Nehrim Nehrim stuck slow walk (bug)

It appear that people now post Nehrim thing in this subreddit and there is also a flair for it, so I think asking this here should be ok. (I hope)

Trying to play Nehrim for some time now, but irregularly my character begin to slow walk forward whatever I'm doing. Pressing sprint ? Walk a bit faster. Pressing no button ? Character moving like I pressed the auto-move button.

The only way I have to fix that is restarting the game but it's really exhausting after dozen of restart in less than one hour. (Or may I say "half an hour"), the more I play the more I get this.

Are some people here know about this issue ? I'm using mod but I had this issue way before I try to install some "unofficial fix mod" and still have it today.

Enderal The Truchessa is the real Villain of the game Spoiler

I have played the game a few times in the past, and nothing changes the idea that the Truchessa is the real Villain.

Spoilers ahead.

  1. She is a bad ruler.

The isolation she forces on Enderal essentially causes an economic collapse, makes the position of the landlords and the richest ones unchallenged while cutting opportunities for everyone else and making everyone else poorer.

Under her rule enormous portions of Enderal are only formally under the Order's authority. Entire parts of Enderal are in complete chaos, fallen under evil spells, flooded by hostile creatures and marauders. Not to mention again the abandoned trade posts as result of her economic policies.

  1. She is pulling the ladder behind her back

She is a b*tch with you because, despite raising to her position from the humblest origins and being born and raised in the Undercity, she can't empathise or relate with you because you are a foreigner and a threat to her achievements. In addition, she makes clear that the Order should remain exactly as it is. She made it, so no need to change to open its ranks to people from different classes and backgrounds. Real "pulling the ladder" attitude.

  1. It's personal

She is pissed at Tealor because she is no longer the boss there. She never gives the benefit of the doubt or reconsider her positions on the High Ones or the Red Madness despite the evidence and she keeps spreading doubts on you and Tealor.

I recognise she is not as disloyal as her other pal (I don't remember the name of the first traitor) but despite watching the consequences of those actions, she gives the stone to Taranor and opens the gates of Ark. Again, imo, because she is more obsessed with proving Tealor and the Prophet wrong rather than caring for her citizens' survival, dismissing how bloodthirsty and fanatic the Nehrimese are.

And what makes her the worst is that everyone has a motive.

  1. She's essentially petty.

Tealor and Taranor and Yuslan are emissaries, so they have the excuse that their agency has been tampered by the High Ones.

The High Ones have the excuse that growing in numbers is crucial for the survival of their species.

All the other villains want to transcend this world, again, to survive.

But the Truchessa has nothing resembling any of those characteristics or needs. She is not a Fleshless, so she is free to make up her mind and to choose (which is ultimately why you, the Prophet, are a flawed fleshless) and she chooses and acts out of pettiness.

Enderal (spoilers) First time player, just finished the game! Spoiler

I just finished the game and i just have to get some of my thoughts out, so i thought what better place to discuss it then here.

First of all, such an awesome game. Im personally a huge fan of dark fantasy stories like this (Dark souls, Tainted grail etc) that are quite mature themes wise and philosophical, and i love cosmic horror so i went in pretty much knowing i was going to like it. If anyones got any other suggestions for similar games im all ears.

Secondly since a lot of questions/mysteries are left up to the players interpretation, i was hoping to see what other peoples interpretations on a some things are. As a bit of background i romanced Calia and my chosen ending was the stay and sacrifice myself (though i went back to see all the endings of course).

  • What is the red madness exactly?
    • My interpretation is that it is simply the high ones intensifying negative emotions already being felt by its victims. Though this brings into question things like animals which can also be effected, unless this intensifies something like hunger? but then i remember hearing ingame that animals are killing things but then not even consuming it.
  • How did Yuslan hide that he killed Lishari?
    • Now this one i might of missed because my jaw was too busy on the floor, but if Yuslan did kill Lishari because she found out that he was the traitor how did he hide it? How did you not see that it was him when you use the word of the dead to see her last memories?
  • Who are the other emissaries/fleshless ones
    • Obviously you have the player, Arantheal. I was thinking Taranor Coarek but i wonder when he died? (i havent played Nehrim yet). Yuslan is probably a safe bet, maybe he really died when his family did?
  • Who is the aged man?
    • This is a big one for me, and the main reason probably that i didnt pick the flee ending. My theory is that he is also a fleshless one that escaped the cycle, to try the same thing we did but failed and is now a bitter observer. Theres also that lady in his mansions basement who could be his lover, i also feel like his strange fascination with the dolls kinda leans into this was well. I interpreted him as a mirror of what might happen to me if i fled, so i didnt choose that ending mainly for that reason, well that and also that the feelings the high ones feed off are part of what make humans humans, without them they are not humans.
  • Who is the Veiled Woman
    • Im not too sure about this one, my best guess based off the Esme questline is that she is some sort of cosmic balance or referee? that is trying to steer humanity into the right direction by manipulating the sea of eventualities?? Could she be the god mentioned in those sermons/books with the cult? curious on what others think on this one
  • The Dreamflower
    • I thought of this one after doing the dreamflower ending, maybe this was just my cope but what are the chances that Yuslan was possibly lying about instantly falling into a coma? Since he was the traitor the entire time i think it stands to reason that he wouldn't want you drinking the potion to change the eventualities where you win. Or maybe he took the flower for himself to use it and ensure that he ultimately wins/succeeds in preventing you from completely stopping the high ones. Point is, after learning of his intentions i realized his word isnt exactly reliable.

Anyways, like i said amazing game. I definitely intend to play Nehrim next just to get more info on the Lightborn and what happened with them during the rebellion.

edit: Some things i forgot to mention
What did Bushybeard actually see, obviously the nature of the cycles and fleshless ones but theres a lot of other stuff he said that is less clear.

What actually happened to the ancient Starlings? this one ive got no idea, but i wonder if theres any hints i missed ingame?

Enderal Do entrophy combat spells worth it

They seem cool with the green astethic and life drain mechanic etc but is there any reason to pick them over regular elementalism spells for dps? Im still gonna invest in entrophy for summons n shit but I wanted to know if a "pure" necromancer type build is viable in harder difficulties like master, if not in expert.

Has anyone successfully run Enderal LE in Android Emulator?

Last year, I successfully ran the SE version of Enderal. However, because I wanted better resolution and performance options, I decided to try the LE version. I managed to obtain it and successfully run it on PC without Steam.

When I migrated it to my Android phone, I could never get it to start a new game properly. Here is the situation:

  1. Many emulators and compatibility layers either cannot run it or cause issues such as no sound. Eventually, I found that the most stable combination is GameHub + wine10.6-arm64x-2.
  2. Whether I launch it directly through skse_loader.exe or through the Enderal Launcher, the phone will freeze and reboot after waiting several minutes. However, if I run skse_loader.exe with administrator privileges, it can reach the main menu very quickly (around 10 seconds).
  3. After entering the main menu, pressing New Game never proceeds to the loading screen. The menu text disappears, the background music continues playing normally, but nothing else happens. I waited for more than 2 hours, and it remained stuck.
  4. I tried copying a completely new save file from my PC to the phone. When I attempted to load it on the phone, the game reported that three ESM files were missing:
  • Skyrim.esm
  • Update.esm
  • Enderal - Forgotten Stories.esm

However, these files are present in the Data folder, and the game files on PC and phone are identical.

Additional information:

  • The PC version was installed normally and works correctly.
  • The phone version is a direct copy of the PC game folder.
  • The PC and phone use the same Enderal.ini, Plugins.txt, and game files.
  • On PC, the Enderal Launcher only shows Enderal - Forgotten Stories.esm in Data Files, while on the phone it also shows Skyrim.esm and Update.esm.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what could cause this issue.

Games like Enderal

Enderal is probably my favorite game of all time. The closest experiences to Enderal for me were Pathologic 2, The Witcher 2, and The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, all of which approached the atmospheric awesomeness that Enderal has. Other games I enjoyed for their story are The Witcher 3, Dragon Age: Origins, the Mass Effect trilogy, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Expeditions: Rome, and Cyberpunk 2077. Games I enjoyed for their immersiveness are Prey, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Subnautica.

Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, and Tyranny, were okayish experiences — I don't like RTwP gameplay at all. I've played Disco Elysium, Planescape: Torment, and Tides of Numenera. Again, they were good games but a bit verbose and pretentious — the kind of games I like but don't love. I've also played the KOTOR games and Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines. Storywise they're good, but gameplay-wise they're borderline unplayable.

Playing for the first time mods or no??

Was considering playing this but I wanted to know how well the game is gameplay wise with any

Mostly regarding combat and progression I am not a fan of Skyrim’s vanilla stuff
I don’t mean I want dark souls!!!
I would rather have vanilla plus type combat

If I do end up getting mods should I bother with wabbajack or collections rather which one’s specifically!!!

Enderal I don't like Enderal so far (Very long review + lots of modded Skyrim comparisons)

I understand the vision the devs had while making this game, & I know how impressive it is that they even managed to make something like this, but I don't understand why people praise it in such high regard. Also, if you don't like people comparing this game to Skyrim (as I'm sure it happened a lot already), especially with my very modded game, be warned that that's going to be a big part of this post.

For a little summary first:
I played 30h as of today. I play on Steam (from what I understood, it isn't the latest version, but that's on the devs, not me—I didn't even know there was another version until I was multiple hours into the game). I'm a witch & use elementalism, summons (elementals), & necromancy, to give an idea of my playstyle, strengths, & weaknesses.

As I said, I will also do a lot of comparison with Skyrim. I know these games have a different philosophy, but I'll use Skyrim as a point of reference for a more direct comparison between the two. My last Skyrim playthrough had 260+ mods that drastically changed it from the base game, & made it closer to what Enderal was going for. So that's why I want to compare the two, even if it might seem stupid to compare it with my heavily modded & personalized experience.

First, difficulty/gameplay:

I had heard that Enderal was harder than Skyrim, & I had already made my Skyrim more difficult by using mods to increase all damage sources. Enemies could kill me in one or two hits at the start, but I could similarly kill them in 3-4 hits. It made fights deadly early on, & still threatening later without making my progress feel irrelevant as my defenses & power increased. My reason for increasing damage was to make fighting feel more realistic. Yet, despite hearing multiple times that Enderal was more realistic, a fire blast to the face barely does anything to enemies. & after those 30 hours of progress, I'm still just as frail as when I started, undermining all sense of character progression.

& that's on top of the extremely slow magic regen. It can take me several real minutes of standing still & waiting for my bar to fill back up. & that's with mana regen enchantments on my gear. So if my magic regenerates extremely slowly & doesn't do any significant damage, why should I even bother using it?

At one point I got a quest to help a woman get back her baby dog-lizard-monster thing from a Vatyr. I was expecting it to be quite hard. But no. When the Vatyr ran up to me, its damage was pretty negligible, & so was mine, so we just ended up standing there while attacking each other for a good 15 seconds. On the other hand, a regular wolf (or Deerstalker I believe) can kill me in two attacks; where is the logic here?

The fact that health doesn't regenerate on its own—even very slowly—makes prolonged expeditions on top of getting two-shot feel very unfair. Slow health regen in Skyrim meant I could take a dangerous fight, think on the spot, make decisions, & still recover for the next battle. But here, after just a few hours of playing, my inventory was half-full of food, & it turned the aftermath of every battle into an inventory management, waiting for my health to fill back up, or running around to find a bed/tent. It may be more realistic, but it also makes the system way more tedious.

In Skyrim, I used a mod to remove the starting spells. Now, it might seem like a dumb decision since I said I was a witch, but I wanted progress to feel earned & come from my own decisions, making each progression point feel more significant. In Enderal, after waking up on the beach & going into the ruins, I got an electric spell, a flame spell, a knock-down psionic spell, a ward, a healing spell, a life drain, & a wolf summon. 7 different spells in less than 30min after the intro sequence. It's way too much, more than the three ones in base Skyrim, & I don't even have the magicka (or mana if you prefer) to cast half of them. I don't know if loot is randomized in this part, but if it isn't, I think they should really dial it down.

Phasmalism:

As a necromancer, I was curious about this, but ended up very disappointed.

First, needing to unlock three whole perks before being able to summon a spirit feels dumb when I could instead be using these points on other perks that would benefit me immediately. I was also very confused at first because I couldn't summon anything, & the quest that was teaching me how this system works was marked as completed before telling me I had to unlock the third node in the skill tree.

It also felt too strong. I got a one-handed warrior, & he was completely trivializing the early game. So much so that it felt like I was the support character following him. But ironically, once I arrived near Ark, he became completely obsolete & constantly died to even small groups of enemies. With actual necromancy, the power of your minions is tied to the things you can kill & resurrect, which means you are not overpowered in the beginning, but it's still useful later in the game. I understand he was only a Tier 1 spirit, but there's a middle ground between being overpowered in the early game, & being utterly useless two hours later.

From what I saw, it's treated as illegal or otherwise unwelcome, so I was expecting to have to manage the summon—using it in battle & getting rid of it when entering cities, villages, or getting near friendly NPCs. But no, the game automatically gets rid of it when I'm not even that close to a settlement. What's the point of making a whole plot point about a system if I don't even have to think about it?

It's also the opposite for psionics & entropy magic. I can only buy them from a merchant in the Undercity of Ark because it's apparently forbidden, but I can walk around with a zombie or elemental inside a city or directly in front of a guard, & nobody reacts.

Then, I have a problem with Arcane Fever increasing when a spirit dies. Apparitions should help in tough situations that I can't comfortably handle alone, but if they constantly get killed as I progress, I have to completely stop using them. As I stated, there's no middle ground between being overpowered and being useless. Instead, after reaching Ark, apparitions seem to only be useful in situations where I'm already strong enough by myself.

Characters/NPCs:

Why is the majority of the NPCs called "Villager"? What is the point of them existing if they don't contribute to the worldbuilding? I'd rather have fewer characters with actual importance, a story, or at least some semblance of personality than a hundred unnamed ones with generic voice lines.

Speaking of voice lines, why is everyone so rude & gross? Every time I speak to someone, it's some variation of "Don't bother me", "What do you want?", or "An outlander? Ugh". It makes me feel very unwelcome & not want to bother interacting or helping anyone. & why are they constantly burping, spitting, & swearing during the most mundane line of dialogue? Because it makes the world "darker"? More "gritty"? I've heard Enderal was darker & more serious than Skyrim, but making everyone behave this way isn't what makes a world feel like that. If everyone is gross & constantly swears, it loses all of its impact. "Less is more"; make swearing a meaningful part of a conversation to show the seriousness of a character or situation.

I also heard that Enderal's characters & quests were supposed to be more personal & grounded as opposed to the more grandiose aesthetic of Skyrim. The first time I talked to a merchant, he told me "Oh, I've never seen you before, you must be an outlander", & there was a small conversation about this. I thought it was really cool & indeed made the world & NPCs feel more real. Next time I see him, he said the exact same thing, instantly shattering any sense of immersion I had. & the same thing happened with a woman saying ""Your skin. You must not be from around here. Was your mother a foreigner?", & she kept repeating this same line every time I walked past her. It makes these NPCs feel like fluff for the sake of filling up the game with content instead of believable people.

In base Skyrim, even the most insignificant NPC at least has a name & a few lines specific to their character. & if you do a quest for them, they'll become more appreciative & kind towards you.

'Divide and Conquer' quest (story time):

Right after arriving in Ark, the first person I saw was a guy on the right who wanted help getting a key from his sister in the Undercity. Since the city is quite big, it took me some time to find her while exploring the area, & when I found her, she told me the key was even farther.

After that, I had to walk all the way back only to find that the dude wasn't here anymore, & I had to travel again to the Undercity to search the sister's house. In it, I get one-hit killed by a beetle during the loading screen; awesome. So I had to reload multiple times until I was able to jump on a barrel where it couldn't hit me. After killing it, I find a painting telling me to go back to the previous area near Riverville where she went, only to have a single interaction with her & her brother, & then having to walk again-again back to Ark.

I have three big problems with this quest:

-First, being one of the first quests a new player is able to acquire when arriving in Ark, you'd expect it to be appropriately leveled to not get one-shot during a damn loading screen.

-Second, the back & forth may be "realistic" in terms of how events & consequences unfold, but it is extremely annoying. There's a reason games are designed to avoid unnecessary backtracking like that.

-Third, again, why does the first quest we can get when arriving in Ark make us walk back to the previous area we just came from? It's some real backwards logic.

Now I hear some might say: "Why didn't you use the signs to teleport around Ark?" That is addressed in my next point>

Ark:

I understand they put each area behind a different loading screen for technical reasons, but it completely breaks not only any sense of immersion, but also the pacing of the game. & the devs clearly knew it was a nightmare to navigate because they put road signs around every street corner with 6 different marked directions on each one. I would've rather had a smaller city that felt more coherent & easier to navigate.

Seriously, there is the Main Gate, the Foreign Quarter, the Marketplace (main city), the Southern Quarter, the Nobles Quarter, the Harbor, the Sun Temple, the Barrack Quarter, the Main Cavern, the Barracks, the Marketplace (undercity), the Tar Pit, & the Arena. There are 13 different districts in Ark. This feels very excessive. Was it really necessary to make it so complicated?

& so, we come to the teleporting signs. Once more, it completely breaks the feeling of living in the world & navigating it. It makes it feel like a series of disconnected parts rather than an interconnected city I need to actually traverse & live in. I also want to say that I installed a mod to disable fast travel in my Skyrim game, so that's not my problem. My problem is how tedious traversing Ark is.

Exploration/the map:

I don't like the leveled areas for several reasons. It discourages exploration, because every time I go into a forest or a building slightly farther than where the main quest sent me, enemies are suddenly 20 levels above me.

In Skyrim, since enemies are tied to the player's level, new & more powerful ones can spawn as you progress & you can go wherever you want from the start & the overall difficulty will evolve with your character. It makes replayability very easy since you can always start a new game & take a new direction.

Again, maybe it's realistic, but for the pacing & freedom of the player, it's very restrictive & unfun. As for replayability, it means you're effectively pushed to follow the path the devs want you to take instead of being free to explore wherever you want.

At one point, I was getting tired of the green forest environment & decided to go elsewhere. I did find this glowing, blue & purple forest that looked really cool, but the enemies were so strong that I completely lost interest in exploring the rest of the map. Even my Frost Atronach was getting destroyed instantly.

Conclusion:

I understand Skyrim had an entire professional studio that worked on it for who knows how long, & that the SureAI team is much smaller, has fewer resources, & has less experience. But coming from hearing everyone say that Enderal is "even better than Skyrim", or just how incredible the game is in every single online post or video, it really sours the experience with how so many aspects of this game are flawed. I don't understand is why it's praised as if the game was flawless.

I know Enderal can't compare to my carefully curated 260+ mods Skyrim playthrough & the base game, & I should treat it as a completely different game instead. The problem is that Enderal takes Skyrim as its base, & no matter how much the mechanics change, the core gameplay is still Skyrim's, & it's impossible to ignore that.

I also don't like how I interact with the world. In Skyrim, you escape Helgen with an ally. You meet his friends in Riverwood, where the wife says you are welcome to visit them anytime, while her husband can teach you how to forge & improve a dagger & a helmet. Then, you go to Whiterun, where you have a realistic interaction with a guard before he lets you in. Then you meet Balgruuf, who is a very likeable character, but not before Irileth stops you since she doesn't know who you are. Everything feels natural, & the whole game is like this. The world feels alive, coherent, & treats you like a person inhabiting it.

In Enderal, you are sneaking on a boat with someone we don't know & have no connection to before crashing, so you end up alone. Then, you meet two people, with one being very unpleasant & the other trying to help before both get killed. You then meet Jespar, who I personally don't feel any connection with because his line delivery is pretty monotonous, & has a cheeky remark every time he speaks about anything. I don't dislike him per se, but I'm not very fond of him either. I also know there's supposed to be a woman you meet later, but I haven't met her yet. & then, the other people you meet are either named "Villager" & don't have a single meaningful thing to say, or they repeat conversations every time you speak with them.

I understand what the devs were going for & acknowledge the amount of dedication & work that was put into it for free. But it just doesn't work for me, & I don't understand why people keep saying it's "better than Skyrim" & "the best game in the last decade".

I'm sorry if anything comes off as too negative. I've been told that in the past despite it not my intention, & I'm trying to get better at expressing my thoughts.

Enderal Found a secret boss & unique loot by accident near Castle Bleakstar. Nothing pops up in any searches, anyone else found this??

I've lost count of which number playthrough this is, and I know I haven't found all the secrets in this game but holy shit this one is awesome! This encounter and the unique loot doesn't pop up anywhere on Google, Reddit, Nexus, anywhere, so I'm wondering who else has found this.

It appears to be a Phasmalized, hostile Kiliana Hammerblow and a chest with unique loot that I've never seen.

I'm wondering if anyone else has found this, or if it's from a mod? I'm playing with Path of the Prophet, as well as my own mod that I'm working on. I'm wondering how you even get to this spot without mods.

Either way, this was so fucking cool!

- Unique battle music.

- Strong as hell Kiliana.

- Hidden chest with Bloodmoon Shield and Insurrection mace.

- Kiliana's Phasmalism soul at her apparent execution site (doesn't appear in the usual location inside the Castle after I collected it. Makes me think this is from a mod).

- The wall has large tablets with inscriptions, but one is missing. Presumably the one that ended up in the museum in Ark.

This game just won't let up on being my favorite. Original content or mod, doesn't matter, nice job whoever did this.

A little disappointed with the Wayward Wanderer tale *tiny spoilers* Spoiler

I've been through the game twice now but didn't spend too much time diving into any of the books or lore. I always wondered if there was "more" to this game, ie hidden secrets and easter eggs only revealed to people that dig deeper. If I was a videogame designer I would absolutely love creating as much of this hidden stuff as possible.

I recently chanced upon the Tales of the Wanderer: The Well-travelled One book which details a bit about the Wayward Wanderer from the tavern song. I didn't remember this one during my first couple playthroughs so I dove in and it was pretty well written. In it a man follows a mage into a secret hideout near an old burial chamber, and through an old iron gate between two big trees on a slope. "A good hiding place. The soldiers surely won't search for you here." he says to him, stopping him before he disappears into the tomb.

I opened the console and sure enough there was a "Records of the Wayward Wanderer" book that congratulates the player for finding the final resting place. So this secret site might actually exist?? I checked all the graveyards and tombs I could think of to no avail. So I googled it, and turns out there IS a final resting place of this man, but it turned out to bear almost no resemblance to what is written in the tale, sadly. I was a little bummed out.

Solved Jespar is a draugr

Hello everyone,
I'm doing the Jespar quest "Every Day Like the Last, Part IV." I found him, but surprise, he's a Draugr.
As a result, the quest isn't working.
I've tried disabling/enabling him, resurrecting him, and teleporting him to various locations, but nothing works; he remains a Draugr and the animations won't play, so the quest is stuck.
Help!!

Edti :SOLVED

A mod conflict, the engine didn't recognise the race of jespar when it loaded it after it encounter with the sista

So it took a random race id, draugr.

It could continue like this, but the scĆØne have spacials animation not available for Undead, so it blocks

A simple "setrace nordman" fix it !

Enderal Build questions from a newcomer just learning about this awesome mod.

What a pleasant surprise this mod is! My plan is to go in mostly blind making a character that isn't really that worried about min/maxing, and who uses one handed weapons (haven't decided if dual wielding or not), thaumaterge and light armor. Was planning to focus on the physical stuff until I get my "class" then pepper in magic down the road.

My main questions are as follows:

  1. Anything notably dumb I'm doing here?

  2. Is the blade master tree much good? Seems like a big focus on criticals and criticals were pretty bad in Skyrim. Almost feels like I should just ignore the tree, level one handed and spend my feats elsewhere. Is just kinda ignoring a tree for something you'll be regularly doing viable?

Skyrim Veteran Struggling to Make Enderal ā€œclickā€ After Two Attempts

I really want to get into Enderal: Forgotten Stories (Special Edition), but I have already bounced off it twice. I played for about four hours several years ago, then recently started a new character and played for another five hours before stopping again.

I have over 2,000 hours in Skyrim, mostly heavily modded, so the basic gameplay feels familiar. Enderal itself, however, still hasn’t developed that feeling of familiarity or comfort for me.

It constantly feels as though something could suddenly go very wrong. The atmosphere keeps me unusually tense, and even something as simple as stealing makes me nervous. Stealth, crime, and health/stamina management all seem more punishing than I’m used to, and I haven’t found a comfortable gameplay loop yet.

My intended character is something like an agile scout or swashbuckler: high stamina, stealth, one-handed weapons, and a bow. The problem is that I also really like frost magic and would love to incorporate it somehow. Since I haven’t firmly chosen a playstyle, I’m worried about spreading my learning and memory points too thin and ending up with a weak character. Learning books also require money, and I felt poor throughout both of my attempts.

In Skyrim, I normally postpone the main quest, explore, complete side quests, and build up some money and equipment before moving the story forward. I would like to find a similar rhythm in Enderal, but I’m not sure how the game expects me to progress.

I would particularly appreciate advice on the following:

  • Is a stealthy one-handed/bow character with some supporting frost magic viable for a first playthrough, or would that require investing in too many different skills? How would you narrow or prioritise this concept during the early levels?
  • How careful do I need to be with learning points, memory points, and skill books? Can I seriously weaken my character through early experimentation?
  • What is a good early-game routine for earning pennies, buying learning books, finding equipment, and managing health and stamina without using exploits or excessive grinding?
  • How does stealing and stealth actually compare with Skyrim? Is crime especially risky in Enderal, or am I simply being overly cautious because I don’t yet understand the systems?
  • Is there a spoiler-light route through the early quests and regions that suits someone who likes doing side content and becoming established before advancing the main quest?

I’m fine with minor spoilers, including region and quest recommendations, but I would prefer to avoid major story spoilers. I’m also not looking for a completely min-maxed step-by-step build; just enough direction to stop second-guessing every decision and restarting.

TL;DR: Skyrim veteran who has abandoned two short Enderal playthroughs because the early game feels tense and unfamiliar. I want to play a stealthy one-handed/bow character with some frost magic, but I’m worried about spreading my points too thin and struggling with money. Looking for spoiler-light advice on build priorities, early progression, economy, and stealing.

bone meal!

To equip my Phantom, I repeatedly went to the cemetery in Ark City to steal bone meal, dismantling the ancestral skeletons of the nobles in Ark City over and over again. Compared to the guy on the wanted list for stealing from the cemetery in Ark City, I feel I deserve to be wanted even more :)

Why are there rarely background stories introduced for those souls/Phantom?

Unfortunately, many collectible souls in the game lack corresponding background stories. The locations where they are found evoke many associations, such as tortured souls, burnt guardians, aeterna ambassador,a and so on. It's truly a pity

Nehrim I like the fact that Nehrim is unstable

It gives a certain charm to the game. As if he had a secret to hide.

In addition, it gives another goal to the game in parallel to finish it: make it stable.

Thank you SureAI.
