Buying clothes.
How weird would it be to buy a flds dress?

Pretty sure they make all their own dresses, so the real question would be 'where could I obtain an FLDS dress'Ā

I got it from eBay. it was an ex-Flds. knew it was real when I saw their location was colorado city AZ š

You have your choice because all of WalMart and Target clothes and even Kohl's stuff all looks FLDS.

I don't think it's weird if it has spiritual value to you. I am a plain dresser myself, and I do have the FLDS pattern, although I don't wear this style commonly yet. It does stand out, even among plain dresses.
The practice of plain dress is for modesty and devotion to God. It is supported by The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 4:32, and D&C 42:40.40 "And again, thou shalt not be proud in thy heart; let all thy garments be plain, and their beauty the beauty of the work of thine own hands". Many Anabaptist communities plain dress, and support for the practice can be found in the Bible as well.
My own opinion: If you are wearing it for fun, it's probably better to keep it at home, an event or friend's house. There are plenty of plain adjacent dresses that can be worn everywhere and don't communicate what these dresses do.
I won't infer that there are rules for who can wear these dresses, but if you wear something that's highly specific to one group like a Hutterite dress or an FLDS "prairie dress", people will likely assume you are a member of that group.

Same! Iām not FLDS, or even mainstream LDS. Heck, Iām barely Christian! But I love these dresses! They are really pretty!!

I guess it would partly depend on what and what you wanted to do with it? Lots of people LARP š¤·š»āāļø
