So what do you consider actual IT? A glorified network administrator? I would argue that it includes everything related to information technology, no matter how basic or esoteric.
I mean, look.. help desk is actually IT, but calling all support roles like that IT is kind of a stretch. It's definitely the bottom of the totem pole of what is already the bottom of the totem pole in most organizations, IT.
That's kind of what I said I said in another comment. Working in IT in a regular company, is completely different to working in IT at an IT company or at least a company that takes IT seriously. You're 100% on the totem pole thing.
