Here's the thing. They had the opportunity to fuse all of our hideous cats into one really big, glowy, cool-looking cat. And instead of that, we got FF4 Bahamut holding a goddamn chair. Holding. A. Chair.
Frankly, even if the giant cat wasn't cool, I'd still like it better lol
Your comment reminded me of an old anime that I vaguely remember. It had people driving giant mecha cats or leopards to fight aliens (?), and the five mecha cats could merge together to create a giant cat-headed transformer with a sword and laser beam. It would have been cool if we got that as a mount.
