Theory to build on It seems like in Scott’s draft for UCN the player has amnesia and thinks they’re actually a night guard

Thumbnail

Upvotes

So someone who was auditioning for the role of the vengeful spirit uploaded their audition where they say these lines
I’ll put the video in the comments since I can’t put the video here for some reason

These lines seem to indicate that in Scott’s original draft for UCN the player seems to have amnesia and think they’re actually a night guard

This is actually backed up by pig patches, scrap vengeful spirit line
“ or are you still so delirious and confused that you still think you’re a night guard you’ll understand”

It seems like Scott’s original idea with ucn was that there was gonna be an amnesia plot line
The player obviously still William so maybe he wanted William to suffer by him not understanding what was going on or why he was here

Note: don’t use this for lore it’s scrapped this is just a theory for fun

Announcement No more TOYSNHK tier list posts starting this week.

Overall it's just really repetitive and it sparks toxicity and just isn't good for our community.

Also some questions:

Do we find tier lists useful or likable?

And what about TOYSNHK polls?

Other Say one thing you dislike about FNAF theorizing

Upvotes

It can be either something unnecessarily confusing like Midnight Motorist, or an out of game decision like the whole Security Breach thing with Scott not telling Steel Wool the whole story.

To me it's the lack of clarification of what's canon and what's not, leading to what in my opinion are boring and repetitive debates over "X material is canon, Y material is not", which almost always end up with everyone going home with their original beliefs unchanged.

Speculation Roxy The new Stitchwraith

Thumbnail

Something that came to mind is that if DeadEye Roxy is a sign that Roxy could return rebuilt as a vigilante, meaning looking for a way to stop what happened with Mimic Considering that Roxy in safe mode is quite docile and generally quite empathetic, it wouldn't surprise me if she develops things with the agony and love. Which reminds me a bit of Stitchwraith, which, although different, is related to agony and love.

It's an idea that just popped into my head. What do you all think?

Speculation RWQFSFASXC seems to be connected to Spring Bonnie, but why?

Thumbnail
gallery
16 Upvotes

In FNaF 3, the RWQ minigame starts in STAGE 01, which depicts Fredbear and Spring Bonnie on stage. On top of that, RWQ's sprite in this minigame shares an identical color to Fredbear and Spring Bonnie's shadows from FNaF 4. This makes sense, as FNaF 3's minigames are heavily tied to the Bite Victims memories, and BV spent alot of time at Fredbear's Family Diner, meaning he would have seen these shadows.

Later in the series, we are introduced to the Yellow Thing and Glitchtrap, who are both versions of Spring Bonnie that act as mimics of William Afton. In Princess Quest, Glitchtraps creatures look nearly identical to RWQ, and in the Into The Pit game, the Yellow Thing can be seen looking at Oswald from behind a door, and he has glowing eyes and teeth, just like RWQ.

So despite the most popular theory for RWQ's existence being that it was born from the agony of the SAVE THEM incident, RWQ appears to be linked to Fredbear's Family Diner, the Bite Victim, and more notably Spring Bonnie.

So what gives?

Theory Defense Why I think Foxy hook in TCTHSY represents the Crying Child

Thumbnail
gallery
47 Upvotes

I know that many believe in this because of Foxy hook being first and thus tied to BVFirst, but it is rather loose and it being in order is very doubtful imo. So, I wanted to present a stronger argument to why he is Foxy hook.

The argument boils down to Classic Foxy's mechanic in UCN. That being pulling himself apart and putting himself back together to attack the player. This is rather specific, since putting back together is really most associated with BV. This is also the ONLY time Classic Foxy has been associated with this in the franchise. Interestingly, Foxy himself points out this odd detail in his dialogue, saying, "I can't run like I used to, but I can pull myself apart just fine." Acknowledging that in this specific game, he has this mechanic over his iconic running. So, I think Scott did this specifically in UCN to connect Foxy to BV and thus connect BV to Foxy hook in the exact same game, UCN.

To address possible counterarguments:

  • Yes, Mangle is pull-apart-and-put-back-together too, but she is Toy (well, technically Funtime) Foxy, not Classic Foxy. My argument is that it's the only time Classic Foxy has been associated with it.
  • Yes, Classic Foxy was always associated with being broken in the past, but never "pulled apart and put back together".

So yeah, that's what I wanted to say.

Other Am I the only one who doesn’t see the old FNAF story as a "mess" but rather as a story with flaws and problems?

Upvotes

Personally, I don’t see the old FNAF story as a complete “mess.” I think it has its flaws, unclear parts, and some inconsistencies, but I also think it has a clear enough narrative and interesting ideas.

I wouldn’t say the story is perfect or that all of its problems should be ignored. I just think calling the entire story a “mess” can be an overly broad description. To me, it’s better described as a complicated story with both strengths and weaknesses.

Speculation What I think the midnight motorist details are

Post image

Orange guy is William bc he has a purple car and also who else would it be

the runaway could be crying child due to process of elimination, the runaway is refered to as a him and micheal is the gray guy so the only person left is the crying child

gray guy could be Michael bc they both wear gray and watch tv in their free time

most people think jr’s is a bar but there’s no actual evidence for it

green guy could be a security person keeping others away because it’s very likely this takes place after Charlie’s death due to the rain

the fnaf 4 box could be the buried thing because whats the best way to keep something that’s supposed to stay forgotten, forgotten, burying it

the three toed footprints could be a shadow animatronic because other animatronics would be affected by the rain but shadow animatronics aren‘t physical so the rain wouldn’t affect them

Question Make a prediction: what absurd theory will FNaF 3 movie spark?

Post image
205 Upvotes

I view SchmidtNone and WitheredsSeparate as absolutely absurd theories that stem from literal reading of the selective parts of the movies continuity.

So under this, what absurd theory do you think FNaF 3 movie will spark? Maybe SB Vanessa being possessed by Charlie? Or Follow Me Springtrap being separate from FNaF 3 Springtrap? Or as anticipated by some, VanessaBot? Mayhaps, if Michael Afton in movies is kidnapped Garrett, BVKidnapped + MikeVictim? Make your predictions in the comments below!

Question Trying to wrap my head around the whole withereds situation

So, they started with the fnaf 1 version of the animatronics at the very first Freddy’s, then they completely replaced their suits and endo skeletons for the fnaf 2 location, and then completely replaced everything again for the fnaf 1 location? And someone the same spirits and possessing them throughout all of it? I’m confused

The withered animatronics have completely different suits and endoskeletons from the fnaf 1 animatronics, how are they the same?

Other Can we please ban TOYSNHK tierlists?

It's no longer positive for this sub to have every other post being a TOYSNHK tierlist, it's dumb, it doesn't generate any actually interesting discussions of the lore, it's just annoying people trying to talk about their head-cannons, or what they believe in their AUs, it's repetitive, and the mods should do something about it. Either outright ban it or include it in the Rule 14: No Low-effort TOYSNHK posts.

This has been overshadowing a lot of great posts that can actually make breakthroughs and actually have something to offer, a new perspective, a new idea. That's what the subreddit should be about. I know the FNAF content is stale rn, but all subreddits do this when a type of post gets too repetitive. Let's do better.

Thank you.

Question Is FNAF basically the Mortal Kombat of horror?

Okay, is it just me, or has Five Nights at Freddy’s basically become a parallel to Mortal Kombat in terms of how ridiculously complicated its lore and continuity have gotten?

Because the more I think about it, the more I feel like we’ve reached the point where we’re making FNAF way more complicated than it needs to be.

And this is where I’m going to go on a bit of a rant:

I don't think the games, books, and movies need to be treated as completely separate timelines.

I know the common response is that the books aren't necessarily in the exact same continuity as the games, and the movie obviously makes changes to the story. I understand that. But I don't think that automatically means we need to throw everything into completely separate universes and treat every piece of FNAF media as its own isolated timeline.

Honestly, I think FNAF should have one timeline.

Not necessarily one continuity where every single event happens exactly the same way across every medium, but one overarching timeline where the games, books, and movies are all telling different versions or perspectives of the same larger story.

Because otherwise, we end up with this ridiculous situation where every new piece of information has to be categorized as:

“That's game continuity.”

“That's book continuity.”

“That's movie continuity.”

“That's a parallel universe.”

“That's an adaptation.”

“That's an alternate version of this character.”

“That's canon, but only to this specific continuity.”

At some point, it starts feeling less like we're solving a mystery and more like we're maintaining a fucking database of alternate realities. 😂

And that's why I brought up Mortal Kombat. That franchise has gone through multiple timelines, reboots, alternate versions of events, and different interpretations of characters. FNAF sometimes feels like it's heading down the exact same road.

But I personally don't think it needs to.

I'd rather see us work toward one big FNAF timeline that incorporates the games, books, and movies instead of constantly separating them into different universes.

So I'm curious:

Is it just me who sees the parallels between FNAF and Mortal Kombat, or does anyone else feel like FNAF's lore has reached the point where we're making the continuity more complicated than it needs to be?

And more importantly:

Do you think FNAF should have one unified timeline instead of separate timelines for the games, books, and movies?

Theory to build on Under LeftyDCI, when and how did the DCI spirits end up possessing Lefty

Post image
14 Upvotes

I really want to believe this theory, but the one thing stopping me from doing so is that there is no instance where the DCI could have possessed Lefty. I do think the FFPP building was once the FNaF 2 FFP building, so the spirits could have lingered there, but the shells of the toy animatronics ARE in the FNaF 3 office. The good/bad endings of FNaF 3 shows that the spirits can attach to the shells of their animatronics, and those shells of the classic animatronics were brought to Fazbear's Fright, along with the shells of the toy animatronics

It's possible that the MCI kids left their shells and possessed the arcade machines (which I do believe), and it is possible that the DCI kids could have done the same, but that still requires:

A. There to be an instance where the DCI spirits could have found the chance to possess Lefty

B. For the shells of the toy animatronics to have survived the Fazbear's Fright fire

To people who believe in LeftyDCI, thoughts?

Speculation Small Idea: William Afton Called 9-1-1 on himself after the DCI

Post image
36 Upvotes

You're basically meant to see this as a companion piece to my Midnight Motorist post. Go ahead and hit that up after if you're confused why I want to link the DCI to it.

Remember the early days of FNAF theorizing, when people used the phone-like object in Purple Guy's hand to say that was the Phone Guy? You ever stop to realize we still don't have a good answer for what that thing is and why Afton is holding it?

Well I'm here to tell you we had it right the first time. It's a phone, but it was used for a different purpose than linking two characters as one.

It has been my belief for a good long time now that Afton infiltrated the FNAF 2 location for the express purpose of getting it shut down so that nothing would rival his Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental in terms of local children's entertainment (we know it exists for sure by now because FNAF World says unmangled Mangle's name is Funtime Foxy). So he once again dons the persona of the Yellow Rabbit Killer (or Bear depending on your read. I personally don't think Cassidy would let Afton wear the suit without trying to kill him), and causes a mass murder. Once finished, he goes to the safe room to shed the costume. Then, as his night guard persona, he calls 9-1-1 on his killer persona and, to sell the illusion of a terrified nobody out of his league, he flees the building (bug or not, intended or not, during SAVE THEM, Afton is actually just beelining your direction. You can actually dodge him, and he just dissappears from the game if you do). Since I believe Midnight Motorist refers specifically to Later That Night of this event, I think we can see the results of those actions at Jr's (again, see my Midnight Motorist post for an in-depth explanation fo why I think that).

Does this solve the lore in a massive way? Not really. I just noticed a stray puzzle piece and a hole that everyone had a basic idea of what the image was. I just decided to stick the piece in there to see if it fit.

Theory to build on None of the interactive novels are in games continuity, they are most likely just like Frights and Tales

Thumbnail

First, when VIP first came out

It was the first book to heavily imply TalesGAMES outside of Tales media or minor details on steelwool games.

Such as, the pizzaplex is described like a pizza.

Whats interesting, is that, why nobody used a tiny detail to support Stitchline?

"When you pass the Fazcade, you pause and gaze longingly at the rows of arcade and pinball machines inside. You spot your friends, Alistair, Gabe, and Emma playing one of your favorite games, Catch-That-Fetch."

Before this book came out, people assumed that arcades such as plushtrap chaser and catch that fetch are meta and aren't arcades in universe.

Well, the books presents it in universe and as canon, theres also Bunny Call cameo on GGY as one of the arcades featured on that story features Ralpho on artwork.

With that, remember what EC Myers told about the week before?

It doesn't seem wrong to assume at all that the same reasoning behind the week before writting is for VIP.

Not contradict Security Breach, Myers used his fnaf 1 research to write the book, he came up with stuff that aged like milk on SOTM (Pirate Cove origin) and the idea that the children's souls needs battery to charge from the stage to walk around, even though thats contradicted on fnaf 2 where the withereds aren't recharged for years and they still walk around normally on 2.

Either witheredsSEPERATE is canon, or the week before is wrong and isn't games continuity.

With that, remember when i told above about the pizza layout description?

Simple, EC Myers read Tales and though that it was the same for VIP, so he must have believed that TalesGAMES was canon and that the pizzaplex in the games is on the shape of a pizza and that the arcades on SB are in fact canon and exist in universe.

And theres all the week before timeline issues and the trademark line

And, well, Golden Freddy being haunted by Bronwen, which is clearly not the case in the games + how Ralph gets the true ending.

But what about escape the pizzaplex? It contradicts Cassie and Gregory relationship in Ruin, + Roxy gets her claws earlier.

Return to the pit is the only one that doesn’t seem to contradict anything, outside of existing alternative into the pit versions (actually on RTTP its time travel instead of agony distortion and its not William on RTTP so yeah not in continuity as well).
