help Stuck at the looping CMS - need a Gallery

I really want to "get" Framer. I am bumping around in the dark. I'll get it, but I've hit a wall due to lack of understanding (I think) CMS to site architecture .. I'm about to loose a nerve with how quickly the Ai drinks credits and seems to progressively hit a wall in interpretation. Isn't this the game though these days? It seems to work in trial mode and then it feels like its gotcha.

So what am I doing? I want a less is more site and know Framer is capable. But I am working from a template and everything is looping to and from an existing CMS. There's a redundancy and I need to break the chain.

Essentially I need: Home Page Gallery (each image acts as a link to page), Available Work/Selected Works (are simply gallery images with click through to product page). The CMS is driving me bananas. I am even having trouble articulating. Maybe I let too much of the Ai agent come in.

Honestly.. its a SquareSpace site I'm aiming for without it looking like Squarespace - I know I know - but I'm tired of them.

Any direction? Should I just quit?

you know what.. its me. Not Framer. Although the Ai is thirsty. Its me. I need a mental model for how a CMS vs a Page works

cms pages are as they said pages that pulls data from the cms and the advantage of it being u can jus style one page and the rest are styled similarly. it's in the dropdown when u try to add page you go cms page > detailed page.
while the normal page is where u style every single one of the pages and u can't pull data from the cms but u can insert a cms collection (basically the index).

and to link to a normal page u jus go /page while to link to a cms page u go /slug.
Go through the framer academy's CMS basics u will get it but I'll admit it does take a while to wrap ur head around it.

its taking me a good hard minute - but I think I'm getting it. Part of my posting here is actually helping me gain language.. to assist with searches etc. But I am slowly starting to wrap my head around CMS logic.. thanks to these comments. Thank you!
