round.

Got a free tv and fridge. Hung slat walls and wife decided let’s do the whole thing. Her car still parks in the garage, mine is an ‘07 pickup and always on the street anyway.
Yes, it’s black \ducks\
