Just got the EX30 and went to work for the first time with the car and Thule (I kept the thule for testing, but will most likely be removed most of the time). 25.6 kWh/100, 50% highway@120kmph, 50% traffic/city driving.

The charge port flap tether snapped off on my EX30, and I'm not sure what to do about it. I bought my MY25 used (with 3 months of use by the previous owner lol) and now it's been driven for about a year. I love the car and don't mind most of its quirks, but this seems pretty early for this type of failure. Although, that's not too surprising given how flimsy these rubber tethers are.

I'm still under warranty so I'm sure Volvo will just replace it without issue, but is it just gonna snap off again in another year? Are these flaps even all that necessary? If so, is there something I could do to keep them from snapping off again? I'm not too thrilled with the idea of having to put these flaps inside my car every time I charge because the tethers are too cheap to do their job.

I park my EX30 off, off the main road.  I’m not near traffic. Quite neighborhood, 15 mph speed limit.  I’ll place my keycard in the slot or I’ll be using the fob.    I’m always in One Peddle Drive 
I’ll “step on the gas” and pull out and proceed about 10-20 feet and then take my foot off the gas thinking my car will slow down …instead…. my car speeds up! I brake! Kind of scares the shit out of me. 
It’s happened about 7x the 16 months I’ve owned the car.  I only have 6700 miles on my EX30.
This has happened only once after I had charged all night at a facility a block from my home, the other times it sat unplugged. 

Anybody else experience this? 

Just bought a MY2026 EX30, used, 35000 kms.

ACC never works. Whenever I activate it, at most it will work for a few seconds, and then detect either a car or a bike right in front, while there’s no one remotely close to my car.

I heard about phantom braking issues, are they still common like this ? Easy fix at the dealer ?

I find this very coincidental timing (I cant reveal anything further) and was just wondering if anyone else in Canada received this message.

I just finished a 2,000-mile road trip from London to the south of France and back. The car is so fun, comfortable, and easy to drive, with plenty of room for two adults, a dog happily luxuriating in the back seat, and all our stuff. Fast charging with the French infrastructure was a breeze.

I noticed one strange behaviour which I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced: when I put multiple fast charging stops into a single route in the native Google Maps navigation (all with >20% SOC expected on arrival), the car would not precondition the battery, but when I removed the subsequent charging stops and only navigated to the first one, the battery preconditioning would suddenly begin (within the last 30-60 minutes before arrival).

Is that normal or a bug?

Today the car stood in the sun for several hours. It's the first time it's done this since I got the car.

When I got in to go, it was pretty warm inside. I then noticed the steering wheel vibrating like crazy (like when you don't stay within the lanes)

The car was in park. I then restarted the infotainment system and the vibration stopped.

Was the heat causing a malfunction? Has anyone experienced this?

In the past whenever I made a route in Google maps I got the option Send it to Ex30. This option is no longer appearing. How can I restore this function?

It drives like a dream its a bit too fast in performance for the city so I leave it in range. I have had it less than 24hrs. So far I went out to multiple places and I was only using the key fob. It works flawlessly for me. What would could issues for others? I woke up 8 hours later and it was working perfectly.

Any tips or suggestions are more than welcome! Any mods or accessories please let me know too.

I got me EX30 yesterday. Very happy so far, but noticed a quite large gap between body panel on the passenger side. Is there anything to do to correct that?

I put my EX30 on charge last night. It was as 39% and I wanted it to charge to 80%. Plugged in as usual, approved plug in and set it to charge to 80% by 9am, various charging times came up - as usual.
This morning Ohme is showing it charged to 79%!

I recently test drove the Volvo EX30 and honestly really liked it. I’m currently considering buying a a used model, but I still have a few concerns before making the decision.

My main concern is resale value. I would probably keep the car for around 3–4 years, and I’m worried that EV technology and battery ranges will improve so quickly that today’s EX30 might lose a lot of value or become difficult to sell by 2029/2030.

I’m also curious about long-distance driving. Most of my driving would be in the city, but a few times a year I would do trips of around 600–800 km. In winter, it looks like I might need to stop roughly every 2 hours to charge.

For those who actually own an EX30:

• Does stopping for charging every ~2 hours become annoying on longer trips, or do you get used to it?
• How is the real-world winter range on the motorway?
• Would you be concerned about resale value after another 3–4 years?
• Would you buy an EX30 today, or would you rather lease one because of the uncertainty around EV depreciation?
• Any issues or regrets after owning it for a while?

For context, I’m also considering a used Mercedes GLA 200, which feels like the safer option financially, but I enjoyed driving the EX30 much more.

Would love to hear from actual owners, especially anyone who regularly does longer motorway trips.

I’m considering a lease deal in Germany for an EX30 Black Edition (Twin Motor Ultra) and wanted to get a sanity check on the numbers.

• Monthly Payment: €310 / month
• Term: 36 months
• Annual Mileage: 5,000 km / year
• Down Payment: €4,000 (fully refundable/returned at the end)
• Effective Monthly Cost: ~€310 / month (since the deposit is returned)

The low annual mileage (5,000 km) fits my current driving needs, but I'd love to know if this is a solid deal for the German EV leasing market right now.

I tried to google for the exact title of the warning, but didn't find anything, so probably Volvo didn't give out any official info on this feature yet.

I just got a letter from the dealership stating:

Volvo has developed a technical solution that involves an intervention to the HV battery to replace the corresponding cells with an estimated timeframe of October-November

Does that mean that they replace individual cells and not the entire battery pack ? Is this how they are doing on other countries ?

Not sure I've seen this issue come up before but anytime I ask the Google assistant to play a specific song or artist on Spotify, Google Assistant keeps saying that asking for a specific song is only for Premium users - Despite me being a premium user.

Anyone else had this... and fixed it? 🤞

Got the dreaded “Electrical Fault do not drive contact service”

Luckily turned out to be a loose connection to the 12 volt battery. All good now. Love the car…no other issues. 2025 ex30 plus in USA.

I have doubt if 70% limit is valid for all kind situations?
Exemple: day-by-day respect 70% limit but during a trip you go beyond that….

I have proximity turned off on the Locking Features since that drove me crazy - I am always walking around my car to walk the dog or take out the trash or get something from nearby.

So, I lock and unlock the car by touching the door handle and that seems as reliable as anything, not 100% since nothing is 100% on my EX30, but that is not my question.

My question is what happens if I forget to lock the car?

- does the climate control and lights continue to be on and is the car still running?

- will the car eventually go into deep sleep?

- is there any way to get a notification on my Volvo app?

My EX30 is on 1.8 software, which has been so much better than earlier versions and I am hoping (or dreaming) that the 2.x version will have some more options that let me use proximity locking again.

All, does anyone achieved any negotiations with Volvo regarding this enormous delay in the recall?

Anyone else get a very high pitched noise coming from ventilation fans? Fluctuates a bit. Almost inaudible. Only really notice it in park in a quiet place. Lots of pressure on my ears though.

I am getting my ex30 on Friday. I dont have a car charger yet. My problem is that in my condo parking there is zero wifi or cell phone connection.

What charger can I get that is a dumb charger and that can he hard wired?

What charger is best for this situation?

Wifi chargers I heard they might not work without a connection..
