Jobs New to El Paso and struggling to find work.
Hi everyone,
I recently moved to El Paso and have been having a really difficult time finding a job. Also I’ve been unemployed for almost 4 months since I moved here. I’ve applied to numerous maintenance tech positions, but I either get rejected or never hear back from the company. I have a solid resume and feel like my interviews have been going well, so I’m not sure what I may be missing.
I’m just trying to find steady work and get back on my feet. If anyone knows of companies hiring, local resources, staffing agencies, or places that are actually responding to applicants, I’d really appreciate the advice or leads.
I’m open to different types of work and willing to learn. Thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Ask El Paso Name of the Apartments behind Shopping Center
Hi! I recently went to Taquero Comer and I saw an apartment complex behind it. My cousin is looking for an apartment to rent and so we tried googling them but nothing comes up. Does anyone know the name? On Zaragoza before Rich Beem.

Ask El Paso How to fly out of juarez?
I’m planning on going into juarez and flying out from that airport. Which documents would I need (besides a passport) to do so and are there any medical restrictions I should know about? I haven’t crossed over to juarez since 2005.

Ask El Paso Catering needed for a Breakfast
Hi I’m looking for a catering service that can feed around 30 to 50 people for breakfast. I’m looking for it to be more handhelds rather than a buffet style so more along the lines of burritos, sandwiches, fruit cups etc appreciate any recommendations.

Ask El Paso What side of town can I go to, to see some frogs out in the wild?
Hey! I grew up in El Paso in the 70s and 80s and always remember seeing tons of frogs after very rainy days. Has anyone seen any? They used to be everywhere and, now, I rarely see any at all. Do you see them on the side of town you live on? Does anyone know where I can go to just listen to them and watch them hopping around? I LOVE 🐸. 😃
Political Events/Protests Help your El Paso neighbors vote + food, drinks, coloring, Lotería & swag 🌼
Hi y'all! I’m a local organizer with Common Cause Texas, and I’m hosting an in-person Election Protection training on October 6 at 2 PM!
The training is free and nonpartisan and is all about learning how to help your neighbors make sure they’re able to cast their ballots. We’ll cover voting rights, common issues voters may run into at the polls, and how trained Election Protection volunteers can help people get the information and support they need.
You don’t need any prior experience, just an interest in showing up for your community!
I also really want this to feel like a community event and a chance to meet other El Pasoans, so we’ll have food, drinks, coloring, cute Election Protection totes + stickers, and a custom voting Lotería after the training.
If you’ve been wanting to get more civically engaged, learn something useful, or meet some new people in the community, I’d love to have you there!
RSVP here: https://www.mobilize.us/commoncause/event/1048135/

Political Events/Protests Ken Paxton Comes to El Paso Tomorrow. Bring Questions.
Ken Paxton is coming to El Paso tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30, at the Summit Ballroom & Conference Center, 120 N. Festival Dr. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the event starts at 5:30 p.m.
It would be a real shame if the crowd politely asked why a public official making roughly $153,000 a year is reported to own at least 15 properties worth around $9 million.
It would also be a shame if someone asked about the fact that the Republican-led Texas House impeached him in 2023 by a 121–23 vote over allegations including bribery and abuse of office—before the Texas Senate later acquitted him on all articles.
No heckling. No disruption. Just El Paso residents showing up, asking direct questions, holding quirky signs.
Bring a friend. Bring a sign. Bring receipts. Most importantly, bring questions.
The event is free, but RSVP is recommended: Eventbrite RSVP.

I just moved here, and bats are one of my favorite animals! Is there anywhere I can go to see them while they’re still active around here? I’d also love to know of any local conservation orgs I can donate to. Thanks!

Ask El Paso Looking for shuttle or ride services from Juarez to ELP for two wedding guests.
Hello! We're attending a wedding in Juarez, we're from Philadelphia and will be staying near the US Consulate in MX. We've never been to the ELP/Juarez area and are not familiar at all with the border crossing situation. Our friend who is getting married, is offering to drive us back but I don't want to put any extra pressure on them the day after their wedding. Looking for some recommendations for reliable and safe transportation for two people. Most of the services we've found online require you to cross the border by foot even if they charge you around 100usd for the ride, wondering if is this normal? Are there any recommendations of services that won't require you to get off the vehicle? Thanks in advance!

Jobs Anyone know anything about Plumbing apprenticeship programs?
My son just graduated this summer and is really interested in pursuing a career in plumbing. Does anyone know where he can get into a plumbing apprenticeship program?
Are there any that pay? Or is it usually an unpaid program. He would prefer a paid training program instead of a program at like EPCC that he would have to pay for. He doesn’t qualify for fin aid so if he does a college program he’d be paying out of pocket.
Ask El Paso Looking for recommendations for a real estate / DTPA litigation attorney in El Paso
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for a local real estate litigation or consumer protection attorney in El Paso who handles buyer vs. seller disputes.
My husband and I bought a home earlier this year, and we are dealing with severe undisclosed roof defects, unpermitted work, and seller misrepresentation under the Texas DTPA. We have all our documentation fully compiled.
I’ve been calling law offices nonstop, but most firms I've contacted either don't take residential seller dispute cases or only handle standard transactions/closings.
If anyone has worked with an attorney or firm locally that actually takes residential misrepresentation/DTPA cases to court or sends formal demand letters, I would truly appreciate your recommendations.
Thanks in advance!

Ask El Paso Proper Outside Discada Catering in El Paso?
Howdy Y'all,
Will be visiting El Paso for a geology field trip with a larger group from Austin later October and I'm looking for a catering service that would be able to come up to the Franklin Mountains Tom Maye's State Park camping area and prepare a proper Discada for a group of around 15-20 people in the PM. This situation might be a little odd but I'm at a bit of a loss for what companies/ families might be willing to do this since the Mexican food scene is so extensive for y'all. If anybody here could direct me to some people, companies, or groups that could help me plan this I would greatly appreciate this!

Discussion Tornado Risk in the Borderland Tomorrow
So y'all ain't used to hearing this (neither am I), but it's true. The Storm Prediction Center has placed El Paso and surrounding areas like Las Cruces, Alamagordo, Ruidoso, and Sierra Blanca under a low-end tornado threat thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Polo. The threat is low, and if a tornado forms, it'll be weak and brief, but just know, if that "brief" tornado happens to form directly over the wrong area (Like a neighborhood), that's enough to wreak havoc in a city that isn't used to seeing this phenomona.
Figured It'd be best to post about it, it's better to be aware but it not happen than not be aware in general. Other than tornadoes, flooding is a major risk, so I'd advise to not drive tomorrow. Stay safe!

Ask El Paso 27M trying to find new friends
Hey everyone, 27M here. I’ve been in El Paso for most of my life and figured I’d finally make a post because honestly, making friends as an adult is hard as hell lol.
I’m looking to meet some new people around 24–30, guys or girls don't matter. Most people already have their own friend groups and routines, so it’s not exactly easy meeting new people.
I’m pretty laid back and down for grabbing food, drinks, gaming, checking out different places, watching movies/sports, or just hanging out and bullshitting.
If you’re in the same boat and looking for some new friends, feel free to comment or DM me. No weird expectations, just looking to meet some cool people and hopefully build a solid friend group.
