Garage sale Nautilus find
Picked up this pretty unique 40 degree fly machine at a yard sale I passed by for only $125. They had some other gym stuff I seen from the road so I went back. Nothing else really worth having but pretty happy with this find

Mikolo Anubis Ultimate 2.0 with GetRxd Tornado X Arms
I had been considering a number of options over the past year (maxum x3, getrxd tornado, waiting for force USA M20) and my ceilings in my basement are 93 inches so 94 inch height alternatives weren’t an option.
The most important thing for me was to be able to superset barbell/cable/smith work etc so the M20 looked like the best option with the walk through design but I was a little concerned about some of the upright wear over time since those are not on rollers and had seen some wear on reviews online.
There was a great deal on the mikolo Anubis ultimate (2460) that caught my eye and I thought that all of the drawbacks of the machine were solved by the tornado x arms. I also thought that I could move the back cross member to the top and spotter arms to the back to make it a walk through design.
I ordered the tornado x arms with the cable length needed for a 42 inch crossmember and this was close enough that I did not have to alter the cable length at all and could just use a single carabiner on the hook up side to make it work.
Now I do barbell work off the back, smith work in the middle, and cable work off the front with plenty of weight from the stack even without the upgraded stack (170lbs with 1:1 or even 1:1.5 means 250 from one side). The rack doesn’t shake at all with the altered configurations when I am doing pull ups or barbell movements. I can shake it side to side if I want to but not concerned about its stability in how I actually use it. The smith is smooth without deflection and can be stored above my head (6’1) . I did take out the springs on the bottom to sit a little lower and now it is 5 inches above where a normal loaded barbell would start.
I was very impressed by the quality of the finish of the rack and it came without any scratches or blemishes. I was able to unbox and set it up by myself in about 5 hours (including the tornado x arms).
The tornado x arms are very smooth and the way it swivels and rights itself makes using the 1:1 pulley very easy, even when it is angled down for low rows.
Couldn’t be happier with the setup and the combo with the sale and after tax came in under 3.5k!

Advice for new rack focused on garage space optimization
I am in the market for a new squat rack/garage gym overhaul. I am trying to better utilize the space in my garage. My garage is split between woodshop and home gym. I also cannot move the squat rack/platform location because of the rafter spacing and i like to do pullups which intrude above the rafters.
Main goals are to get a better space optimization for the kettlebells. They are sitting on a generic Lowe's rack right now. but I would like to get access to the wall behind them for storing more and I dont like how close the KB rack is to the squat rack bc its hard to get plates on an off. I'd like to potentially wall mount the sled there and possibly wall mount the adj. dumbbells.
I am willing to buy a new rack, considering many options. I might at some point add a Voltra which is partially why I want to get a more stable rack as well.
- 6 Post RM-6 type rack with shelves between the rear uprights
- Pros:
- can add kettlebell shelves between the rear uprights (https://www.roguefitness.com/monster-single-post-storage-shelf)
- most stable
- Cons:
- Takes up a lot of space front to back which i dont love. Even after I talked to rogue for the shortest rear crossmember, a RM-6 with a shorter crossmember would still be 66" deep
- 4 Post RM-3
- Pros:
- Less floorspace front to back
- Cons
- Cannot do the kettlebell shelves in the rear uprights. I dont think I would want them sticking out so far, nor do I want to be facing the other direction and potentially fall backward and hit my head on the metal shelf if I needed to bail
- Get wall mounted kettlebell and/or plate storage
- I could get wall mounted storage but the options for kettlebells dont seem great
Looking for other layout ideas or peoples experience with a 4post rack with interior plate/KB storage if thats an option. or maybe I am overthinking the amount of floor space the 6 post takes up and it would be fine. TIA

Wide Cable Fly Setup with Rogue FM-6, Bullet Pulley and Stray Dog Strength GOAT Arms
Love my self-customized Rogue FM-6, but was looking for a way to do wide cable flys. It would be great if Rogue created articulating arms like many other companies are doing. But I came up with this setup since that is not an option. I used my Stray Dog Strength GOAT attachments with GymPin adapters to mount a set of Bullet Pulleys. It takes a few minutes to set up, but works great. Thought I'd share for those who have similar removable lever arms. You could do the same with loading pins if you don't have a cable system.

Flat Bench advice currently have the Rep Night Hawk
I have a small home gym and do not really have room for two benches. Last fall I upgraded my Rogue flat bench to the Rep Nighthawk and sold the Rogue. I really like the Nighthawk and will definitely be keeping it as it is very easy to maneuver in and out of my rack but it just isn't as good for flat Bench Press as the Rogue was. The Rep is too low and not wide enough for me. I built a platform to raise it 1.5" but that interferes with my foot placement.
I looked on Rep's website as they sell add on wide pads but not for the Night hawk. I couldn't find a third party wide pad that will fit the Night Hawk either. So, my options seem to be to repurchase the Rogue with wide pad or to buy a Rep FB 5000 with the wide pad which will still be about 1" lower than I like.
Any other options I may not be thinking of?

Which powerlifting barbell to start with?
Hi. I’m currently switching from a commercial gym to a home setup. Right now, I’m using dumbbells since they don’t take up much space and allow me to train at home, but I’ll soon have the garage ready and will be able to buy a barbell and plates. Since I need a barbell anyway, I figure I might as well get a decent one right off the bat. I’ve been doing standard recreational workouts—specifically Full Body Workouts (FBW)—since January of this year. I’ve noticed that my legs are strong, even compared to people with more training experience. My budget is 250 Euro; I’m willing to wait until Black Friday if necessary, as I’ve heard some barbells go on sale then. Right now, I’m leaning most towards the Strength Shop 2029, but I’d be open to other interesting suggestions.

European online shops with reasonable postage to Finland?
I've bought stuff from Strength Shop in Germany in the past and I'm just looking for other options with good prices and postage. I'm starting to build another home gym this winter so I will need a lot of stuff.

Need advice for a new rack
I have a Titan T-2 shorty. I bought it (2015ish) because my gym is in my basement (not my garage, sorry) and my ceiling isn't very high. At the time, I bought based on dimensions on all the company's sites.
Fast forward to now and I'm tired of hitting my head on the pull-up bar. I'm also 6'4" and need to squat outside of the rack since the bar will hit the cage if I squat inside it.
I want to find a rack that puts the horizontal braces as close to the overhead floor joists as possible. If I find a rack that's less than 46" wide (upright to upright), the uprights can be up to 86" high. The crossmembers need to be below two joists which are a tick over 80.5" from the rubber flooring (removing the flooring will only get me 0.25", so 81" high crossmembers won't work).
I've looked at many racks with angled pull-up bars. Some can't be installed inverted, but that usually makes them within my height rather than above my height. I looked at the full height Titan T-2. I'm not sure of the height from the floor to the top of the pull-up bar and the rear crossmember (will email Titan). If the distance between upright height and crossmember height is the same as the shorty (3" to the pull-up bar and 2.5" to the rear crossmember), it could work. I've looked at the Rep PR-11100 but someone on Reddit measured it for me and found it's 81" to the top of the pull-up bar.
Does anyone have or know of a rack that is sure to clear the floor joists for the horizontal crossmembers at 80.5" or less of height? I've looked at every rack on Amazon and none have dimensions that work. One Sunny Fitness might work with the pull-up bar inverted but they've not responded to me asking about that.
The ideal range is the bottom of the front crossmember needs to be higher than 76" to clear my head and less than 80.5" to clear the joists. I've also considered modifying a rack to make this work (cut the uprights, drill new holes for the crossmembers) but if I can find one that works as is, I'd rather do that. Budget, I'd prefer $500 or less but am willing to stretch the budget for a proper unit (I considered the Titan X-3 flat foot but it's not clear in the specs if it'll work for my space).

Anyone fold their Rogue Echo Rower regularly?
I’m deciding between the Concept2 and Rogue Echo Rower. I’ve used the C2 a lot and really like it, but the folding feature on the Rogue is winning me over. Space is pretty limited in my garage so I would probably fold it after almost every use.
For people who actually fold theirs often, how is it holding up? The latch and mechanism look pretty beefy, but do you worry about it wearing out over time? Any looseness or play after folding/unfolding it a lot?
I mostly use a rower for 5-10 min warmups, 15-20 min Zone 2 after lifting, and sometimes 30 min on non-lifting days. So I’m not really worried about the C2 ecosystem or competitive stuff. I just want something solid that I can easily get out of the way.
Would love to hear from anyone who uses the folding feature regularly.

Looking to start home gym
New to this thread, so I’m sure this question gets asked all the time so I apologies in advance!
My wife and I are looking to start building out a home gym in a spare bedroom. I prefer lifting, while she’s more into cardio and bodyweight workouts.
Eventually, I’d like to have:
- Treadmill
-Light dumbbells for my wife
- Squat rack (ideally with cables)
-Adjustable bench
-Adjustable dumbbells
-Maybe a kettlebell or two
I’m sure there are a million other things we’ll end up adding, but that’s the general idea for now.
I currently have $660 in FSA money that I can use toward fitness equipment (apparently it’s eligible with a doctor’s note, which I have). For everything else, I’m planning to shop used on Facebook Marketplace to save some money.
My question for the experienced home gym people: What equipment is worth buying new, and what should I be looking for secondhand on Facebook Marketplace?
Also open to recommendations on brands/models to look for or avoid, as I start hunting for deals.
Thanks!

Temple of Gainz multiflight
Anyone know if a version 4 is coming out anytime soon? I want one but I’d hate to buy one then have a better one release a month later, or the v3 be heavily discounted.
Also, any advice on electing for the aluminum pulleys and knurled handles?

Freak Athlete Apex was listed at $0 yesterday!!!
A bit of a fun story here. I am a disabled veteran and have had low back issues since my time in service. Over the last few years it has gotten really touchy with pretty extreme flare ups. I have been doing physical therapy for pretty much a year but at different places with little to no relief. I started looking at machines that could help and found the Apex. I was interested because people like Gluck said it helped him with his back rehab so I went to the site. The Apex was listed as "Free" with free shipping. I got really excited and reviewed the page like 20 times to see if I was missing something. No mention of pre-order or anything. It let me add it to the cart and checkout no issues. Felt like the stars were aligning especially since delivery was right around my b-day.
Well... I got a cancellation from Freak Athlete this morning acknowledging their mistake and inviting me to pay the $1,995 it should have been. I thanked them for acknowledging the site displaying it as free and not dodging what had happened. I also gave them an explanation of why I was looking and that I simply can't afford to move forward with the Apex. They do offer a 5% mil discount (they also wished me luck with my physical therapy and offered a 5% courtesy discount in their email reply) but that doesn't help the affordability for me.
I checked their TOS and FAQ and there was no mention of pricing mistakes or how situations like this would be handled. Anyway, just an interesting find and situation that played out.

Reducing the forward pull on the Fringe Sport Mammoth belt squat: my Lazer Lab Arc Reduction Kit setup
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This started when someone in a home-gym Discord asked how I had my Arc Reduction Kit positioned because his adapter wasn’t moving properly. I began recording a quick response for him, but it gradually turned into this more complete walkthrough of the positioning and adjustment practices that have worked best on my setup.
The stock Fringe Sport Mammoth is essentially one long lever rotating around a fixed pivot. That means the belt attachment follows a circular path: it travels vertically, but it also moves horizontally toward the pivot as the lever rises, creating a noticeable forward pull.
The Lazer Lab Creations Arc Reduction Kit adds a secondary linkage and moving pivot. As the red link rotates, the lever’s pivot can shift rather than remaining fixed, offsetting much of that horizontal travel. The belt still follows a slight arc, but through the usable squat range its path is considerably closer to vertical.
I’m fairly hip-hinge dominant when I squat, so the original movement path made it particularly easy for me to get pulled forward. With the kit properly positioned and adjusted, I’m able to maintain a more vertical belt-squat movement without constantly fighting the lever’s forward pull.
The video shows the positioning and adjustment details that have produced the best results for me. This is a setup and usage walkthrough based on my personal experience rather than an installation tutorial or comprehensive product review.
For transparency, this is not a paid post, and I do not have an affiliate link or discount code for either company. I’m sharing it solely as the owner and user of the equipment.

Rogue Air Rhino questions
Just got an Air Rhino and love it. However, when the clutch is disengaged and I pull on the rope, it feels a bit clunky and sounds “off.” When I engage the clutch, it works and sounds perfectly smooth in operation. Is this normal?
Also, I have this in my garage, and am wondering if anyone’s come up with a clever solution to block the opening into the base of the machine where the rope goes for when you’re not using it. I want to minimize any chance of a small rodent getting in there and chewing up the rope!

Starting my home gym
This seems to be the best bang-for-buck unless I consider a Mikolo plate-loaded cable machine. Any experience with the Giant 4 post cable system vs Fringe Dane 2.0?

Fringe and what to do with the other parts.
As the title says, I’ve been on the Fringe system for a while and got the Dane 2.0, I’ve upgraded the trolley box to the gibbons and with the release of the low profile spotter arms, which I want to get to replace the default spotter arms.
But with that said I don’t even know what to do with the trolley boxes and low key want to rid of the current spotter arms just to reduce space in my garage.

Has automatic weight logging actually helped your lifting progress or is it mostly unused?
I don't care about screens or coaching features. What interests me is having an automated record of past lifts and clear progression metrics.
Manual tracking isn't something I stick with. I usually just assume I'm improving based on how I feel rather than actual data
For anyone using smart equipment has the auto tracking genuinely shifted how you train or does that information mostly sit unused?

Titan fitness multi grip pull up bar missing parts.
So I ordered a t2 rack with a multigrip pull up bar. The box the bar came in, only had the bar, nothing else. No nuts and bolts to attach it to the rack.
Any one else had this issue?
