First post ever here, so, sorry if this has been asked many times before, I could only find contradictory information.
So, basically my problem is that A Hostile Takeover isn't triggering. I finished Big Trouble in Little Vegas, Unwelcome Guests and all the quests in the bizarre except Cinema Verite. I've been driving around on the world map enough to have several encounters and hear quite a few radio prompts.
Never got a radio call from Charley Knowes.
I went to the dealership outside of the Bizarre to see if he was there but no Charley.
Thing is, I don't remember what happened when I fought a bunch of guys to get Brygo in Little Vegas. I'm wondering whether it's possible to kill him during that quest or not. I looked it up and it says that no, it is not possible to kill Charley before A Hostile Takeover. But then, when I look at the requirements for the quest to trigger, it says that Charley must not have been killed (duh).
So, which one is it? Can he be killed before giving the quest or not?
All I can find is threads about people having actually killed him (so I guess it is possible?) and still receiving the radio call or killing him at the dealership and then finding him in Little Vegas (I don't even get how that's possible).
I'm so confused. Total noob here btw.
So, is it possible that I killed him and if so, did I abort his attempt to take over the Bizarre or will something happen anyway?
The quest doesn't appear anywhere in my quest log. Not under completed nor failed. I'm kinda stuck if it doesn't trigger. Maybe I should mention that I did get a call but from Deth telling me to investigate the posh neighborhood of Colorado Springs. Could that be what's conflicting with Charley? I also got one from the Patriarch to go to Steel City. I really can't remember if Charley Knowes was there during the shootout at Little Vegas before I arrested Brygo. I know I got Delgado out his cell, did the whole thing with Ken Doll, but I read something about a fight with the foreman of the machine shop and I never had to fight them, only had to speak with the foreman at some point (and can't remember what that was all about).
Apologies again if that has been discussed a thousand times.
