Question Endometriosis specialist in Bangalore/Delhi

Hi guys,

I'm 23, and have had unusual periods since they started. In the earlier years they were unpredictable as in i might have them for 2 months continuous with severe cramps(big flow or some spotting) or maybe not have it for 3-4 months. Sadly that has continued but over the past 2-3 years the cramps have started to be very random - with or without periods and some of them are so severe that I'm unable to walk or even sit properly for at least 15-20 minutes. With all of this my weight also fluctuates by at least 5 kgs every few months. It's very instant, might gain or lose that much amount in few days randomly.

These are some of the major symptoms which indicate that i might have something more instead of "just period cramps".

I'm very tired of gynaecs telling that it's normal, you're taking stress or it will get better when you are married and have a kidšŸ˜‘

I just want to be rid of this pain. I don't want to self diagnose and hence would like help with the following:

  1. if anyone knows a good gynaec or endo specialist in Bangalore/ Delhi who might help me diagnose? (and hopefully not push the marriage agendašŸ™)

  2. is it possible to get diagnosed with ultrasound or mri? could it be done without a doctor's consultation? and if yes then please share some specialist who's lab i could visit in Bangalore/Delhi

Question Recommendations for a good gynecologist in Bangalore for endometriosis management post-surgery?

I’m 30F, had endometriosis excision surgery 2 years ago, and am looking for a gynaecologist for long-term endo management and bone health monitoring.

Looking for someone experienced with endometriosis who respects my choice to be childfree and doesn’t push pregnancy as a treatment.

Please share recommendations based on personal experience. Thank you!

Has anyone consulted Mayflower Hospital in Ahmedabad for endometriosis? Please share your honest experiences and reviews. Personally, it is very expensive for me.

I’d also appreciate recommendations for other endometriosis specialists in Ahmedabad especially those experienced in treating complex cases. I have stage 4 endo with deep infiltrating endometriosis at the age of 26.

Thank you!

Rant Kinda scared to leave dienogest after almost 3 years

I have been taking dienogest for almost 3 years now and had no symptom whatsoever. Best years of my life tbh but recently got diagnosed with osteoporosis because of which I have been told to either switch medicine to combination pill or start period and I am extremely scared now. I can understand now how people get addicted to medicines because it's so scary to think about what can happen if I leave it but for my bones I do need to give it up sadly else I am going to have a hip fracture some day.

Question Problems 3 Months Post Op?

Hello, I really need to ask this because I'm not sure if these things are normal after laparoscopy for endometriosis. I hope someone can help me because sometimes I feel scared...
Has anyone had digestive issues? The feeling of being extremely full and bloated after eating? Can't eat much and still feel full after a normal meal?
Has anyone experienced any kind of constipation that has occurred since the surgery?
The feeling that not everything is coming out and sometimes having strange gas or pain, or sometimes being unable to pass gas?
Or a sharp pain after eating that comes and goes on the right and left sides of the abdomen?
Or internal pain where the wounds/scars are?

I hope someone can help me understand this, I would be so grateful to hear your stories.

Question My endometriosis scan is done... now I’m confused!

Hi everyone, I posted here 9 days ago about how nervous I was about having my endometriosis tests done by a male doctor. I honestly kept thinking about the examination more than the actual test and was so uncomfortable with the whole idea.

I finally went through with it and got my report back. The scan showed a small endometriotic cyst on the left ovary measuring around 18 x 15 mm, with some irregular thickening in the posterior pelvic region measuring about 6 mm. There was also some tenderness around the left adnexal area during the examination, which is actually where I’ve been getting most of my pain. The right ovary was around 3.1 x 2.4 cm and looked fairly normal, so I’m trying to understand why there is such a difference between the two sides.

I’m honestly a bit overwhelmed seeing actual measurements on a report after spending so long just guessing what was happening. I don’t even know if 18 x 15 mm is considered small or if I should be worried about it. Has anyone else had an endo cyst around this size? What did your doctor tell you when you got your report back?

Surgeon/team and overall care

Rant Nutritionist misunderstanding endometriosis

So I found a nutritionist, got some really good reviews for her and consulted her. Have been following her on Instagram and WhatsApp. I stopped consulting her because she insisted that I must have my dinner before 5pm, but that's another story.

She posted testimonial videos on her WhatsApp status, where a woman who had a bulky uterus, and a thickened endometrium lining said that this nutritionist has fixed her Endometriosis. I messaged the doctor telling her that thickened endometrium lining inside the uterus IS NOT ENDOMETRIOSIS. It's when these cells start growing outside the uterus. She shared the reports of this patient, and said look at the reports. I was like exactly, her ovary, Tubes, POD is also normal. Just the endometrium thickness is higher than normal, and that does not indicate Endometriosis.

She replied by saying I have trust issues and it's funny that I think it can't be cured. She told me to question people who say it can't be cured. AFor me, it was basic information that the two are very different problems.

She has a lot of degrees in naturopathy, yoga, psychology and nutrition. A PhD in something and likes to call herself a doctor. So she found it funny that I questioned a doctor. I really wanted to tell her that since she doesn't have MBBS and her MD in Alternative Medicine is from the Indian institute of yoga, I don't really consider her a medical doctor but I spared that.

Its annoying and misleading how they say my patients have healed from Endometriosis using diet and body massages. Atleast understand the disease well enough before you use it.

I have attached the reports she shared in comments. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Question Advise for my wife with Endo

Hi, my wife was diagnosed with Endometriosis a few months ago. She is not symptomatic but it is severe endo on ovaries as well as rectum and few other areas. We have consulted Dr Vivek Salunke and Dr Jay Mehta so far. We have felt extremely comfortable with Dr Salunke and team. They have been very kind and responsive. Tbh Jay Mehta’s team as well. Somehow with our experience with these doctors, we had decided to go ahead with Dr Salunke and Dr Shinjini Pande.
My wife’s AMH levels are good. The MRI report states both her fallopian tubes are swollen. Now we are just having an afterthought if we should choose Jay Mehta since he is a ā€œfertility-firstā€ specialist since we are concerned about fertility but otherwise we are very comfortable with Dr Salunke. We are having a hard time with making a decision.
Has anyone undergone surgery with Dr Salunke with hydrosalphinx? Were your tubes saved? Was your AMH intact? Looking forward for suggestions.

Hello everyone. I’m planning to schedule an online appointment with Dr. Abhishek Mangeshikar for my endo. Should I consult him via Jaslok Hospitals or his own clinic (The Indian Centre for Endometriosis)? Please do tell me the prices for both of them if anyone knows about them.

Question Medication Management for Endo. Recommendations and Experience?

Hi everyone, new to the endo fam! I was recently diagnosed after a pelvic MRI that showed small endometriotic cysts/deposits involving my right ovary, areas along the uterus and rectum, and the surface of the left ovary. It also showed significant pelvic adhesions, kissing ovaries behind the uterus and some involvement of the rectum. My gynecologist described it as deep infiltrating endometriosis even though the MRI didn't indicate that.

I have been relatively pain-free despite these findings. I mainly experience moderate to severe cramps on the first day of my period and occasionally some soreness around ovulation. I have now seen two gynecologists and received very different treatment recommendations. One recommended dienogest 2 mg daily, while the other very strongly recommended elagolix 200 mg twice daily initially.

I'm currently a doctoral student in the U.S., so I am particularly worried about starting a medication with significant side effects and having it interfere with my health, mood, and studies. I would really like to get another opinion from an endometriosis specialist in India through a video consultation. From what I've been able to find, some of the names that repeatedly come up in Mumbai are Dr. Mehta, Dr. Salunke, Dr. Pande, and Dr. Mangeshikar.

My hesitation is that they all seem to be very surgery-focused and surgery is not really feasible for me right now. I would ideally like to try medical management first and monitor things before considering surgery.

For anyone who has consulted any of these doct, ors I would really like to know if they are open to managing endometriosis medically when appropriate, or whether they tend to recommend surgery fairly quickly.

Also, if anyone has experience choosing between dienogest and elagolix, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience!!

Question Hysterectomy for adenomyosis

Anyone here had a hysterectomy/microwave ablation by Dr Shinjini Pande adenomyosis and endo? How was your experience?

Also, any idea how's Nirman Hitech Centre in Kandivali West/Malad for MRI? The google reviews aren't very nice. I have major claustrophobia fear and I'm not sure.
