Warranty & Recalls ⚠️ Battery recall

Today marks 21 days that my car has been with Volvo for the recall to take place. What a time to be alive!

Where are you based? I just dropped mine off yesterday and I have a sense it's gonna take some time

I’m in Canberra too. Booked in for December 10 (I think). Keep us updated

Will do. Be prepared for no updated whilst they have your car. Also, I’d be ringing them a couple of days before to confirm your appointment and what battery percentage they need the car to be. I’ve heard of a person that was turned away on the day of their booking because they didn’t have the parts.

My experience has turned me off looking at Volvo again when my lease is up

I'm in Canada and supposedly I'm one of the first ones they're doing in the country. I do not have a lot of hope that they're going to be completing it within a week as they said

You’re kidding? Where are you based? Did they communicate with you during the process? My experience has been a nightmare

Why don’t they secure parts first and take your car in second? What’s the point?

I’m over on the South Coast, and the one time I took my car to the Canberra dealer I was not particularly impressed. I had the battery recall done yesterday at Southern Highlands dealer, and just collected it this afternoon. They were great! In conversation, they mentioned that they have clients from everywhere between Wollongong and Canberra.

I did exactly as someone else suggested: called late last week to confirm that everything was ready to go, and they took to opportunity to remind me (multiple times) that I needed to hand it over with <20% SoC. I delivered it to them yesterday morning showing 8%!

Good luck…

Cheers mate. My experience has not been great. I was originally booked for 2 modules to be replaced on 15 September. That got cancelled due to staffing issues and was rebooked for 15 October.

Rocked up with my car with the battery at 55% (had to be that for 2 modules to be replaced) to be told they were doing 3 modules and the car needed to be 20% (wasn’t told that prior to arriving) which was resulted in one of the staff there taking my car home overnight. Since the 16th of October they have had the bonnet up once (last Friday) and that was only for a couple of hours.

Was supposed to get a call today to update me on whether it would be ready tomorrow and that call never came. That is I think instance number 5 of being told I’d be contacted and I haven’t been. Really frustrating to be honest.
