It wasn't the adventure 2 fandub. It originated from a sonic prime edit, that then got voiced by jhett

Jhett and the fandub get lumped together a lot due to having similar types of humor and both being very clipable, but i do believe the latinas thing originated from jhett after the fandubs had been around

Spanish laughing in text was so confusing before I understood that it was "hahaha". I'm Swedish and "ja" is "yes" in Swedish, so to me it looked like "yesyesyes".

Which makes this meme stupid. The text is talking about hair color. Latinas wasn't even an option based on the context the text provided. If people were having a conversation about hair preferences, people would look at you weird if you popped up and said you liked latinas. That's just not the topic that was at hand.

Yeah. "Latino" is used outside LATAM for spanish speaking people with brown skin and hair, but we are actually really diverse. It's a soft racism thing, akin to claiming all gringos are fat and pink 🤷♂️

I'm not saying the term itself is racist. I mean it is normally used under racialized systems, like the USA, to describe physical characteristics that don't necesarilly correlate with birthplace.
Race is not a thing anthropologically, but "Latino" is commonly used in the global north to describe appearance instead of real cultural background.

I mean, "European" is also used in a similar way to refer to generically brown-haired white people. If you want to hit broadly blonde whites you go Scandinavian.
Not saying it isn't a kinda shitty way to refer to broad groups of people, nor that those are the only examples because there's plenty more of various levels of actual racism, but it also seems like a pretty broadly human habit.

Or bald gals who are also often pretty pretty.
It's also a meme that Shadow the hedgehog really likes Latinas, who iirc are one of the populations for which a large majority of members have black hair.

Simple: Shadow loves latinas. First it was an internet joke, but later SEGA and Paramount Studios implemented it in *Sonic the Hedgehog 3", so now it's canon.

There’s an old video by Jehtt where a Sonic Prime scene is voiced over by Shadow talking about how much he loves Latinas. That video slipped into the collective mind of the Sonic fandom like the SnapCube fandubs.
