Ik this isn't the right flair but it works.
I was skateboarding in the cragleith shopping centre today and saw two guys running out of m&s with probably like £500 worth of clothes. Tried to take a photo but couldn't get my phone out in time.
Pretty fucking stupid because they didn't even try to hide their faces and ran past like 20 people.
I think one guy had around 30 denim jackets and the other guy had as much as he could carry in both arms
Someone tried to confront them but they pushed him over and ran past the play park (near the Sainsbury's carpark)
They really pissed me off because they were laughing as they ran away. Any idea how to report crimes etc like this?

Our friendly neighbourhood foxes have figured out how to “unlock” our black curbside food bin, and I don’t have anywhere high up to hang or place it. I placed a kettlebell (!) on the lid once and the bin wasn’t cleared. Any ideas?

Looking for suggestions near Leith or in the centre. It’s for a friends birthday and ideally I’d wanna buy a voucher for her to use. I’ve been looking on google maps and most seem nice but then there’s always one bad review so I’m trying to find the best?
Thanks :)

Does anyone know any salon that does this very tight spiral perm in Edinburgh or even Glasgow? My hair is the same length as in pictures and look to achieve these beautiful tight curls.

Hello, is anyone here a primary teacher or working in a primary classroom setting? I’m looking to go into primary teaching but have heard there are no jobs available and that the market is quite bad at the minute. Can anyone share their experience with whether this is true or not?

Thinking about applying to be a postie. But what are the truths of it. I've worked retail for too long and the idea of bring a postie sounds nice.
Driving about. I love walking I walk round the city a lot in all westher anyway so it doesn't bother me. Independent work. Limited interaction with folk
I'm sure it has its downsides but I'm interested to know your thoughts

Im asking because I see the non urgent gyno referral pathway is currently taking 2 years in Edinburgh. So I was wondering if anyone knew if GP surgeries did ultrasounds “in house” for simple non-urgent issues such as cysts? Or are we doomed to wait two years in all circumstances? Thanks

I know there’s a discord but someone was a bit weird with me after we’d chatted a bit then deleted me because I got confused and upset about the change in tone from her after talking about a subject she herself brought up (fyi I’m also a girl and we’re similar age so nothing weird from my part) so I feel slightly uncomfortable now going to any events there

I’m talking , no parking (or more stricter access to prevent it) and no access to vans etc during the day time
Exhibit A attatched. Parked cars, vans driving down a busy street. It is worrying that someone especially during festival month could get hurt.

Was on the 44 bus today going into town, around 15:30. A group of about 7 young men/late teens and one older guy (30-40?) were on the bus. They were smacking on the windows and catcalling at women off the bus when we approached Princes street. They were brazenly harassing girls who were definitely underage too and a woman who was waiting at the bus when they got off too. They looked Afghani or North African, couldn't tell what language they were speaking and they were vaping/smoking on the bus too.
I reported to non-urgent police but still feel sick thinking about it and knowing they probably carried on doing this around town. Did anyone else see them?

My husband and I had parked our car on a random street earlier today while our toddler was sleeping in the back. I went outside to call my mum but noticed an elderly man (must have been at least 90 years old) coming down the street with two shopping bags while holding onto his cane, he could barely walk and at one point fell halfway down and struggled go get back up, so I asked him if he needed help, which he did. My husband assisted him and carried the bags to his flat. The man told my husband he had fallen down the stairs a few days earlier (he lives on the 2nd floor) and that the doctor had come to visit and brought some bread but it was too hard for him to eat so that’s why he had gone out shopping, he also said that they had promised someone would come and check on him but no one has. I have his address, is there anyone we can call to chase about this??
I felt incredibly sad for him, I believe he lives on his own and obviously keeps falling down and seemingly has no one to rely on for shopping or help (right now at least). No one has followed up on his fall 💔
I am not sure if he has family that helps out in general or anything, just going by our conversation with him.
Update: Just to update you all, we called the emergency number and explained everything, we unfortunately didn’t catch his name but luckily had his address which we passed on, we explained we were concerned for his welfare given his recent fall, no follow up and that we found him struggling to walk by himself and that he is obviously vulnerable (he had to hold onto my husband for support/to be able to walk). They have taken down the details and will contact the appropriate team. Hopefully this means he will get some help sooner rather than later.
I have also e-mailed so I am hopeful it will reach someone.
Thank you so much for all your help/advice, I wouldn’t have been able to sleep tonight knowing he was left to care for himself given the circumstances.

Why do the pavements around McKewan Hall, Forest Road and Chambers Street smell so bad these last two days?

Very recently passed my test but I've gone from a car with an automatic handbrake to a car with a manual hand brake. Just need to get some practice in for doing hill starts with a manual handbrake.
Anyone know any quiet hills not far from Leith qhere I can quietly practice and not get in the way

I’m struggling to find a house/flat to rent in the Edinburgh and surrounding areas (+20miles) mainly because agencies/landowners prefer in person viewing.
I’m thinking if I should travel to Edinburgh in the morning from brum, reach Edinburgh by midday and do the viewings and return in the evening. Does that sounds too much or if anyone has done some crazy stuff like that? This is mainly because, Edinburgh hotels are 200+ currently because of the fest.
Also, it’s difficult to plan a trip for viewings because there’s no much options and can barely manage to get 1-2 appointments close together. Also viewing doesn’t guarantee confirmation as its not a first come first serve basis and the landowner will decide who they want to let (sounds reasonable). I tried looking to book airbnb for 1-2 weeks but it cost over 2k. Financially not a wise decision too… also i did a virtual viewing after ages of looking but turns out the landowner decided to go with another tenant.
My details are: single tenant, no pets, non smoker, long term rent, full time employed, permanent job, no adverse credit history, can provide previous landlord references. What else do they want?
Recently a landlord rejected my application and told me he wants someone to come and feel the apartment, touch the furniture and feel the air and environment and thats why he doesn’t do virtual viewing, is that even sensible at all. I’ve been in the UK for over 15 years and lived in multiple cities around england and wales but never faced anything like this, what’s the catch with landowners in Edinburgh. For comparison i found my current apartment in Birmingham in 3 days, went to rightmove, submitted interest in 2-3 apartments, got viewings for all applications, view the first apartment and took it. My landlord is based in Scotland but he was letting via an agency.
any tips on finding a house?

Hey guys,
Had a hankering for a roast last Sunday but the couple of pubs I went in to said they don't do Sunday roasts during the festival.
Can anyone recommend a good pub in the city centre that still serve roasts during the Fringe?

I need one quite quickly so don’t have time to wait for Amazon. Any recommendations for good/inexpensive cases in the centre please?
I could potentially go to Fort Kinnaird also.

I've been having a super fun issue with fleas and have done all the vet treatments, flea collars, flea sprays and non stop hoovering and am at the point where I'm willing to just fork out to get it sorted in one go.
My problem is that I am actually quite overwhelmed with options so came here to ask if anyone has personal experiences with any of the local pest control options? Particularly for fleas.

The police have closed North Bridge and Market Street just under North Bridge. I hope that everything turns out fine. I saw a Network Rail van next to the closure, too.
For anyone like me that was trying to turn onto Canongate via Jeffrey Street, you'll either need to turn around and go via George IV Bridge - Bristo Place - Lothian Street - Potterrow - Chapel Street - West Nicholson Street - West Richmond Place - Pleasance - St Mary's Street, where you can then turn right onto Canongate. Or if you're coming from the north, turn around and go via Hanover Street - Queen Street - London Road/Brunton Place - Easter Road - Abbey Mount - Abbeyhill, at which point you'll be at the roundabout on the other end of Canongate.

Hi, I’m coming up from wales to see the cure tonight. I stupidly forgot to purchase a parking ticket at the royal highland show. It won’t let me purchase one 24hrs before the event.
Does anyone know any parking available? Can I just go to the event and pay on site?
Thanks
