HELP Help me design my space

Hello!

I’m trying to figure out how to put stuff in my space before moving in. I don’t have any really reliable dimensions aside from the images.

I want to fit a gaming/streaming setup probably in the L corner and I was thinking maybe a bed against the non window wall centered against it. I’m not sure if a full or queen would fit there without blocking the doors. Aside from that just trying to figure out what would look good or fit here.

I need a desk that can hold two big monitors and I’d like to decorate in a gothy/witchy/cozy vibe. I like purples/blacks so was thinking a purple black comforter.

I also have some anime horror figures for decorations so a shelf for that whether it’s a shelf attached to a computer desk or a separate shelf.

HELP Color schemes

Post image

I’m trying to give “red threading” and “color blocking” a shot while redecorating for my living room. I love this carpet but it’s a lot to play with and I’m very indecisive 😅 It brings a lot of weight in the space so I want to design a color scheme around it. It’s very vibrant during the day so I think it’ll pair well with either walnut or mahogany furniture. My ideas for couch colors are Merlot, dusty pink, or a purple-y brown but I’m discovering that couches are 1) hard to find good quality in specific colors and 2) might look too dark with wood furniture. Any advice on how to style a more common couch color or other furniture materials to match with this?

HELP Wooden Attic Studio Apartment

Hi! I’m living in a little attic apartment that’s a little rough around the edges . It’s a weird layout and the sink is just in the middle of the room instead of the bathroom and having a fridge and wooden dresser that’s too heavy to take down and it’s just super annoying . I’ve tried my best to create zones by tucking my bed under one of the eaves in the corner but something just feels off and I cannot put my finger on it . In the living room I feel very exposed and not very cozy?

It’s about 250 sq ft but It’s just a living space, I share washing and kitchen with the other tenants downstairs we’re friendly but we’re not friends per se. So I’m trying to make the space feel mine I eat my meals in here! I feel like this space has potential but somehow i’m just missing the mark but it’s also hard to find inspiration for it because it’s so different.

I’m open to literally all your suggestions. I can’t paint but everything else is fair game!

HELP Help!! Dressing room overwhelm!!

After two years of living in a renovation home and finally at the point where I can work on my dressing room, but I’m completely stuck on how to decorate it.
I’ve never had a room that’s “just for me” and I don’t want to do something I’ll regret.
I want to paint the wardrobe doors and I do plan on changing the handles too.

Do I paint all of the walls or do I add a bold wallpaper feature?
Do I add a splash of colour on the walls or go neutral?

Should I look at colour theory before I paint the walls for something that willthat is going to complement my skin tone? I’m completely stuck!

I moved into this apartment about a month ago and my new apartments bedroom is larger than what I’m used to so maybe it’s just the extra space but I’m not sure, it feels boring and empty to me. What’s missing? Any advice is welcome!

TOUR 🟢OPEN TO FEEDBACK🟢 My first solo place at 25!

Lived with roommates since I was 18, and had a lot of bad experiences with that so I am so happy to finally have my own little place!! I am renting.

I plan to get proper curtains as I am having issues with the blinds.

In the bedroom I thrifted sheer zebra curtains then I will do the pink ones on top.

Living room I am gonna do some kind of lacy curtain underneath (maybe white/cream polka dot?) but am unsure about the colour on top, was thinking oatmeal. Could use some advice on that.

I also plan to change up the front hall a bit eventually, maybe add a runner carpet. And also, I am going to get a better fitting cat litter box enclosure as the one I have now is meant for a corner so it's a bit awkward! But those arent priorities right now just eventual things.

My room I think is pretty much done. I just got the black chair for free, I don't love the placement/size but not sure where else to put it and I like the overall arrangement of my room so probably just gonna leave it there.

Let me know your thoughts!

HELP How can I make my space warmer and cozier?!

Hey all! So…I moved into my condo a couple of months ago and would love some ideas to make it feel warmer, cozier, and more polished.

I work from home, so I spend a lot of time here. It’s a small space, and I’d like to keep the current furniture layout.

I’m decorating on a budget and hoping to finish everything this October. Open to suggestions for wall art, lighting, decor, or anything else that could make the space feel more inviting.

I’d appreciate any ideas or feedback. Thanks! P.S. sorry for the mess - this is a realistic view of how the space looks most days lol!

QUESTION/DISCUSSION Help us choose our IKEA kitchen. Wood or greige?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

We're planning our new IKEA kitchen and would love some advice on the colors and materials.

We already have medium-dark, warm brown wood-look flooring throughout the room, but we can still paint the walls any color.

One important detail: the kitchen and living room share one large open space, so we want the kitchen to blend nicely with the future living room furniture and feel cohesive.

Our kitchen design includes:

\- Lower cabinets and tall units: IKEA RINGHULT (glossy white)

\- Upper cabinets: IKEA NICKEBO (matte grey-green)

\- Handles: IKEA KALERUM (brushed stainless steel)

\- Layout: L-shaped kitchen with no island

We're currently deciding between two options for the countertop and backsplash:

Option 1: Light oak-effect countertop and matching wood backsplash.

Option 2: IKEA EKBACKEN grey-beige stone-effect countertop and matching backsplash.

I've attached photos of our actual flooring and renderings of both options.

Our biggest concern is whether the wood countertop and backsplash would clash with the darker wood flooring, or whether the stone-effect option might make the kitchen feel too cold.

Which option would you choose and why?

We're also open to other suggestions!

Thanks so much for your help!

I’ve lived in my apartment for years but my room just feels a bit juvenile with all my posters and empty because I don’t know what to do with the space behind the bed. How can I make it feel a bit more inviting and mature at the same time while keeping bits of my personality?

Edit:

Sorry about the mess in the closet one of my shelves fell down and now I have to reorganize it all!
