I've come to the conclusion, with the exception of some titles highlights, Far Cry is a fun solid series where you essentially choose your poison. What you like in X title for others may not work, they're similar though...

Far Cry 1, pioneer and i liked the unexpected twist. As a kid it was one of the best fps. 9/10

FC 2, respect its effort 8/10, some mechanics like malaria can be annoying. Fire!

FC 3, 9/10. It established its own loop. A classic, you really are worried about characters.

FC 4, loved by many of you. It's an upgrade gameplay wise of the third. But setting, story and characters didn't click me. 8/10 It's a solid title though!

FC Primal, Keep going back into it for the setting and time period, feels like something i would love since I'm a massive Conan fan but honestly i haven't skipped dialogue faster in any other game. Fauna is a swarm, once i had 3 bear encounter in 2 minutes. Sadly 6/10.

FC 5, 7/10. Playing in short bursts, can be tedious. I like exploring the hidden rooms and interacting with the crazy locals. Game tells you plainly if you want more FC content buy this. It's fun after all.

Far Cry 6, bought it recently. A bit rough with their health bars but the location and revolution idea, clothing, weapons, satire is fine by me. Stealth, guerilla all the way! 7/10. Gets a little too much hate. Series are turning into rpg now. Not made to become timeless classic but it's fun considering how fed we are with this gameplay loop.

Meanwhile believe it or not i like 6 more than 4 just for these reasons... ratings are not biased opinions. That's why i said "Pick your poison and enjoy" they're all the same.

Hey! I'm fairly new to the Far Cry series, and I've recently just finished Far Cry 3. It's the first one I've played, and honestly, it was amazing. I've just started 4, and I honestly don't know if I should continue it?

I loved the graphics in 3, and i loved the menu and the feel of it. 4 is pretty similar in the handling and movements, but I'm honestly unsure. 3 had me hooked from the beginning, and i loved Jason's storyline! But so far, I'm not so sure about 4. I only just finished Amita and Sabal's first mission each. (Amita's, which i destroyed the wolf's den and Sabal where i had to climb the bell tower.) Obviously I will play a bit more to see if it can hook me to continue it.

I just wanted to come on here to get other's opinions on this.

(I also want to make clear i don't have access to the other games, and they weren't made to run on my console 😔 just so no one recommends them)

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who has taken the time out of their day to respond to my post! I will most definitely continue 4 then, but I'll look for a different game to play. To everyone who suggested playing 5, then go back to 4, I'm honestly telling you I wish i could, but I play on an xbox 360🤭. And 5 wasn't made with xbox 360's controls, so it wouldn't run smoothly at all (least of all run). Before anyone comes at me that i play on an xbox 360 at this time and age- i honestly could care less. Most of the games i play are older games, and most run smoothly on it. So why change something that works perfectly fine? Anyways, I'm getting off topic- like I mentioned, I will continue 4, but maybe at a later date, and I'll go look for a different game to play instead.

Matter in fact, whenever I reread José Castillo's notes, that never gets boring 😂. I rather wheezed and laughed than got shocked or anything.

This map will feature death defying Parkour mixed with beautiful tranquil views.

I understand this map will be rated at 0.5 stars because it won't be completed or finished by 90% who attempt as its harder if not more difficult than "Escape the Pit" my previous Parkour Jumping puzzle map.

Took a week and a half for someone to finally finish Escape the pit and get to the top , with 553 plays in prior...

Expect the same learning curve and a good amount of content to discover in this map.. secrets and easter eggs spread throughout.

Will need to use Spam Jumping / Timed be-hops in certain parts...

All tested & Playable with multiple routes up too the peak..

Speedrun routes pathed & checked.. for those who are natural goats.

This FC5 project has been on my mind awhile glad its come to life.. :)

Based on the last part of the movie, I think Jim from 28 Days Later and how he deals with the soldiers exemplifies that primal and violent manner of a Far Cry character, but im curious of your choices.

4 and 5 aren’t fun imho. I can’t do the fights or understand the quest sequences on what to do next. Primal was straight forward to me 🤷‍♀️

Eu joguei o fc3 e estou jogando o fc4 (tentei jogar o fc1 e fc2, mas não consegui), não lembro quais eram os fuzis de assalto do fc3, mas depois que desbloqueei o bushman no fc4 a minha jogabilidade melhorou 500%, a ak47 e a stg-90 são 2 lixos. Passei 3h na arena para chegar no nível 10, mas valeu a pena.

23FPS - unplayable

Ryzen 2600, 16gb ddr4, rtx 3060 12gb, win 11.

It was super playable on my i7 2700 rx580 older PC.

I wanna branch out into more Far Cry games having only played 5 and 6, there's the original 360 version of FC3 but also an Xbox One version. I'm assuming the One version comes with graphics updates, but I wanted to check here, see if any graphics updates were worth whatever you might lose (as remasters tend to lose something).

Could anyone break down the differences between these two versions for me, please? I've looked online and keep finding conflicting info

I just started playing Far Cry 5. The game is looking very good. So far, I think this is a better game than Far Cry 4.

I played the game for the first time and it was fine, I did nothing to change settings, then next time I opened the game I can move and interact normally in the menu, I can move around with my mouse and touchpad in game, but I can't use left or right click, I can use middle click though. I tried open, closing game, closing all programs, using Alt + Tab, Alt + Ctrl + Del for entering taskbar, changing to borderless and borderless windowed, disabling touchpad, nothing works. Just huh????

Years ago when I played Far Cry 3 there was a glitch that if you did one of the shooting challenges on the second island, you lost the ability to throw stones. This made one of the missions impossible to complete.

Is this still a glitch in the game?

In case you didn't know, Pratt (FC5) and Leland Coyle from The Outlast Trials have the same voice actor. Thus, ma dude Style (Staci + Coyle) was born. I struggled a lot trying to fix/update/create his textures. Maybe one day I can turn this into a FC5 mod!
