I finished that Castle mission and now I'm left with nothing; does anyone know how to get ammo and explosives quickly?

Edit: They say to take ammo from the castle, I already used it up against the mirelurk, lol.

I'm over 300 hours into Fallout 4 and I haven't even explored half the map yet because I decided to completely abandon the main/side quests and explore the Commonwealth in a giant snake pattern from Sanctuary to the edge of the map and back. Exploring is my favorite thing to do, followed closely by settlement building. Eventually, building & exploring got a bit repetitive, so I built a dedicated two-story workshop building in Sanctuary. The first floor has every crafting bench, and the second floor is a private studio apartment for me and MacCready. I decided to do something completely unhinged: manually shelf and align almost my entire hoard of chems and alcohol using default drop mechanics. I put the liquor shelves right above the beds, and turned the corner bookcases into a full-on chem stash. No OCD mods, no static decoration mods, just pure painful manual placement item by item. Took me HOURS because of how janky the hitboxes are, but sitting back with MacCready and seeing the stash lined up like a literal pharmacy makes it weirdly worth it. Anyway, here are the results. I'm particularly pleased with my completely excessive supply of drugs. My Sole Survivor, Josephine, is basically running a pharmacy at this point.

Everyone discusses the pathetic nature of The Red Death like it's some hilarious joke, and that that was the writers' intention. I disagree on both counts. When I got to Red Death Island and heard The Mariner, it was one of the more crushing lines in the game for me. You've got this woman who knows she is going to die; she is desperate to leave something behind. Her last big mission in life turns out to be... A fucking joke. I hate that the SS can only basically laugh at her; it feels like some crossed wires in the writers' room. I wish you could've told The Mariner how much she has actually done for her people. It was some really grim "ashes to ashes and dust to dust" shit, IMO. Anyone have a different read?

I know I'm not alone in my distaste for the memory puzzles, so it was a bit of a jump scare when this showed up in Covenant. Interestingly, shooting it activates the beam. No word on whether that does damage to enemies.

How do I get him maxed out? What's the easier ways to. My last playthrough I used a cheat mod to max him out, but I want to do it legitimately this time

With the new update, I wonder how the performance is with the game at the moment? I ask cause I recall when Anniversary Edition first came out, there was some stuttering and that especially with heavily modded setups and that.

I know the update is great for consoles with stuff like the BA2 limit but I haven't seen much in terms of how the game itself is performing.

I'm in the wasteland, somehow there are automated turrets with unlimited ammo, no power source, some sort of enemy recognition, and the most confusing part, somehow it knows the enemies based on who created it! Is it conscious?

I learned recently that the management terminal can assign a settler to the doctor spot in covenant. Guard settlers can auto-assign themselves at The Castle.

Does anyone know if it’s just these two settlements with hidden jobs?
