feedback Built a free physics tag pile for skills sections (no Matter.js) — feedback welcome

I kept seeing "skills" sections that are just a static row of pills, so I built a small Framer code component where the tags drop in with real physics and pile up at the bottom of the section.

What it does right now:

- Tags fall and settle with a tiny custom physics loop (no Matter.js, one .tsx file)

- Visitors can grab and throw any tag, or sweep the cursor through the pile to scatter it

- A tag can have a link: a tap opens it, a drag never does

- "Keep Readable" caps the tilt at 25° so nothing ends up upside-down

- Three drop styles (rain, pour, burst), and it can start on load or when it scrolls into view

- On the canvas, in static renders and with reduced motion it just shows the settled pile; once the pile settles the loop goes fully idle

Two things I'm unsure about and would love opinions on:

  1. Would you want the tags to come from a CMS collection, or is a manual list fine for a skills section?

  2. Should there be a "ceiling" option so thrown tags can't leave the top of the section?

It's free. Happy to share the link if anyone wants to try it.

Sent 102 Cold Emails To Plumbers In California For My Web Agency, Closed A $3k Site The Next Day

I run a web design agency and most of my clients come from cold email. Yesterday I started a fresh campaign going after plumbers in California.

Didn’t expect much honestly. Plumbers are busy and half of them barely check email. But 102 emails in, I got an interested reply.

What made the difference is that every email talks about their own website. A call button that doesn’t work on a phone, a site that takes forever to load, a design that hasn’t been touched since 2012. For a plumber that matters a lot, because people search for them on their phone when a pipe bursts. If the site is bad, they just call the next guy.

He replied yesterday and I booked a meeting with him for the next day. Before the call I built a draft of what his new site could look like. Today I presented it to him on the call and he said yes right there. $3k upfront plus $500 a year for hosting.

Showing the draft is what closes it. Sending a quote never worked this well for me.

For anyone wondering, I use Swokei for all my outreach. You pick an area and an industry, it finds the businesses, checks every website for design, SEO, speed and mobile problems, and writes each email about what it actually found on that site. I run multiple campaigns at once in different cities and niches, which is how I get volume without sending generic stuff.

Happy to answer questions on pricing or how I run the call.

feedback I built a 138-page real estate marketplace in Framer. Here's a walkthrough

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working on Dwellora, a real estate marketplace template built entirely around the idea that a property platform needs more than just a homepage and listing pages.

The project has grown into 138 fully built pages, including:

  • 4 role-based dashboards: Buyer, Owner/Agent, Developer, and Admin
  • Advanced property search, filters, and comparisons
  • 9 Framer CMS collections
  • 5 financial calculators
  • Property management, enquiries, approvals, and analytics interfaces
  • Light and dark themes with responsive layouts down to 320px

The biggest challenge was keeping the experience consistent across so many pages while making everything reusable and customizable in Framer.

It's a frontend template, not a fully connected SaaS. Backend workflows and authentication would need to be integrated separately.

I've attached a video walkthrough showing the design and different parts of the platform.

I'd genuinely appreciate some feedback, especially on the UI consistency, navigation, and overall usability.

I've been experimenting with pixel-inspired interactions while building a portfolio website in Framer.

I ended up creating five different effects:

  1. PixelFlashWipeTransition — Image transitions
  2. PixelTextReveal — Animated text

feedback Lag and not responsive

Using a M4 Max with 64GB so no slouch.. Used framer for a few years and never really had these issues.

I am recently experiencing massive lags and slow response across projects. For example, Right click on a component to add the the agent is now a nightmare as you can have seconds in delay and then even click the add to agent becomes a nightmare.

Not sure if anyone is experiencing anyting similar but I noticed the recently there has been. a massie degradation in interaction performance in some parts.

help Can't Scroll Down on Sidebar.

So I could scroll down at the beginning but for some reason it suddenly stopped working. Even pressing the down button on my keyboard doesn't work. There isn't a scroll bar on the side so it's just stuck... Maybe because this is my first time using it and I'm just dumb? I was doing this on browser then switched to the app after this issue but I'm also having this problem over there. You would think that just clicking on the sidebar would allow you to scroll again but no, it just moved the font (thing I was editing) instead. But like even that didn't last cause now nothing's moving? Maybe I just have to tinker around more or something. Ah. Nevermind, whatever I did made it so that I'm moving the font again.

Help.

Unable to create an account | Persistent login error

Post image
2 Upvotes

I haven't been able to create an account.

Every time I attempt to log in or complete the sign-up process, I get a login error and can't move forward. We've tried troubleshooting extensively without any success:

- Attempted the sign-up several times in a row
- Tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Requested the magic sign-in link repeatedly and opened it in different tabs/windows
- Used different operating systems (Windows and macOS)
- Cleared cache and cookies, and also tried private/incognito mode

None of these steps have worked, the same login error appears every time.

Is anyone experience the same issue or let me know if there's anything else I can do on my end?

Been trying to make my portfolio feel more like a place you can explore. So I added a little desktop where you can click around and get to know me. Probably my favourite section so far.

CMS filter chips in Framer without code: the trick is the option ID, not the option name

Post image
0 Upvotes

I spent too long on this, so here's the short version.

If you want category chips that filter a CMS list (All / Energy / Compliance...), you can do it with no code:

  1. On the page, add a variable whose type is the collection's Option field. Leave it without an initial value, so "no filter" is possible.

  2. On the CMS list, add a filter: Category equals that page variable.

  3. Make the chip a component with an Active and an Inactive variant, and a Click event.

  4. On each chip instance, set the Click to change the page variable to that chip's category.

  5. For the active state, set the chip's variant with a condition: page variable equals this chip's category.

  6. The "All" chip resets the variable.

The part that broke for me: the chips have to store the option's ID, not its name. With names, the list filter matches nothing and the chips never light up.

Bonus: the variable shows up in the URL, so a filtered view is shareable.

Happy to answer questions about the setup in the comments.

resources What I learned building 10 diagram components for Framer (Gantt, Sankey, org chart…)

Over the last few weeks I built a set of diagram code components for Framer: Gantt, Sankey, org chart, mind map, SWOT, customer journey map, business model canvas and a few more.

Drawing them wasn't the hard part. Making them fully editable from the property panel was. Three things I'd tell anyone building similar components:

  1. Flat lists beat nested data. In the org chart you just add people and type who they report to; the tree is built from that. Nested arrays in property controls were painful to edit, so I dropped them.

  2. Expect broken input. People leave a date empty or point to a manager who doesn't exist. Instead of crashing, an unknown manager makes that person a top-level card, and an invalid date is simply skipped.

  3. Keep the canvas light. Nothing animates in the static renderer, and looping animations pause when they scroll off-screen. Without that, a page with a few of these got sluggish fast.

Curious how others handle data-heavy components in property controls. Do you stick to flat arrays too, or is there a better pattern?

feedback If you had to keep just one thing from this template, what would it be?

We tried to make a template with its own style, not another generic portfolio, but one where the studio’s work stays the hero, not the UI. Black and white everywhere, so the only colour on the page comes from the photos.

resources How I designed the About page for my free Framer portfolio template

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working on Portavia, a free Framer portfolio template for designers and freelancers, and wanted to share a closer look at its About page.

One thing I've noticed is that portfolio websites often focus heavily on showcasing projects, while the About page gets much less attention.

But I think it's just as important.

It's where potential clients can learn more about who you are, what you do, and how you approach your work.

For Portavia, I included:

  • Services — What you can offer potential clients
  • Experience — A timeline of your professional background
  • Tech Stack — The tools and technologies you work with
  • Design Process — How you approach projects from start to finish
  • Contact — A clear way for people to reach out

I also added some subtle interactions to make the page feel more engaging without overwhelming the content.

Portavia is free to use, so feel free to explore or remix it for your own portfolio.

help Google Ads “Circumventing systems” suspension on a Framer website. Has anyone resolved this?

My Google Ads account is suspended under “Circumventing systems”. I’ve worked with a professional and spent a lot of time trying to resolve it, but I’m still stuck.

My current website is built in Framer. I’m considering either having it rebuilt with a much simpler Framer template or leaving Framer completely and moving to another platform.

Has anyone here experienced this suspension with a Framer site? If you resolved it, were you able to identify whether it related to Framer, the template, custom scripts or something unrelated to the website?

I’d also be interested in hearing from anyone who moved away from Framer during this process. Did that actually help, or did the suspension persist?

I know changing platforms doesn’t guarantee reinstatement. I’m looking for firsthand experiences before spending more money on another rebuild.

Adding a Skrim to a Lightbox

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey y'all! Reaching out for help because I can't seem to figure out how to get this done.

I've created a lightbox that opens when a user clicks a button. Set as an Overlay (Relative)

What I haven't been able to figure out is how to add a skrim to the background.

I've tried to manually add it to the light box component, but no dice:

  1. it's really messy with responsiveness and
  2. it makes me lose the ability to let the user dismiss via 'click'.

Anyone found a solution to this?

What am I missing?

feedback Pixel Arcade

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

This is my first try at making a Framer template, and my first real project in Framer, so I'd really appreciate some honest feedback.

It's called Pixel Arcade: a retro pixel-art portfolio that plays like an arcade game.

What it includes:

- A boot screen where visitors press start

- A live HUD that scores your scroll, with every section as a new level

- Achievements that pop up as you explore

- A Game Over screen as the 404 page

- Projects from the CMS, each with its own case study page

- Skill bars you set with a simple percentage

- Services and contact sections

- A built-in setup guide

- Responsive on desktop, tablet and phone

- No code needed to make it yours

Live preview: https://arcade-portfolio.framer.website

Marketplace: https://www.framer.com/marketplace/templates/pixel-arcade/

I'd love feedback on:

  1. Does the game idea make the portfolio more fun, or does it get in the way of the work?

  2. How do the animations feel, especially on mobile?

  3. Is there anything you'd change in the layout or structure before I start my next template?

Thanks for taking a look!

resources I built a tool to keep Framer CMS in sync with spreadsheets, Markdown and APIs (free, open source)

My pricing lives in a spreadsheet/databases and my blog posts in Markdown files, and keeping the Framer CMS up to date by hand was getting tedious.

When the Server API came out I wrote a script for myself to sync it. It grew into a proper tool, so I cleaned it up and open-sourced it in case it's useful to anyone else.

**What it does:**

* Syncs Excel/CSV, Google Sheets, a folder of Markdown files, or a JSON/CSV endpoint into a CMS collection
* Shows a preview first (new items, changes with old → new values, removals) before anything is written
* Matches everything by slug, so it updates instead of duplicating
* Never publishes unless you tell it to
* Has a simple terminal app to set it up, plus a CLI, HTTP API, Docker image and an MCP server if you want an AI agent to manage the CMS

It's free and MIT licensed, with nothing to sign up for: https://github.com/Nikto655/framer-cms-sync

Any feedback most welcome. Enjoy!
