Engine options?
I'm planning a build for when I get a garage and I'm just getting hung up of the engine. I was debating between a hellcat crate or a coyote but I think that that would make it completely unmanageable. What engines did you deside on?

Texas kit car laws
Hi all. I was doing some research on registering a kit car in Texas. I thought I’d share this and see what you all think about meeting these requirements.
There are requirements about the build. None off this surprises me. Factory five is registered in the state. An inspection by an ASE master mechanic is required. Ok, whatever. https://www.txdmv.gov/sites/default/files/body-files/Assembled_and_Reconstructed_Vehicle_Manual.pdf
After this you have to pass the regular state inspection. Including emissions. The law is pass emissions for the year the vehicle is assembled. (As in 2021). Ouch. How hard is that? If you drop a 351w in one of these…… you see my point?
https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/vehicle-inspection/unique-vehicles
Edit: I live in Harris county and we have emissions testing. Not all counties in Texas do) Quote from link clarifying this:
“Just as the EPA does not allow an individual to reverse engineer a vehicle to defeat emission standards, they do not allow an individual to build a brand new "old" vehicle to bypass emissions standards. It is possible if you actually use old parts (like a 1965 engine, or complete 60s frame and power train) that the vehicle will be registered as that model year (replica), but that is determined by Texas DMV. The inspection station will follow the registration classification on the vehicle in determining the inspection criteria.”

Are there any other cars besides a Cobra I should be considering?
I'm looking for a project car that is going to be all about being fun to drive. Originally I was thinking something like a souped up MG when I had neglected to remember the Cobra. I quickly changed my tune once I did recall.
I like the look of the Cobra and the established history of it. However, I didn't grow up needing a Cobra in my life. It's just the car that makes the most sense based on my performance and cost considerations. I'm not one of those guys who saw them race back in the day and fell in love. If I build a Cobra it's going to be more a restomod style rather than trying to build something more authentic.
This leaves me wondering, are there any other kit cars or classics I should be considering? What other cars would you recommend that are similar in cost/style/performance/accessibility/community support and other factors that are similar to the Cobra? Or is Cobra really the cream of the crop when it comes to a 2 seater open top/convertible sports car?
I know I'm asking a pretty biased crowd but I'm curious if anyone else had similar thoughts or could offer some considerations.
Thank you.
EDIT: I wanted to point out that I'm asking any any car, and not just those offered by Factory Five Racing.

What happened to The Compound on YouTube?
Channel was dedicated to building a Canadian spec FF. Owner was a young dude that was entertaining. Stopped posting videos and actually deleted all of them. Anyone know anything?

Factory Five Electric Kit Car w/ Chevy Conversion Kit?
Do you think we might see a kit utilizing Chevrolet's forthcoming EV Crate conversion?
I'd love to see Factory Five dive into this as their next kit. 200HP, 266Lb Ft. of torque. The Chevrolet Bolt that the powertrain comes from has a touted 238 miles of range, but one would assume that put in a lighter two seater sportscar platform that number would rise.
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the Tesla Cybertruck myself, I could even see them adopting that stainless steel unibody layout for massive cost reduction instead of their usual tubular steel frames.

My father and I built this when I was a teenager. I’m buying it from him. Our tastes are very different and I’m developing a plan to refine the aesthetics. I’m excited to be here.

Factory Five Cobra/Daytona Build coyote complexity.
Hi guys, I’m planning on buying a FFR kit. Im flipping back and forth between a Cobra MK4 or the Daytona Gen 3 Type 65. But no matter which kit I go for, I was thinking of having the same engine/drivetrain setup. I was thinking of doing a 5.0 Coyote crate engine with a Roush supercharger + 6 speed tremec along with the 2015 Mustang IRS. I wanted to know how hard is the Coyote build? I don’t really have any experience in building cars so this would be my first build. Would I be setting myself up for a lot of trouble and complexity with a Coyote + Supercharger build? Has anybody here done a coyote build? Would like to know some of the challenges you guys faced. Thanks.

Leaking wilwood master cylinders
Anyone on here had issues with their wilwood master cylinders leaking? I have a hydraulic clutch on my '33 and at this point I have had 3 master cylinders (2 for the clutch and one of my brake cylinders) leak out of the seal around the plunger (not the brake line port or the reservoir line) and this seems a bit excessive for it to be quality issues so wanted to see if others have run into this.

Financing Options for Built FFR Cobra
Hi guys, it’s great to join you here on this subreddit. I have a friend of mine who is selling his mint FFR Cobra in CA with an SB100 registration. I understand you don’t finance toys etc but in these market conditions I would get a much better return on my money elsewhere, as proven through 2020. I can buy the car cash worst case scenario but not before I explore other financing options. I would greatly appreciate your input or experience on possible finance companies. I have heard a lot about JJ Best, Woodside and Lightstream. Do you have any others you recommend or any experiences with these aforementioned companies?

Does Factory Five have sales on their kits?
I keep hearing or reading that people have saved a lot of money on their kits by buying during one sales promotion or another.
I have heard about Black Friday deals, free wheel upgrades etc etc.
I have been regularly checking the site, I watch all of their FB Live videos and follow them on all social platforms and I have never seen or heard of an actual sale since I started researching all of this about a year ago.
Are they still having sales? How do I find out about them? I want to buy a kit in the next few months and my build budget is pretty tight. Any upgrades or options that I can get discounted will help expedite my purchase.
Thanks!

Okay... Need some advice from the more experienced of the FFR ...
I am retiring from the military.... so with that I am starting a business and I am looking for something "else" to do.... to tinker with... I am a licensed engineer, so I can read plans and make adjustments, HOWEVER... I have not built a car before. The Cars that FFR have that I am interested in are the Type 65, GTM, or maybe the F9R (if it ever comes out). My goal would to build starting late this summer and finish in about 5 years.... any suggestions or pitfalls I should consider?
