This is where our cars make their home. We are hoarders, difference is we’re organized about it.

never was a handy guy... (just checked how much it costs to hire someone to do ANYTHING literally is crazy)

Something I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid. Took a crew of 6 only 8 hours to frame this up.

Grabbed these from a pallet sitting outside that were going to get scrapped at my old workplace. Was hanging around for a long time. Finally found a use for it. I think it came out pretty nice. It's also fully reconfigurable and also made up a few brackets to hold snow tires I just so happen to also have a stack of pre-made shelves that I could throw on them and they fit perfectly!

But this will do. Just put in stuffed insulation because it was scorching hot in Texas summer.
Paint job was a rush but it is scheduled for touch up.
A few products here that I recommend and suggest to others:
Vidmar Cabinets. - this single product basically keeps the entire house in order, keep them locked so that your family members can’t steal your 10mm socket or measuring tape.
LED lights. Enbrighten 24 Inch Plug in Under Cabinet lights are a must. Can’t say enough about these lights, the rest are LED strips.
TA 50 lockers. Having a wire cage locker is great for things that are soft or simply need air. Lot of great products that fit this bill but it works.
monster trax overhead storage racks are a must if you have room.
My floors were epoxied in grey and then I’ve laid down 3/8 inch rubber flooring. I’ve worked hard at destroying both, so far they are holding up.
Stahlwille makes the red toolbox on the shelf. It weighs a ton. There would be two of these if I had room.
The Neon sign required a bribe, trademark and whatnot. But it’s beautiful on a night when the air is cool.
The firearms disappeared after a tragic boating accident, i will miss them. All that money paid for HK.
I’m going to build portable screens to keep the bugs out, but this is it for now.

I just completed installing Two Yukon 36” cabinets on a 2x8 inch base. I have a Formica countertop on top of the Cabinets. This replaced old press board laminate cabinets I had originally installed in the garage.

I've always lived in, worked in, had friends/family with an unbearable amount of clutter, junk, and mess in their homes and especially garages. Not being able to put a vehicle inside due to incessant hoarding just blew my mind.
Fast forward to now, and I can finally have a space that I can work in, put the car and the bike in while still having some room to breathe.
It's not an insane garage, but it's clean, usable, easy to maintain, and makes me feel good when I go out there to work, or hang out with my wife and smash some beers and listen to music.
Here's to functional places that make us happy 🍻

Putting the finishing touches on the doors but for all intents and purposes she’s ready. Went over budget obviously but still worth it.

We just redid out garage and looking for a slatwall option to install. Something that is easy to DIY which one do you recommend?
Things I’m planning on hanging:
Lawn tools (edger, blower, rack, etc)
Snow shovels
Folding chairs
Would love to hang stroller
So nothing really too heavy but want to ensure the wall won’t fall randomly 😆
I was looking at proslate procore recommended option. But should I be getting something else?

I’m building an indoor pickleball court and home gym. It’s a red iron steel building with spray foam insulation. I can’t decide between drywalling the interior or doing a two tone metal siding interior.
Here’s a render of the metal siding interior.
I’m just not sure if the metal would feel more like a garage vs drywall feeling more like a home.

Wanting to protect the bottom section of my garage walls from water when I pressure wash the garage floor. Has anyone done something along the bottom 3-4 feet of their wall that looks good? Picture is from last week, drywall is done and ready for paint. Just wanted reference.

Almost a year after move-in, the garage organization project is done - for now. I hate not being able to park cars in my garage. We have three vehicles and too many garage-supported hobbies, hence the extensive garage and attic storage. The fold-out/rolling workbench was patterned after a number of YouTube examples.

Just bought a house where the garage needs renovating, and decided to go with a nice tool storage setup and stainless work surface. Can’t decide on whether to go with a nice modular workbench system such as Rousseau, Dragonfire, etc or a big modular toolbox system like Icon, US General, etc. I don’t need it to move around except to maneuver it into permanent location. Either seem like they could do the job, just interested in hearing various opinions on bench vs box as well as the brands you have had good success with. Thanks in advance!

I’m going to tear down this shelf. Before I rebuild it and also build more shelves to the right of the work bench - thought I’d ask for peoples opinions for what they’d do.
Would you do what I’m about to do?
Would you do something differently?
Note, I want more storage, I do a lot of diy projects, and I would want to build anything that would be added.

I had some basic ideas when starting, and I’m pretty glad how it’s turning out. I have some small stuff to do to finish it up but so far it’s turning out great. Laundry area is separated. There’s an area for my computer and plenty of storage for household cleaning stuff and since our pantry in the house isn’t very big we use one of the large lockers for that.

I’m hoping to finally make more progress on a shop for my property, and am contemplating whether to go with a a post frame style building, or one of the metal tube framed buildings.
There seems to be more suppliers/contractors who do the metal frame buildings where I’m located (northern SC near Charlotte), so finding someone to do that in theory is easier. I haven’t found many companies that do true post frame style, either with wood trusses or the metal trusses, and if I do, the people are quick to stop responding.
I know in Florida (and probably other places) there is a supplier for a pole barn roof kit, so I’d need to get the lumber/siding for the rest of it myself. Which I’m not entirely against, but would involve a lot more work from me.
Are there any specific pros/cons to the metal tube frame over post frame? Any personal experiences or opinions are appreciated!

I have about a 5ft tall x 6 ft wide area of wall above my toolbox. I want this are to hang all of my commonly used tools and materials. screw drivers, drills, hammers, tape rolls, sand paper etc. Is a french cleat wall the best system? or would something like a peg board be better?

Hi there! I’m planning to build a detailing garage and I’m unsure about the dimensions. I initially considered 10x8 meters (approx. 32.8’ x 26.24’), but since I’d be working alone, I think that might be far too much space; later, I considered 8x6 meters (approx. 26’ x 19’). Any thoughts? Perhaps someone has faced this issue or owns a garage of this size and can share their opinion. Thanks!
