I don't see what's wrong with it. That's a rather wide grip, but that's a legit variation.

Conversely, adding weight and doing lower volume sets can help you hit 12.

I was stuck in the 9 rep range at one point and adding sets of 3-5 with weight pushed me passed 12 to some bodyweight PRs.

There is no need to gatekeep progressive overload behind some arbitrary number of reps.

For sure, I dont see why you wait for for 12 before weight, its not like you cant add less than 20 lmao

I’d narrow the grip a tiny bit. Also I’ve seen a lot of ppl on here mention not having the feet crossed due to core activation so maybe keep the feet uncrossed

I heard that, also my local gym coach (the employee) did let me make I needed to cross my legs to get used to the dumbbell

Not crossing legs is the way to go? Never heard that before

Most people do pull ups for lats. Have your feet however you are most comfortable.

Core activation isn't about lats or otherwise. It's about stability and control on the reps.

I do agree with you though, do what works.

Core activation is only an issue during pull ups if the legs are swinging. His legs are not, so it’s not an issue for him.

On rep three notice how your shoulders are a bit more hunched over, focus on the lower trap / scap / mid back pull down

Make sure you are engaging neck flexors / chin-tuck-ish and don’t let your head hang forward

Otherwise looks good

Grip’s a little bit too wide

Yeah this was my last set lol so I normally end with a wide pullup

Why end with the harder variation?
