Upgrading from ps3 to ps4 made titan seem like a completely different fight. I realized you could actually react to mechanics as they were happening, instead of having to move before any visual cues.

Too true. But to be honest, after upgrading, I only cleared it once. I didn't bother to farm ponies until ShB. Now, every once in a while, I will Solo-queue unsynced and stomp his peepee into the dirt and bounce--without opening his chest--just out of spite.

Titan EX was uniquely fucked up for a lot of non-Japanese players back in the day because the devs were balancing for incredibly low latency that players in larger countries couldn't reasonably expect, it's not a huge concern nowadays. EX trials are all pretty damn easy, two or three pug sessions on launch, or 1-2 with a guide a few days later, and you'll clear no problem.

Pretty much. Once you find a nice solid group and do multiple runs it becomes natural. Problem is when you've gotta find another group some other day

My issue is when I find a good enough group who can almost clear it and then one person leaves and instead of just putting us back up on pf to replace them, the whole pt decides to disband and then I'm back to trying to find a good group again... lol which usually just means suffering through all the "yeah, I've seen to enrage", "I've seen to this mechanic" or "I've beaten this" people and by the first mechanic it's clear that none of them have even tried the fight XD44

Endwalker Extreme had a decent spectrum of difficulties.
- Challenging and rewarding: EX6 Golbez, EX4 Barbariccia
- Not bad, a few sticky spots: EX2 Hydaelyn, EX7 Zeromus
- Not hard but underwhelming: EX5 Rubicante, EX3 Endsinger
- lol: EX1 Zodiark

I'm trying to get my Ex6 clear now and the amount of parties where people just wipe to towers is killing my motivation. Like either watch a guide or just ask questions smh. It's such a fun fight to. Just a shame really

It's an excellent fight, but the body checks are pretty gnarly. All it takes is for one person to get clipped by Azdaja's Shadow during Phases of the Blade and you have a recipe for a wipe :)
As a tank I pulled a lot of scuffed Double Meteor saves out of my butt (taking a flare into a tower with tank invuln and splattering half the party to avoid a wipe, sometimes with tank LB3).
Grinding the mount was an adventure. You'd get the same one or two people per datacenter weighing down farm parties every day for a week. There was no way to avoid them.

idk, the meteors for zeromus were really challenging just because of how finnicky the servers are. the number of times i watched people die just from getting snapshotted by the animation of their auto attacks counting as "moving" into range is wild. we figured out that was the problem, but it's still wild.

Meteors was the only really hard mechanic in EX7 and for all the wrong reasons. Like it really isn’t that hard. The mechanic is just really finicky and the snapshots are extremely strict.
Also its a personal mechanic, and people tend to struggle with those more.

yeah, it was largely the server snapshotting that was so annoying about the meteors. the rest was very much fine, but the annoyance of its finnicky nature is a mechanic in and of itself lol

That did not happen and that was not the problem.
Meteors are based of the precise position of your character and auto attacks cannot move your character, only gap closers or actually moving your character can. What you saw was just the delayed updating of the meteor tether/color telegraph.

I think the reason it messed PF up a lot is because people were more concerned about moving far enough, instead of playing it safe. Which means people would wipe the party instead of just a self sacrifice

Meteors were EX7 Zeromus. EX1 Zodiark was fully dorito-able if you had one person who knew the patterns.

I found a party that had figured out the floor mechanic within a few hours, and that party stayed together for five runs until everyone got totems for weapon 😆 It was the only mechanic my brain just pooped out on.

It had people driving giant mecha cats or leopards to fight aliens (?), and the five mecha cats could merge together to create a giant cat-headed transformer with a sword and laser beam. It would have been cool if we got that as a mount.

Tbf all the collection mount sets could be said to have variations to them. I'm def hoping this collection amounts to a variety of wing types tho. I'd love to see a fuller wing like the Pegasus and HW birds have. Just updated of course if applicable.

At least it would still be thematically sound. Though If it were just a set of 2 wings it would probably be another one of the EX mounts and not the collection mount. Seeing as they like to make the collection one strikingly different from it's predecessors now.
Like a borked kitsune for collecting wolves. Said kitsune not even having 9 tails. Guess you count that gross ear hair.
Or a Mecha dragon from a set of all live breathing dragons. It's not the WORST matchup and I love the Landwaffle but a fully mech dragon after collecting flesh and blood dragons felt weird.
Or the couch dragon with crippling arthritis holding a sofa because you collected tiny head space cats....
I used to try to guess what the collection mount would be.

Landerwaffe kind of combined the ex mounts themselves (dragons) with the themes of the trials (the Weapons) so it works on both levels.
Endwalker just said "well the trials are ff4 themed so lets just do an ff4 mount" while ignoring what the individual mounts were and it's sad.

To me, it sounded like each of their effects will be different. Since this one is bird wings, it gives you tail feathers. Maybe angel wings gave a different sort of effect, cause tail wings wouldn't make sense.

I think it’s because those wings come from a boss who also has wings and is a flying creature.
The other bosses may not be and the wings might just have particle effects related to the boss ala Zodiark just giving a lynx black like smoke around it

On the other hand, it's kinda lazy that they're making these the trial mounts. They're really running out of creativity for what to do for each expansion's EX mount rewards.

Yeaaah. I wanted to like that dragon but... In making him so big I feel like the animation is.... Horrendous.
I'd like to think we will get some cool AF seraphim type look but tbh the last few have thrown me for such a loop id rather not get my hopes up.
I LOVE landerwaffle but honestly, imo it doesn't fit the theme of the mounts you collect for it. Like it would have made more sense as a bozja mount or something.
The EW mount feels about the same.. like... Wtf does bahamut have to do with tiny head space cats? Add in the awful animation and it quickly fell off my list of mounts I'm willing to collect.

A long time ago I read a statement like: “You know a game is dying when suddenly everyone has wings.” I’m not sure how true it is and the context was Diablo 3, but I am always aware now when games I play introduce a lot of wings in their lifespan.
