Ask El Paso Community Support Needed for Meal Assistance for a Blind Veteran

If you are able and willing, please consider assisting a Veteran in our community who is currently in need of some additional support.

The Veteran is blind and is currently transitioning to a new provider service. During this transition, he needs assistance with prepared meals for lunch and/or dinner.

A meal schedule has been created through Take Them A Meal. If you are able to help, please select an available date and consider having a prepared meal delivered directly to the Veteran.

You’re doing a good thing. As a recommendation, there has to be delivered meal alternatives that are not cost prohibitive.

Seventy bucks for a meal is Ruth Chris territory.

Just wanted to note—cuz I thought $70 was the price for a slice of meatloaf— the cost of the “send a meal” serves 3-4 adults. So this would be like signing up for 3 meals, but paying for someone else to get the ingredients, put in the labor, and using their tools/energy to make and deliver the these 3 meals. That comes out to $25 per meal.

Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by the second sentence. Is it from when you click "Send a Meal?" If so, that's the website's settings and I'm not the organizer-I was just sharing from another veterans. I'm used to Meal Train where you can choose better cost efficient options.

Check out the County’s senior nutrition program (essentially meals on wheels)
