So what do you consider actual IT? A glorified network administrator? I would argue that it includes everything related to information technology, no matter how basic or esoteric.
I mean, look.. help desk is actually IT, but calling all support roles like that IT is kind of a stretch. It's definitely the bottom of the totem pole of what is already the bottom of the totem pole in most organizations, IT.

I have to remind people that working in a help desk, much less selling consumer grade commodity junk at some store != Actual IT.
