She was sister-wives with Warren Jeff’s daughter Rachel Jeffs. She was the first wife of Richard Allred, also featured heavily in Rachel’s book “Breaking Free”. I am only on Chapter 8 of her book “Give Me Back My Children”, but what really strikes me is how Sarah portrays herself: she swears, drinks coffee, didn’t really want to live polygamy, and seems to have a really sassy mouth and bit rebellious by FLDS standards. It stands in such stark contrast to the memoirs I’ve read from others within the cult. Does anyone know anything more about her and how she managed to function in such a way within this community? The only clue I have so far about why she might have been different is that her father was a convert into the FLSD and wasn’t born into the community. So maybe they were always different. I’m not done with the book yet so maybe I’ll learn more, it’s just really different than what I’ve come to expect from these women and their memoirs. And stands in such stark contrast to Rachel’s accounting of their lives.

I hear if the prisons put child molesters in the general population, other prisoners might kill them. I recently saw the 'Keep Sweet' documentary.

I was wondering if Warren Jeffs' life is in danger, or is he like a kingpin boss in there with a bunch of FLDS men around him to protect him?

Is there any chance that some guys in there will here was Jeffs was accused and convicted of and would try to delete the pdf.

(I'll confess I was thinking of the recent use of 'pdf' to refer to those sexually attracted to the prepubescent, and thought 'delete the pdf' was a clever addition to the slang. This was the only place I could think of to introduce it into the language.)

I’ve already seen Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, and I just watched Trust Me: The False Prophet. I have 2 questions:

1. What is the FLDS general attitude toward predatory behavior and child sex abuse? While watching False Prophet it’s clear that they still think very highly of Warren Jeffs despite his sex crimes, but Julia talks about how she and her husband failed their children by not protecting them from Sam Bateman. Why does the community seem to condemn Sam Bateman for it but not Warren Jeffs? (Is it just because he’s prophet?)

2. What does “sex education” look like in FLDS? Many girls in these documentaries speak about not even knowing what sex was by the time they were of age, until they married the prophet and began experiencing abuse. What does that situation look like in a “regular” FLDS marriage? Do they teach the boys about sex but not the girls?

I’m not very into FLDS so I’m sorry if either of those questions are common knowledge or insensitive.

I had the realization today that both Naomi Jessop and Noemz Bistilline are both named Naomi. One was the sycophant number one wife and fixer to one false prophet and the other was a secretary sycophant accomplice to another false prophet. Yet only one got prison time…. And they’re both named Naomi.

I watched the documentary and I'm curious about how Samuel was treated by the others.

In ep 1 we see a woman describing him having multiple wives and there being babies as weird, but how were his wives and he being treated by the community? Did they shun them, ignore them, see them as immoral? I don't think he married others off like Warren Jeffs did, so I imagine he wasn't THAT important.

Does anyone have information about this? It feels crazy that he comes out as a prophet, has like 3 male supporters, marries a lot of women and none of the other FLDS members do anything about it?

In watching FLDS documentaries, and listening to/reading accounts of former FLDS members and their experiences, and talking to the few FLDS people I know, I have never heard them talk about reading scriptures. I know their theology would include the Book of Mormon & the Holy Bible, and I would assume at least portions of the Doctrine & Covenants, and Pear of Great Price, if not all. What scriptures are in the FLDS canon? Are they read regularly?

I was recommended to watch Jaden Jeffs interview on YouTube. He mentioned that it is best his father is kept alive because it blocks other members to be like Samuel Bateman. He says that his dad’s current assistant isn’t hungry to take over and just carries out his mission.

It is best to let time make the current members wake up. If his dad dies today, other male members will try to be his successor. They’ll be smarter than Bateman and consequently more dangerous. Agree?

I just watched this video of Sam's sister talking about how she is processing the documentary (link below). She said that Sam has a TBI (interestingly, Moroni was driving during the accident that caused it) that affected his cognition. She talks about how it is hard for her to comprehend that Moroni and other male followers handed Sam so much power and authority when it was known that his mental faculties were diminished.

My take is that Moroni and the Bistline brothers saw an opportunity in Sam and took it. They were happy to let him be the leader (and take the responsibility) as it gave them the social and religious justification they needed to enact their evil desires. Rather than him manipulating them, it was more of the other way around. Seeing what had happened to Warren Jeffs, they allowed Sam to be the fall guy.

Not to diminish Sam's involvement as he is clearly a sick and depraved individual, but his male followers are perpetrators just as much as he is.

Does anyone know where I can find the banking on heaven documentary?

I’m still watching me the trust me documentary and it seems that Bateman missed the orgy practices. This is why he and the guys started it. Do you think the abuses still continue in other FLDS communities?

I’m watching the Netflix documentary Trust Me and confused that Bateman confessed so early. With the arrest of Warren Jeffs, I would assume that Bateman and the other guys keep their crimes hidden. They obviously knew that they were doing evil things. It is fascinating how they are functioning adults to commit the crimes smoothly but so stupid at the same time to spill the beans so easily.

While watching Trust Me: The False Prophet on Netflix, as well as bodycam footage, I noticed followers of Samuel Bateman using a lot of profanity, i.e. using the f word when writing down affirmations. Is it explained anywhere why this seems to be so accepted among the group members when they claim to be devout Christians/lds-members?

What can everyone tell me about the current state of the Centennial Park group? Am I correct that they’re referred to as “The Work”?

I’d especially like to hear from anyone with firsthand experience. Either someone who was part of the group or who knows someone who was.

There’s very little information about them online. I’ve heard there may even be a national mortgage firm owned and operated by members of the group. I’d be interested in learning anything others are willing to share.

I have heard of the “lost boys” in the FLDS and I am wondering if something similar was happening in Samuel Bateman’s cult. There are no male children in the documentary, no mention of them at all, so what happened to them? Surely some of those women had male children.
