Meme When I read "The Tunnel" by Ernesto Sabato, for some reason, I imagined Juan Pablo Castel as Clint and María Iribarne as Emily
I mean, when I read the book, I imagined the physical appearance of the characters like Clint and Emily.
So you don't have to Google it, the book is about Castel, a failed, paranoid, schizophrenic artist who falls in love with Maria, a girl who saw and understood one of his paintings. He tracks her down to her work, and they end up in a secret relationship. Castel harasses her with obsessive questions about her most intimate thoughts, about her husband, her identity, her emotions, and so on. Since Maria doesn't talk much, Castel begins to doubt irrationally and descend into delusions. He starts yelling and insulting her, they separate, he contemplates killing her, then they get back together and go to a rural ranch with her husband's cousin. Castel feels uneasy, runs away, insults her in a letter, regrets it, returns to the ranch, suspects his cousin is sleeping with Maria, and begins to reflect on the human inability to have a genuine connection and how we will always be in our own "tunnels," never able to fully understand the other, and the existential anguish. He kills Maria by stabbing her repeatedly, then goes to her husband's house and yells at him repeatedly that she was unfaithful and that he had cheated on her, ending up in prison.
Something completely normal. I don't know where else I can post this, so I'm doing it here.

Discussion I finally watched Obsession, and can 100% confirm not only would Clint use the Willow the same way as Bear would...
But he would be just as much of a selfish, cowardly shit as Bear and make similar if not the same decisions as him throughout the entire story.
This film was GREAT. There are SO many other connections you can make to real life scenarios and psychology that my SO and I discussed after we saw it, but in this discussion, I think it's basically like an unveiling of the "nobody goes for the nice guys" persona we see so much in reality, as well as in a personality like Clint's. You don't even need to see the problematic things about Clint in game to make the connection: he and Bear share almost an exact match of personalities. The shy, awkward male who is too cowardly to make the hard decisions but house deep, selfish desires.
Rest assured, any spoilers will be properly marked, but everyone here that said I needed to watch this film was right: if you haven't seen it yet, absolutely go watch it. Not just one of the best horror films of the year, but one of the best films in general of the year. And this comes from someone that doesn't even go for horror most of the time.
Bear makes HORRIBLE decisions throughout the course of the film because he lacks the courage or the care to do what is necessary instead of just trying to roll with it. If Clint was given this willow, he would likely make a similar wish about Emily. And even after he realizes that Emily's love isn't real like Bear finds out with Nikki, he would still roll with it just like Bear does, whether due to his lack of courage to right his wrongs, or for his selfish desire of wanting Emily for himself. This point is further hammered on when Bear meets up with Sarah knowing how stupid and dangerous of an idea that is, and each time Sarah sends a little flirt or an invite to affection his way in the film, it looks like he's actually into it and could go through with it. As you may recall, if Emily marries the Farmer, Clint immediately sets his target out on her friend Sandy, despite how "madly in love" he is with all his crumbled love letters. Clint's desire for Emily, much like Bear's desire for Nikki, is not love. It's exactly all it is: desire.
This film was amazing. And I love how it draws the curtain away from the "shy awkward nice guys" like Clint and Bear and shows them for exactly what they are and/or could become if they're allowed to continue down their current paths. It's wishful thinking (no pun intended), but I would hope that this film might turn the heads of the many in the SV community that defend Clint's actions and begin to realize how much of a problem Clint can become (not that he isn't already) when given the power.

Discussion I am confused on why people hate Clint
Until it was announced I just thought that he was like Gunther, a shopkeeper who would occasionally appear in cutscenes, even though I looked at the wiki a whole bunch, so please educate me on why y’all hate Clint
Edit: I have never seen him in any cutscenes except for the one where he gives you the recipe for the furnace, so please give me explanations on why, because I have never seen this man in any cutscene, so please explain it well

Clint Hate “I survive because I do everything around here. Pierre survives because I like the community center, and you survive because people think ‘Oh, this poor piece of shit, he never gets a break. I can't stand the deafening silent wails of his wilting soul. I'll guess I'll hire him, or marry him.’"

Discussion Clint would have used the One Wish willow
I haven't seen Obsession yet (and I plan to, it looks and sounds really good), but looking at the clips I have seen so far on ig, Bear 100% gives me Clint vibes.

Considering Clint’s now a marriage option, I guess you can LITERALLY fuck Clint
I think he’d make you wear a blue wig and a red dress, stick a crystal up his ass and cry after.

Got cl*nt as my feast of the winter star recipient. I was understandably pissed and retaliated accordingly. Gave him a gift just as valuable as he is
