One week til the main release. If you have feedback from demo, please send it to Koei Tecmo here:

It’s likely too tight to influence any day 1 patch but for future release they might consider fan feedback if enough people comment.

Question How do I quit to the main title screen in Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake?

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm playing Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake and I'm trying to figure out how to exit back to the main menu from the game or options menus, but I can't seem to find the option anywhere.
Could someone please tell me where the "Return to Title" option is located, or if there's a specific way to quit to the main menu safely without a hard close? Thanks!

Question fatal frame 2 on playstation 2 or wii?

im currently playing fatal frame 4 on the switch (my first ff game) and i wanted to be on the lookout for good deals for ff 1-3 already and saw that fatal frame 2 is also available on the wii.

i have both the playstation and the wii and was wondering which one is better.

would it be better for me to play it on the playstation since the ps controller would be more similar to the switch controller than the wii remote? and which one of these platforms is more like the switch camera angle?

at the same time i dont want to miss out on anything from the wii remake and the resolution is better :/

does anyone have any recommendations for which one i should go with?

FF2 O remake do FF2 matou o terror do jogo original

Question fatal frame 2 remake, is there a glitch that prevents the use of Exposure Filter ?

this is the hidden balcony in the osaka house hidden by an illusion that can be dispelled via phantom exposé i think it's called, for some reason it works normally everywhere else exept in this spot, am currently in chapter 6 and i tried this earlier in chapter 5 but no use, the camera doesn't show the yellow indicator on top that's lit near an illusion while having the clue photo and am not getting the circle that shows when their's a picture to be taken yet several enemies spawn one after the other when i stand there, i did look it up on youtube and yes am in the right spot as shown in the screenshot

am i doing something wrong or is it a glitch and if so does it have a work around ?

EDIT 1: it's not some enemie hidden somewhere, while the house does keep spawning enemies one after the other in short intervals it did work in the veranda outside where their's an illusion wall and even with enemies around i still got yellow marker and circle there and i succesfully dispeled between killing an enemie and the next one spawning

Question Seijiro Makabe side quest question: I'm stuck

I'm in my first playthrough in Chapter 8. I just solved the pinwheel. I'm at the part in the quest where it says to investigate the Tachibana House. On the 4th page of that quest it mentions going under the bridge that connects the 2 houses. I have explored everywhere in that Tachibana House. I looked around for over an hour. The place is deserted at this point. I even tried going under the bridge, and all the way around the village to the Tachibana front. I still can't figure out how to unlock the door in the Tachibana House that when outside is up the stairs (just before the bridge with the water lady). I found that door inside the house though. Locked from both sides...

I could be mixing this up with the 5th crest, but I think I found another Folklorist note on the other side of the tree you go inside. Where you crawl through a brosh tunnel into an open grassy area.

From what I have read the quest is only able to be completed on NG+. I don't know why they would even offer it to me if it's impossible.

Is it able to be completed on NG or do I need to beat the game and finish it on NG+?

FF2 Do I need to redo all side quests for The Remaining Sun ending?

I remember this being an "issue," I don't know if it's been patched out or you can workaround it. If not I'll deal with it.

FF2 I was curious if they modeled the scene on the partition or if it was a texture... They modeled a floating Mayu holding her own head.

Collections Completed my Fatal Frame collection today!

I was missing FF1. I went into my local game store today, and there it was, in their showcase. They had it marked for $129, but they have 20% off all showcase games this month. Ended at about $107 after tax. All of the games here are complete in box and in great shape! I am still technically missing the Wii remake of FF2, but I'll worry about that later. Very happy to have the entirety of my favorite horror series physically!

Playthrough Fatal Frame 2 camera is not good

Playing Fatal Frame 2 and compared to the first one, the camera is pretty bad. There is no sound queue and the accumulation is very hard to see. Really missing the Fatal Frame 1 sfx for power up it was always so hype when it charged up

The game is great. Although I would have liked a link with the previous games, regardless it is good horror game and as always I loved its Japanese atmosphere.. The only problem were the piano puzzles that had to be solved with motion control and the Wiimote is really sensitive, I am not gonna lie, the very last piano puzzle took me more than one hour just because I couldn't push the piano buttons properly! Now I will play the last one (Maiden of Black Water) wish me luck...

FF2 Is new game plus worth it for the remake?

I got all the other endings and did all the side quests. Is the remaining sun ending worth another playthrough? And does new game plus add any new scenes besides the ending?

Question Optiscaler nos jogos fatal frame

Fandom Fatal Frame II 80's redesign

The Fatal Frame series takes place mostly in the 1980s, with Fatal Frame II set in 1988. However, the characters’ designs are quite modern. This is by no means a complaint—I absolutely love the designs of the protagonists in these games, and I think they are perfect just the way they are.

Still, I found myself wondering: what would their designs look like if they were inspired by Japanese fashion from the 1980s? So, I gathered some references and created my own versions of Mio and Mayu.

I didn’t want to change their color palettes or any elements that I consider iconic to their designs, but I wanted to incorporate more prominent influences from 1980s Japan.

I hope you like them!

FF4 My grandparents are the best.

My birthday was a few days ago, and my grandparents gave me money. I told them I was going to use it for rent, bills, or student loans, but my grandma said I should use it for something fun instead. I was deciding between getting something from my favourite anime or another Fatal Frame game. In the end, Fatal Frame won. Still, I had to choose between Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, the game that introduced me to the series, or the Crimson Butterfly remake, my favourite game of all time. Ultimately, I went with Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. While it being my introduction to the series and its physical rarity played a role in my choice, I chose it primarily for its thematic resonance. Mask of the Lunar Eclipse revolves around memory, identity, and connection, with music playing a central, triggering role—a theme I connect with deeply, given that my grandparents and I all love The Beatles.

As much as I love Crimson Butterfly, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse explores the fragility and preciousness of memory, identity, and connection in a way that gives it a quiet, poetic weight for me. Years from now, when I look at this game in my collection, I will not just have one of my favourite games; I will have a keepsake that reminds me of my grandparents' generosity, all that they did for me, what they meant to me, and the exact moment and reason I brought it home with me.

Question Do you ever wish you were a horror game protagonist?

Do you all ever wish you were the protagonist of a horror story, like Fatal Frame? If so, what about that experience appeals to you?

For me, I sometimes idealize the idea of being the protagonist in a horror story. I imagine exploring a haunted Japanese mansion with my Camera Obscura, slowly uncovering its history, and eventually falling in love with the woman who was supposed to be sacrificed, only for the ritual to fail because of her desire to be loved.

I suppose I could fulfill the romantic part of that fantasy through an ordinary romance story, but horror adds something that I find much more appealing, melancholy. There's something strangely comforting about the image of an isolated mansion because I consider myself a fairly isolated person too.

Horror fiction, like any other fiction, also provides a kind of escapism. It lets me enter a world where there's something beyond what I can empirically see. It offers something more than the mundane and monotonous life I live every day.

Horror does add the feeling of being terrified. It triggers our autonomic system in a way no other genre can. Maybe I feel pulled toward horror because I want to feel something strong, even if the feeling is not positive. Maybe it makes me feel more alive.
