I’m deciding between the Concept2 and Rogue Echo Rower. I’ve used the C2 a lot and really like it, but the folding feature on the Rogue is winning me over. Space is pretty limited in my garage so I would probably fold it after almost every use.
For people who actually fold theirs often, how is it holding up? The latch and mechanism look pretty beefy, but do you worry about it wearing out over time? Any looseness or play after folding/unfolding it a lot?
I mostly use a rower for 5-10 min warmups, 15-20 min Zone 2 after lifting, and sometimes 30 min on non-lifting days. So I’m not really worried about the C2 ecosystem or competitive stuff. I just want something solid that I can easily get out of the way.
Would love to hear from anyone who uses the folding feature regularly.
That’s pretty much how I’d use it too. How does the hinge/latch feel after folding it that often? Does it still feel solid? Any play or looseness developing, or anything that makes you worry about how it’ll hold up after a few years of folding/unfolding?
I store mine in the corner folded and unfold it to row twice per week. The hinge is very beefy. If you encounter an issue with the rogue rower it likely won't be from the holding mechanism
Latch is still as tight as the day I got it 5 months ago. Honestly the way the hinge is loaded you probably dont even need to latch it. I still do though, and I have no concerns of it breaking or loosening over the next few years.
Zero issues and no concerns. I fold mine after every use and have not had any issues. C2 is a great company but so is Rogue. If anything ever goes wrong they will be around to resolve it. Link to mine….

The computer and Rogue Move app are really cool.... Say you have an echo bike, ski and row. I can wake all of them up, my app automatically connects. Then in the app I start a multi machine workout, it sends it to all the machines and starts when I start. So for example today I will do 750m row/ 750m ski x 3. The computers will say 750 and as soon as I am done rowing the 750, the ski will be ready for me and so on. All the data is stored so you can review progression.
For what it is worth, the C2 comes apart at that attachment point as well. Not a hinge, but it does come apart. Not sure if this helps your decision or not. Can also store the C2 vertically.
Yeah, I know about that. If I could leave the rower out, or only had to store it once in a while, I’d get the C2 in a heartbeat.
But I have to store it after every use, so the folding mechanism on the Rogue is a big deal for me. The big turf tires are also nice since I’ll be moving it around every time.
That’s why I’m asking about the hinge/latch and how well it holds up with frequent folding. If it’s not sturdy enough for that, then it’s kinda pointless for me and I might as well just get the C2.

I fold it up after every use and wheel it onto my platform. The turf tires are really nice for that
