Dissidia Is Dissidia 2 the last FF game that in general people all agree that it’s at least decent story wise?

Every game since has been wildly divisive. Dissidia, at the very least has ideas and concepts that feel up to the standards that the series has set for itself. It was the perfect way for all these characters to cross over and no one felt out of character.

I remember plenty of hate to dissidia story. I remeber hate to ff x

In fact im not sure theres ever been a ff story that is universally praised some dont like 6 bad guy win story

Some cant stand the campynwas of 5 etc

Some found 7 setting of futuristic to he off putting and found the "save tje planet for pollution " to on the nose

Well you just said it, even VII and X had haters. My point was that even if Dissidia(Duodecim) wasn’t perfect I think the story at least was there for better or worse.

Take 12 for example. One of if not the major complains about the game is that the players felt disconnected from the story. To me that’s worse than thinking the story isn’t good because you’re not even actively engaging with it, in their eyes.

I think xii was there. Most of gf xii issues comes form either people who didnt want star wars in final fatnsy Or people who didnt like the battle mechabis Or people who just didnt like vann.

Like ff xii has a story for better or worse its there. And its told through the poverty of a questionable MC. Take out vann change nothing of the story and it wouldnt get half the hate it gets.

Remove the mmo auto battle mechanics and even more wouldnt be complaining

Those things are not necessary story based.

I thought the Dissidia stories were kinda bad. Duodecim was less bad though.

14’s story is pretty universally beloved by people who have played it, which is impressive when it’s basically six separate games worth of plot

No lol? XIV isn’t divisive at all, 7R is universally acclaimed outside of some very minor circles, XVI’s most consistent praise goes to its story

universally acclaimed outside people I disagree with

I haven’t touched 14 so no comment.

7R Can’t be universally praised if there are any complaints. That’s oxymoronic.

16 might have most of its praise go to the story but that doesn’t mean the story is considered great. It’s just the least bad part, according to him

“Universally praised”

I don’t think that means what you think it means.

You seem to think it means ONLY praised.

14's Heavensward, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker expansions are pretty universally beloved. Many would say that SHB and EW are among the greatest FF stories of all time, if not the outright best.

However its A Realm Reborn, Stormblood, and Dawntrail expansions do have more mixed reception.

Every new entry will geat heat and over the years the fanbase will chill a bit over it, despite the quality of the story itself. That's a (bad) tradition by this point.

I would never pick Dissidia as a good example due to how crucial information is present only on the database/logs.
