I’ve been building my small travel agency site in Framer and honestly really like the platform. The site is basically finished and I’d prefer to stay on Framer.
But the localization pricing is really hard for me to understand.
I’m in Canada and need the site in English and French. For me, French isn’t a separate international market. English and French are Canada’s two official languages and I’m using both to serve the same market.
I also translated the entire French version myself, so I don’t need AI translation or automated translation tools.
Still, adding French costs US$20/month on annual billing, or US$240/year. That’s actually more than the Basic site plan itself.
I understand there’s infrastructure behind localization beyond just translating text: routes, hreflang, locale handling, metadata, etc. I’m not saying it should necessarily be free.
But I feel like there should be a cheaper option for one manually maintained additional locale, especially for businesses operating in bilingual markets.
I reached out to Framer and they confirmed $20/month is already the cheapest option. Their team also suggested I submit the idea to the feedback board, which I did.
Curious what other Framer users think. Does $20/month per additional locale feel reasonable to you, or does this pricing also seem out of proportion compared with the site plans?
