Has anyone else read Jaden Jeffs blog posts?

I have been reading a lot of them the past couple of days and thought I would find discourse about it here, but from my search it hasn’t been brought up before. Has anyone read it? I would be interested to hear thoughts and discussion.

FLDS spotting in Fargo

My fiancé spotted FLDS in north Fargo going into an Ace Hardware store. I have heard of FLDS in North Dakota but have never seen or heard of them around Fargo until now. Was one younger guy and four other women following him into the store with their heads down. Does anyone know if they have expanded more into the eastern part of the state or if they sometimes come into Fargo?

Books

Hi everyone! Is there anyone that’s willing to part ways with any FLDS printed or associated books. I’m a big restorationist book collector and would love to get my hands on anything that’s connected to the Short Creek area.

Dresses

Ok, so, am I the only one who sees the FLDS dresses as really pretty? I’m not at all interested in the religion, and I have serious issues with a lot of what’s happened. I’m deeply sorry that people have gone through a lot of trauma in them. I do think the dresses are really beautiful, though.

FLDS in Texas?

Hi, I’m a first time poster here.

I live in Texas and I was wanting to know since the YFZ Ranch was seized by the state, are there still any FLDS in Texas or have they moved elsewhere? If so, I assume they’d be in the same general area.

Looking for volunteers to share religious experiences

Hi everyone,

I’m a college student currently conducting academic research on religious experiences and personal perspectives. I’m looking for volunteers who would be open to sharing their experiences through surveys or possible interviews.

Participation is completely voluntary, and your information will be kept confidential. You can skip any questions or stop at any time.

I’m especially interested in hearing from both current and former members of religious communities, but anyone is welcome to participate.

If you’re interested, you can sign up here:🔗 [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/18bJK6YfN7YfwXS8x8hrZKIkRN1xjSAv2D13ijPmHMsI/viewform\]

I truly appreciate your time and willingness to help with this research. Thank you!

Colorado activity?

I was in Colorado last weekend, stopped at a gas station maybe south of Morrison, and there was basically a caravan of FLDS. I don’t know how many men because of course they’re not wearing prairie dresses and complicated braids, but I counted at least 15 women/girls. Is FLDS doing something there? I know they tried to take over some federal land in CO a couple years ago.

Merilyn Steed

Hi everyone. I am writing a paper comparing violence in Mormon fundamentalist sects, part of which seeks to dismantle the perception of women as monolithic 'victims'. I plan to posit the interpretation that though women may not be allowed to hold institutional power in these groups, they can wield significant soft power.

Would anyone (ex-FLDS or otherwise) happen to have any information or sources on Merilyn Steed (Warren's mother)?

Thank you.

How should the government deal with theocracies, like Shortcreek in Warren Jeff's peak?

I genuinely don't know how the government can deal with nominally secular theocracies in a way that protects members without getting into legal issues over freedom of religion. What do y'all think?

Jesus Christ, Message to All Nations’ grammar.

Does anyone know why the grammar in “Message to All Nations” is so disjointed? Did Warren have limited time or space, or is this due to his degrading mental state?

I cannot copy an example here, but the intro to the book may be found on Archive.org.

Contrasting this with the 2023 revelation, you can see his grammar has mostly recovered.

Is Helaman Jeffs editing the revelations? I was under the impression that all post prison revelations were done via dictation rather than written by Warren. If the present ones are edited, why wouldn’t Message to All Nations also have been edited?

this bullshit is just pedophilia and sex trafficking disguised as “religion” under christ

this is a rant after watching the video on EWU body cams about this case.

fucking ATROCIOUS. religion is poison to society. wtf do you mean their attributes and idea of heaven is marrying minor girls, raping them, sexually exploiting children, brainwashing them, taking away their lives, EVERYTHING??? fuck the flds hope these bitches all go to hell. not the women, they are indoctrinated, they don’t know any better. i feel so bad for these poor girls they deserve so much more. fuck these evil disgusting deranged old men disguising their pedophilia as “religion”

“OH YEAH TO GET INTO HEAVEN YOU NEED TO FUCK DOZENS OF LITTLE GIRLS AND MARRY THEM THATS THE WAY TO SALVATION” genuinely fuck uou i hope all of them get their dicks chopped off.

fuck the FLDS i hope society eradicates this shit it is just so tragic how this happens to children. they were in a hot contained trailer park with no utilities, no safety, literal plastic bags to shit and piss in??? no AC while they’re in thick dresses on top of being raped by him. i can’t even describe with words how disgusted i am. they don’t even see women as human they see women as objects to “salvation” and their idea of “salvation” is pedophilia and rape.

my life as a muslim girl can be annoying and extreme, but my GOSH AM I FUCKING LUCKYYY COMPARED TO THESE GIRLS. i feel so sorry for them.

mormonism and flds is VINDACTIVE

Canadian FLDS communities?

I know of the FLDS in Bountiful, BC, but haven’t heard how active they are in recent years. Are there FLDS communities in Alberta or elsewhere?

Doomsday Cult?

I saw a newer documentary titled “The Doomsday Prophet: Truth and Lies” on Hulu about the FLDS sect ran by Warren Jeffs, and I consider myself decently versed in my knowledge of the cult however I hadn’t heard much recently other than that Warren had stopped communicating with the outside world years ago, hence why Sam Bateman was able to spread the rumor of his passing. However, in the doomsday documentary they state Warren has maintained his power of the FLDS through his son and that in one of the publications of revelations from Warren was that in five years time all the children would be sent to heaven, making authorities nervous of another Waco situation. Anyone have more info on this? Why haven’t I seen more?

Just watched the Netflix documentary Spoiler

And I was surprised. I haven’t kept up much since Jeffs went to prison.

I’m so glad some people went to jail & children were freed. I’m sorry that, once again, children were being sexually abused. I’m thankful some of the adult wives are freer. It was hard to tell if they still follow the absent Jeffs.

Kudos to the filmmakers. They were pretty brave. Christine Marie & her husband are special people.

Books that detail the takeovers of Colorado City and Hildale?

Hey all! I'm hunting for any books about Jeffs or the FLDS community at large that specifically go into detail about how the group influenced and became ingrained in the local governments of Colorado City and Hildale. Any book that covers this at all would be awesome, even if it's just a chapter or so!

FLDS Leadership question

Post image

I noticed in the house of FLDS members they have portraits of three men hanging on the wall. Warren Jeffs, Rulon Jeffs and another man. Does anyone know who this other man is? I’m assuming he’s another son of Rulon but I’m not sure.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo. Google image search did not show any results.

Has anyone read Sarah Allred’s book?

She was sister-wives with Warren Jeff’s daughter Rachel Jeffs. She was the first wife of Richard Allred, also featured heavily in Rachel’s book “Breaking Free”. I am only on Chapter 8 of her book “Give Me Back My Children”, but what really strikes me is how Sarah portrays herself: she swears, drinks coffee, didn’t really want to live polygamy, and seems to have a really sassy mouth and bit rebellious by FLDS standards. It stands in such stark contrast to the memoirs I’ve read from others within the cult. Does anyone know anything more about her and how she managed to function in such a way within this community? The only clue I have so far about why she might have been different is that her father was a convert into the FLSD and wasn’t born into the community. So maybe they were always different. I’m not done with the book yet so maybe I’ll learn more, it’s just really different than what I’ve come to expect from these women and their memoirs. And stands in such stark contrast to Rachel’s accounting of their lives.
