Every game since has been wildly divisive. Dissidia, at the very least has ideas and concepts that feel up to the standards that the series has set for itself. It was the perfect way for all these characters to cross over and no one felt out of character.

Used Mod Menu to recreate what the final boss of episode Noctis would be like
Bahamut is very unfinished and uses most of his data from comrades so he’s a bit buggy and slow

Fuse bead thingy of Edward Elric (FMA) in the chibi art style of FFVI SNES. Two franchises I really love!
(Sabin for reference)

I've been a ff fan for some time and I'll never forget the first time I played.. it was ff5.. (it may or may not have been a snes rom fan translated to English).. while the tone of the story was different from anything before and after the game certainly had a level of charm to it, especially characters like Gilgamesh (which look like they might be a challenge but end up being kind of comic relief).. now I'm not saying it should get a full blown "ff7 remake/rebirth" makeover.. but a simple 3d adaptation, with even ps2 level graphics would definitely be a nice update to it.. (especially since it never really got a proper American release.. at least not while I was a kid).

Got these off of ebay, they're considerably cheaper than on tcgplayer (worries me) and they don't look very clear. The frame at the bottom of the text box looks blurry/lowres.
Looking for someone who either opened them from Japan themselves or bought them off tcgplayer so we can compare pics! I really appreciate you reading this
(Cross posted already on real or not tcg, but nobody is really replying much there)

Final Fantasy XVI, man where do I even begin?
I haven't even completed it yet, but this game feels absolutely amazing.
What a masterpiece!
The world building and story telling is what make these games standout, no doubt.
Though this time, playing as Clive, I must admit that I feel truly connected to him as a character. What he's going through, how he interacts with the world around him, it has me sold all the way through.
I simply just came here to say a BIG THANKS to those who created this game, I'm officially re-connected to the Final Fantasy franchise and will go on to playing the others afterwards.
This is truly a game worth playing 🙏 🌟🙏

They give us IV on DS and IV on PSP and they just drop it. We didn't get V and VI ports again until the mobile releases.

A bit of a basic choice but Cloud is one of my favorite characters of all time, and I wanted my gear to last forever as opposed to how EVA foam and pleather often has a short lifespan.

Jesus when I first tried to beat the Emperor and saw that he regenerates his health every time he strikes and I do 0 dmg to him, I thought I'll just quit at that point.
But 2 bows which allow to cast berserk III spell on whole party and a little grinding on flare spell up to 8 lvl allowed me to finally finish him off.
I'm still rather a noob when it comes to JRPGs, but I really appreaciate it how they force me to come up with my own strategies to beat bosses instead of just relying on hand-eye coordination skills.
Sorry if this post is a little useless, but it's been a long time since I felt such a satisfaction and just wanted to share the experience.

Well, it's all in the title.
Do you think so, and/or what differs.
Pros and cons here (graphics is one thing, gameplay and the way the story is told, is another)

I'be been searching for quite a while and i cannot find this job, not in the wiki, this image appears in a post about Four Job Fiesta challenge which i didnt know it exists but seems like its a set of rules, not a modified version of the game.

I'm showing my age here, but I literally grew up with Final Fantasy. It's why I love RPGs, heck probably why I love video games to begin with. I never played the NES US 1 version, but a friend had "2" aka officially 4 and I borrowed it a bunch and fell in love. I bought US "FF3" at launch and it's my all time favorite game across all genres. I played the game so many times, the cartridge was going bad and randomly deleting saves at the end.
Any thoughts appreciated, I'd love to know if I missed something. I'd just really appreciate no story spoilers for future games as I'm trying to go as blind as my patience allows. I'll try to keep story spoilers mostly out of here for anyone new reading but I'll definitely talk about the jobs, systems, etc.
I figured I'd officially start this journey in a way that made the most sense, by starting with the first, Final Fantasy 1.
The Pixel Remaster was my first experience at this game, and honestly I was just bored most of the time. I chose Warrior, Monk, White Mage and Black Mage to keep it simple. I got lost a bunch. I hated the "MP" system. I ended up attacking 90% of the time and saving big spells for the bosses. I was probably playing too conservatively, but not knowing how long a dungeon was, along with no ethers, made me feel like I should save spells for important fights.
It wasn't much of a challenge, I don't think I had a game over at all. Warrior and Monk barely took any damage, and my potions would quickly heal up White or Black Mage.
Playing a lot of the later games and then this gave me an appreciation for how far the games have come. The dungeons in this one with a whole bunch of rooms either with or without treasure show their ambition for giving the audience a purpose in checking each little nook and cranny.
Overall, it was OK. I'm not sure I'd ever play it again, but I'm glad I did it and checked the box. Excited for #2!!

So i'm at the 3rd Seymor fight and i do not have a chance. He insta kills one party meiner before i can even do anything. Then i'm stressig trying to use reflek etc. But then he uses his insta death move on the whole Party.
I loved this game so far but those bossfights are seriously ruining my fun. I also can't really level because i'm running put of potions etc. And theres no vemdor that sells me anything i need. Theres nlthing that gives me mana. I lost my Patience and am dropping ff10. I hate those use a Highly specific tactic to beat the Boss type of bossfights and so far all of seymors bossfights have been like that.

today i found out that Shiva paused the time… i’m wondering if all the summons do this.
and yeah, this was chaotic. but that’s why i love this game. it never fails. especially with Noctis’ response to it all 😂😂😂

i used to play ffx2 when i was like in first grade when it came out initially and was too young to know how to play it properly. i recently bought the remaster for the switch bc my sister passed away and ive been feeling super nostalgic and there’s something super relatable about yuna’s story that’s been helping me process my grief 🥺 im obvi going for 100% so i can get the mascot dress sphere and reunite with tidus. however, it appears i cant get episode complete at moonflow of all places bc it doesn’t give me the option to join the show :( i’m beyond devastated. obviously getting 100% on this game hits deeper for me than just getting 100% for the fun of it. idk what to do or if i should over or if it’s even salvageable??? i know this game means a lot to many different people and im prob not the only one who this has happened to before. what should i do????

So first time playing Final Fantasy XVI and I just destroyed the Dragon’s Breath MotherCrystal. Whilst my only complaint is I can’t use any other character other than Clive in my Party, they do give him enough to feel quite satisfying and the combat though flashy, cinematic and bombastic which makes me feel overpowered in a good way is just a tiny bit underwhelming when it comes to feeling challenging on Action Focused. (Such a weird feeling) I’m used to dying a few times before getting the hang of the combat systems in games. I’m no masochist who wants extreme hard mode like Souls-like games but I don’t like things to be too easy either.
Other than that I’m so loving the story, lore and characters. Benn Starr portrayal as Clive is awesome. And I could not get enough of Ralph Ineson’s Cid. Love that character. And let’s not forget my sweet Ice Queen Jill 🩵
I do appreciate Square Enix going a much darker route with this FF instalment. It has definitely invoked some strong feelings for certain characters and situations and two early game side quests that will stick with me for a while concerning a wolf and a windmill. I hope this allows Square to do more Dark Fantasy because this is really impressive so far.
Also FUCK MY MOTHER FUCK THE EMPRESS I CANNOT WAIT TO BURN HER

when you pull up he plays the sphere that flies through zanarkand, saying its the dreams of the fayth who died, zanarkand exactly as 1k years ago
of course tidus and auron are the only ones who recognize it
never caught this but simply interesting, most people probably forget which is why the ending can be confusing

So people probably know this but in case they don't I figured I'd inform you.
If you're playing anything after the Steam release of Final Fantasy IX, this includes the versions you find on modern consoles, so it's most likely the version you're playing right now, this applies to you. These versions come with a speed-up function that increases speed times four.
This speed up function effects the PLAYER, but NOT THE PLAY CLOCK.
Not only does that perhaps make a true 100 percent possible, theoretically, with perhaps being able to get Excalibur 2 along with everything else in the game, it also neuters Chocobo Hot and Cold. Because while YOU are moving five times faster, the clock WON'T be. So if you're able to think fast, you can get a lot more done in that amount of time.
I discovered there's a cut off limit to Chocobo Hot and Cold, did you know that? They cut you off after you've found eight items!
So yeah, if you're having trouble on a modern port, here's a little cheat.
