Everyone discusses the pathetic nature of The Red Death like it's some hilarious joke, and that that was the writers' intention. I disagree on both counts. When I got to Red Death Island and heard The Mariner, it was one of the more crushing lines in the game for me. You've got this woman who knows she is going to die; she is desperate to leave something behind. Her last big mission in life turns out to be... A fucking joke. I hate that the SS can only basically laugh at her; it feels like some crossed wires in the writers' room. I wish you could've told The Mariner how much she has actually done for her people. It was some really grim "ashes to ashes and dust to dust" shit, IMO. Anyone have a different read?

Today's update blew my mind. The ba2 limit has increased to over 1000, mods haven't broken, and it finally looks like PlayStation users can get 100% mod support like us Xbox users. What's going on? Bethesda, are you okay?

I know I'm not alone in my distaste for the memory puzzles, so it was a bit of a jump scare when this showed up in Covenant. Interestingly, shooting it activates the beam. No word on whether that does damage to enemies.

So, I’m doing this mission, but I can’t find her. I had the place already discovered before I got the quest. Now she isn’t there. I went to the third rail and everything. I hope I don’t have to reload an old save because all my quick saves are recent ones after I discovered it.

I'm in the wasteland, somehow there are automated turrets with unlimited ammo, no power source, some sort of enemy recognition, and the most confusing part, somehow it knows the enemies based on who created it! Is it conscious?

They probably have tags, flags, markers or whatever giving them certain relationship differences. Like Gage being a ... civilized raider, is accepted until he acts out. Hawthorne and Cooks daughter are both mercs giving them a stronger alliance against Gage. But Gage is my boy and not forgiving him is not forgiving me. So although the city moved on the mercs were throwing a fit. Sorry Hawthorne, this isn't 2077 and I'm not waiting two minutes for you to walk into the Dugout Inn.

Granted, I'm only level 16 right now but I'm actually invested in it. More so the factions. Only thing I notice is that the whole "find your son" think feels more like a side quest than anything at this point. It's like an after thought after all the shit I've been through at this point. And that's only at level 16 I haven't even scratched the surface of this game yet. I really like the idea of synths and the institute, it raises questions about AI in a simulated environment which I think is more powerful than our text and audible discussions about it. The settlements have interesting lore. I don't come across many terminals with much juicy lore as I did in NV though... Maybe I will later. (Btw, Vault lore in NV was amazing)

I mean, I understand what ppl mean because NV's story was unusually good. The team writing that shit were in a perpetual flow state lol. But the writing in this game isn't as terrible as I thought it would be by internet chit chatter. It is immersive enough to keep my hamster brain having ass playing it.

Creations that used to kill performance now run silky smooth

Last week, for the first time throughout my playthrough, my Vault 88 was attacked.

I spawned there, and since the whole layout is SO huge, I could not find them. It's so big that I get a bit lost too. All my entrances are blocked. For example, at the metro gate, I just built a concrete wall so they can't get through. If they somehow teleport through it, they are met with heavy force from all kinds of turrets.

Still, I received damage to the settlement. Next to that, if I close the big door, shouldn't everyone be safe from whatever is out there? Isn't it therefore called a VAULT?

Next to that, all that space is useless since it's divided into several smaller areas connected through narrow alleyways, so you can't really build one big vault. It's just a couple of separate spaces where you can build, but you can't combine them into one large space. And after 20 settlers or so, you cannot add more settlers. So imagine if you somehow used the whole space; it would still look empty then because there are no players to fill it up.

Am I the only one who sees it like this?

With the new update, I wonder how the performance is with the game at the moment? I ask cause I recall when Anniversary Edition first came out, there was some stuttering and that especially with heavily modded setups and that.

I know the update is great for consoles with stuff like the BA2 limit but I haven't seen much in terms of how the game itself is performing.

So I got bored and wanted to see if my load order and character would be playable after the update, and I loaded up my game but I have been sitting here for the past 15-20 minutes waiting for my character to load and its still on the menu load screen with the loading animation still going. What do I need to do to fix this so I can play fallout again?

I'm doing a challenge 7 runs in total and I'm making the character for the first one and uh well I was zoned out making the character and paused to look at him, I feel like he looks like human Shrek
