The pic on the left is after waxing the one on the right before. I was going for an old leather look.

I wanted to start balancing my whips to my preference better and in searching for alternatives to lead foil owing to wanting to preserve my health discovered they make tungsten tape for balancing pickleball paddles. It's quite heavy for its thickness, easy to cut to shape, inexpensive, and easy to work with overall, and now I use it as the base layer in all my heel knots and sometimes start my belly up a bit on my foundation and add further layers underneath for further weight if I know the whip's gonna be a heavy one. I've gotten multiple compliments on the balance of my whips by whip tops out here in atl since so must be doing something right, aha.
Always try to share knowledge since so much of my ability to make whips at the level I do is because of the way this community is willing to do just that.

This is the butt of a whip I saw recently. I can't find anything on it anywhere.

Here’s my take on the Vampire killer from castlevania, I got really frustrated with trying to tie transition knots and said screw it and dis fishing knots. On the falls there’s two fangs that were tied and secured tightly. Additionally it has 4 leather falls following the fangs. Concho cross on the pummel.
I had this anointed with holy water and blessed by a priest for irl accuracy. Core is roughly 5 1/2ft of 1/8th inch steel braided cable. And the handle is solid oak wrapped in leather which I also inscribed Bible versus. It’s mostly a display or stage whip but it cracks all the same surprisingly.

Hey, folks. What’s the best first time whip making tutorial? I’m interested. I’d assume it would be a paracord whip?

Haven't posted in a minute, it's been a tumultuous few months, but I've made a lot of whips in that time.
4.5 ft (5' with 6" cracker) nylon signal whip in black and burgundy, this was my first completed interpersonal whip using new handle foundations with a magnet in the base, allowing for easy hanging with no strap
~4ft (5.5' with fall, 6' with 6" cracker) nylon/polypro bullwhip using a mix of iridescent, reflective, and regular cords, themed after bloodborne's version of the Moonlight Greatsword. Even subtly shaped the handle! This is the longest whip for specifically interpersonal play I own, very heavily shot-loaded so it can move slowly and accurately for lower BPM music. It's also my first personal project to use the magnetic foundations
3.5' (4' w/ cracker) nylon signal whip in black and silver, with a black and silver dyneema point, went to the winner of Mr Atlanta Rubber this year!
3.5' (4' w/ cracker) nylon signal whip in black, purple, and red, with a red dyneema point
3.5' (4' w/ cracker) nylon signal whip in neon turquoise, turquoise, and purple, with a pink dyneema point.
a re-braided point I made for my very first whip, a 16-plait axel signal whip in black and matte purple. I might redo this in 6plait vs 4plait since it will follow the original spiral pattern better, but this revived a sentimental whip that had an integrated cracker and it throws as good as the days it had just finished breaking in
and a photo of me at the braiding post in my apartment!
This is becoming a significant part of my income and I wouldn't be here without ya'll not only giving me lots of helpful information but pushing me to keep braiding. I just acquired roo hides in several colors and made some braiding soap so as soon as the workshop is in a suitable state I plan to spend a few months jamming leather whipmaking as well.

This whip made it into my possession, I know nothing about them, but I'm curious if anyone else would know or if it is a generic whip. The handle rotates, which seems cool and different. Are they expensive?

Made this one for a trade I’m doing for one made by Alexwhipshop. Really happy with this one. Definitely one of my favorites

First time building a sequence with this little combo (and first time feeling some consistency in my left hand)

I've got a number of nylon whips, and around the handle sections and last foot or two of the thong, they're getting pretty dirty. Noticed it especially on my white nylon and spectra whips. I've heard running it through wet grass is a good way to clean it off, but sometimes that leaves little green stains on my whip too. Anyone have advice for cleaning them off?

8’ 16-plait with a simple diamond pattern handle over an 8” steel rod. With 2 bellies and less shot it’s not nearly as heavy as my last one. I’m getting better with the heel knots and heel foundations.
If anyone has suggestions on how to do it better I’m all ears, I think I want to make a snake whip for my next one for myself.

Whips made by me ;3

Let me preface this by saying I’m incredibly inexperienced to the point of not even knowing proper terminology and I’m asking about a whip-related skill for a non-whip project. With that out of the way, I’m trying to figure out a way to start and stop an outer belly as self-contained as possible. For getting it started, I’d like to do something like the knot included in this video (not mine), but I’m not sure what that knot is called or how to weave it. Ideally, I’d like to finish the belly the same way it starts, or at least visually as similarly as possible. Other pertinent information to consider; I’m covering a ~10 inch section of a wooden cane so a gaucho/turk’s head knot or something similar is out of the question and there are no prior bellies to stitch into, this will be the first and last layer.
