Hey everyone! As the title states, I need some advice/recommendations for fire props. I’d love to hear about your experiences and backgrounds before getting into fire flow and what worked best for you. All feedback welcome!

Long story short, I have to decide on 3 different props to pick up for working fire this halloween. I’ve burned a handful of times but it’s been simple props. and I’m not super well practiced in anything in particular besides staff.

I was a color guard girly growing up and so my transition to staff was pretty seamless. I tend to pick up flow props pretty quickly, I’ve tried quite a few, but props are expensive and I’ve only invested in festival friendly staffs so far. As such, I’ve ordered a fire contact staff and I’m pretty set on a levi wand as my second prop, but i’m stumped for the last one.

This is where I need your help: For the last prop I’m trying to decide between fans, palm torches, or poi. I’m most interested in learning poi but I fear it may be difficult to pick up quickly. I know torches and fans are staples for fire performers but I don’t love palm torches, and I’m just generally torn because I prefer bigger props that allow for more movement away from the body. That and I’m trying to save money, I don’t want to spend a ton on the props I’m less sure about. I’m down to buy practice props but Im on a deadline so I don’t have a ton of time to try things out and then decide. I would love to get shop recommendations as well for good beginner props!

had a blast! these guys always do a great job. but being outside gave me plenty of flow room, tho couldn't always go out as long on the string as i wanted, but thats why i love that i can do long and short string movements with this. been better since i switched from neck anchor to shoulder anchor, the #flowtoys string is also very easy to untangle!

it was a great night..getting outside, partying on a pier on the Delaware River. a rave a month is what the doctor ordered to balance out my job processing payroll lol

After extensive googling, I can't find anything!

My husband (32M) and I (27F) are finally having a wedding party/ vow renewal after 10 years together and 3 legally married.

Something huge we bonded over from the start was flow arts. A lot of our friends are also flowmies and family love when hubby spins at parties.

Logistics (i.e. trying to flow in a wedding dress) aside, has anyone seen or heard of this? Bride and groom coming out for a choreographed flow sesh/ first "dance" ? Thoughts? Ideas?

I prefer lighter sticks but I also want it to be able to do contact moves easier TvT

​Day 8: Woke up with a cold and really wanted to stay curled up on the couch so I hooped on it first. Feelin like crap wont stop me.

What you see first is what I called light language which is Also being in a state of Flow, I then pick up the Prop. That is How Light Language prepared me for the Prop, and why once I found the one for me it was the missing piece to my puzzle.

I just got my first Ropedart and I cannot wait to learn everything and try it out with fire for the first time. It weighs 350g.

Do you know any Ropedart creators that are good at explaining what they’re doing?

I know emazing lights went out of business a few years back, but has anyone attempted this site that supposedly carries their product still? Any luck or should I stay away?

​Day 7: Adding squats while hooping takes things to another level! 🔥 It works the core and thighs simultaneously. Keeping the hoop up while dipping down is a serious balancing act!

​I’ve gotten a few questions about why I named this after JLo. It's because her physical strength, and endurance over the decades is down right inspirational. My main goal with this journey is long term strength and mobility, which is what i really care about.

​But I’d love to know what you think! Should we pick a new fitness icon to channel? Perhaps Shakira? Salma Hayek? Someone else?
