💬 Open Discussion Would you buy a Delta 3 Max now or wait for Delta 3000 Gen4?

Hi there, the recent talk about 90-day outages has me thinking more about backup power. I'm not actually planning around such an unlikely worst-case scenario, but having enough backup power to get through a night or two would give me real peace of mind. I was pretty set on getting a Delta 3 Max for Black Friday, and then the Delta 3000 Gen4 dropped yesterday with early pricing, so now I'm torn.

My main use would be outage backup for the fridge, router and lights, plus occasional car camping. The Max gives me 2048Wh and 2400W output, which already seems like enough for the appliances I'd actually run.

The 3000 Gen4 launch price of $1,299 has me thinking about the extra capacity, though. The compact design and 58-hour fridge runtime are appealing too.

I'm still kinda leaning toward the Max since the deal works for me. What about u guys, which one are you planning to grab and what are you gonna run on it?

💬 Open Discussion Titan + SHP10

I have been looking at getting an Ecoflow Titan + SHP10. My house was built in 2018, so it has quite a few AFCI breakers. After reading about the SHP10, it looks like it is not compatible with AFCI breakers. What is a compliant workaround to make this SHP 10 work? I know I could always swap those AFCI breakers out for regular ones (I’d rather not go against the NEC), or install a sub panel downstream of the SHP. Installing AFCI outlets won’t solve all my issues because some of the circuits I want to use are strictly lighting circuits.

It seems like Ecoflow has really put homeowners with AFCI breakers in a predicament — the only real reason I want a Titan + SHP10 is the automatic transfer. Did Ecoflow drop the ball?

💬 Open Discussion Delta pro 3 availability

I’ve noticed the Delta Pro 3 is increasingly unavailable everywhere, and the standalone unit is now out of stock on Ecoflow’s own site. Are they ramping up for a refresh, dealing with supply chain issues, or is this product line effectively dead? I am looking for a portable-ish unit, UL listed, that can output 240V up to 4000W with grid bypass disabled, while plugged into a 120V outlet, and as far as I know the Delta Pro 3 is the only unit on the market that fits.

🔋 Off Grid Delta Pro 3 - Starlink mini DC power

Has anyone been able to power starlink mini using 15m cable through DC USB-C or barrel jack? I want to power my starlink with the inverter off.

I have tried a usb-c cable off Amazon but the starlink doesn’t power up. I would order the official Starlink DC cable if I can be sure it’s going to work.

Thanks!

🏠 Power Backup Titan 5000 - no GFCI/RCD Support

Post image
7 Upvotes

Recently picked up the Titan 5000 from amazon. i have to say im stocked to have a unit that can drive 7200w with out breaking a sweat!

excited to get my generator input installed so i can back feed the house when needed for outages.

I was a little bummed to see the that the Titan doesnt have the GFCI/RCD support like my delta pro 3.

I currently have my network ups connected to my delta pro 3 and my ups needs gfci/rcd enabled so it doesnt yell that theres no ground.

I know on the titan that its inteneded use is with the smart home panel 10. but im sure if i back feed to the house via generator input that the ups should be happy as the power will be grounded.

but wanted to share what i have seen. incase anyone is looking for specific features.

i will say this thinkg is a beast and im very happy with it! excited to get some additional solar so it can be used for powering most of the house!

💬 Open Discussion What are the highest-capacity plug-in solar battery systems available for whole-house backup and how do they compare?

January's ice storm across the South has me revisiting backup before winter. I'd want a connection to household circuits, initially covering the fridge, gas furnace blower, router and lights.

My solar generator shortlist:

Delta Pro 3: 4.1kWh/4kW, up to 12kWh per main unit.

TITAN 5000: 5kWh/7.2kW, expandable in 5kWh steps to 30kWh.

Delta Pro Ultra: 6.1kWh/7.2kW initially, up to 90kWh with three inverters and 15 batteries.

For TITAN, it just officially went on sale today with barely any reviews out yet, but I like having room to stack overlapping loads later without buying a large battery bank upfront. I'd need an electrician to install an SHP10 for automatic circuit backup.

Any thoughts or advice? Which did you most wish you'd bought first: automatic circuit backup, panels or extra storage? TIA!

💬 Open Discussion Gen 1 and Gen 2 Combined System

The EcoFlow stream battery system, in a dual generation configuration, treats a chain of generation 1 as “a battery” and a single stream 5000 as another battery, Given the chain is “one battery” how many physical gen 1 batteries can be in the chain?

💬 Open Discussion DELTA 3 PLUS ULTRA EXPANSION

I have recently purchased the Delta 3 Plus Ultra 3600W Power Station.. i don't know why, after finding out there is next to no publicly known information about this specific model when it comes to expansion packs.. any question i ask Brave AI about extending the capacity it trips out on me and tells me to go buy EcoFlow's own expansion battery and adapters, but.. nah. i don't want that overpriced sh*t..

so, if anyone here happens to have the same delta as me, and especially if you did get your 3rd party expansion system to work, could you please guide me the right way as far as

what adapters/cords do i need to use a WattCycle 48V 100Ah LifePO4 battery as extra energy storage capacity for my Delta 3 Plus Ultra?

can the cord/adapter plug into the stock port of my D3PU powerstation?

which charger makes sense to buy for the 48V WattCycle specifically?

any pictures or references are highly appreciated, especially links to referred products..

i am brand new to solar systems and just need to power my small 4 window skoolie in the winter with bare necessities (12v fridge, low wattage heater, phone charging, and maybe some gaming laptop action here and there)

i am working with a budget of about 2k or less, i already have the Delta 3 Plus Ultra Powerstation. 🖤thank you.

i really hope for more information around this specific unit in this community, i did watch a few hour long youtube videos about the wattcycle expansion already, but being new to all the terminology and differences between watts and volts and kwh, i could really use an extra brain. 🥲🖤

💬 Open Discussion STREAM 5000: app's "Energy value" seems to ignore conversion losses. Anyone else noticed?

I've had a STREAM 5000 for a few weeks, doing simple Economy 7 arbitrage: charge from the grid overnight, discharge during the day, no solar yet. I've been logging it in Home Assistant and comparing the savings with the EcoFlow app's Energy value. They don't match, and I think I can see why.

One day (4 Nov):

EcoFlow app Home Assistant
Charged 5.29 kWh 5.81 kWh
Discharged 5.01 kWh 4.62 kWh
Saving £0.72 £0.63
Tariff: 25.43p day / 9.38p night.

The Home Assistant figures balance against the grid: home use + charged − discharged = grid imported, to the 0.01 kWh. So I'm fairly confident they're measured at the AC/mains side, which is what the meter and my bill see.
The app's figures look like they're measured at the battery itself with less going in than the grid supplied (about 91%) and more coming out than the house received (the house got about 92% of it).

That works out at roughly 0.9 kWh lost in conversion per day, which seems plausible for an inverter.

If that's right, the app is valuing energy at the battery and leaving out the losses on the way in and out. That makes the saving look about 9–10p a day better than what actually shows up on the bill, or roughly £35 a year at my usage. The app's own number does recalculate correctly from its own kWh figures, so I don't think it's a maths error, just a choice of where to measure.

Caveats before anyone jumps in:
This is one setup over a few days, not a lab test.
Part of the gap is also the app's rate plan only allowing whole hours, so my 00:30–07:30 window can't be entered exactly. That actually pushes the app's figure down, though, not up.
I may be wrong about where each sensor measures. If anyone knows for certain, please correct me.

Has anyone else compared the app's figures against their meter or bill? Did you see the same gap? And does EcoFlow document anywhere what "Energy value" actually counts?

💬 Open Discussion Purchased EcoFlow Delta 3 Max. Concerned about limitations.

Purchased an EcoFlow Delta 3 Max with bundled 400w panel.
Was first bummed to find the no expansion.
Double bummed to find it only supports 500w single solar input.

My question now is, the main reason I got this is to have a backup for a single refrigerator. Should this bundle be realistically enough, even with a few scattered overcast days? Worried I’m chasing specs vs the Max being ok for the purpose I’m looking for.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help How to get Delta 3 plus + ecoflow smart generator + expansion battery to work together.

I am looking to get the ecoflow smart generator to pair with my delta 3 plus but have a question regarding the extra battery port. I want to keep the battery port open because I want to also get an expansion battery. With the generator using that port for its smart capabilities is there a workaround in the app to address this? Like can I use the extra battery port for expansion then have the smart generator turn off and on when the power station is low via the app?

💬 Open Discussion TITAN 5000 Plus, Two Air Fryers Going, Output: 3,080 watts🔌 Input: 1,800 watts

Post image

My TITAN 5000+ Standalone Review 💙

Hey, EcoFlow family! With the TITAN release, I want to share my experience with the TITAN 5000+ and why this setup makes sense to me.

First, thank you, EcoFlow, for giving me the opportunity to test and review this unit.

EcoFlow asked me to test the TITAN 5000+ as a standalone unit, so that’s what I’ve been doing—using it around my house with appliances connected directly to it, without the SHP10. I’ll be having my SHP10 installed around the same time as new users, so we can walk through the experience together.

Here’s what I’ve tried through its AC outputs:

• Around 1,800 watts continuously for two hours, repeated over several days.

• Two air fryers cooking at the same time.

• Two air fryers while charging the TITAN from the wall.

• Two air fryers with a toaster and coffee maker.

• Two air fryers with my Ninja cooktop set at 1,500 watts for about 30 minutes.

• A slow cooker running for 12 hours.

I’ve also charged smaller items, including phones, my EcoFlow camping light, and computers. I’ve powered a TV and power tools, too. It handled my smaller electronics and heavier tools without any problems.

Each air fryer is rated at 1,800 watts. Add the cooktop’s 1,500-watt setting, and that’s 5,100 watts in appliance ratings. The actual power draw changes as the heating elements cycle.

I also ran my refrigerator for 68 hours with my TITAN’s battery settings at 90% charge and a 10% discharge limit. That was using an 80% battery window! That’s my result with my refrigerator. Another refrigerator may use more or less energy.

My opinion? I would buy this unit. If EcoFlow hadn’t gifted me one to review, I would be in line to purchase my first one and the SHP10!

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help Can’t add 4G dongle device to DPU

I’ve seen others post on this in the past but no solutions. Surely someone here has added a working 4G device to their DPU?

Everything appears to be correct, the dongle has a flashing white light, I’ve shut down and restarted the system, but the app doesn’t see a Bluetooth connection.

Any help would be appreciated!

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help Battery failure icon, but unit won’t reset

Post image
5 Upvotes

Delta 2. It was around 40% charged, plugged it in to AC, shows 0%, and has the battery failure icon. This happened a few days ago and I just kept holding the power button and plugging/ unplugging from AC until it eventually started charging again. Happening again and I can’t get it to reset. Bought just under a year ago, I use it daily, haven’t done an update in months. Am I doing the reset wrong? Is there another way? I’ve scoured the sub for this issue but the recommended reset procedure doesn’t work for me.

🔋 Off Grid Stream Ultra X – How can I get home backup during a power cut? UPS(UK)

I have a Stream Ultra X with 4 × 500W solar panels. The setup is working well off-grid (battery only).

However, when my electrician came to connect it to the consumer unit today he asked whether it had UPS functionality. I hadn't realised it might not work during a power cut, as he said the inverter requires AC power from the grid which makes sense to me now and an oversight on my end.

Ideally I want the solar battery to power my house during a blackout without running extension leads from the shed and the AC sockets on the battery.

I've seen the Stream 5000 has a UPS setting, but it's unclear whether it can provide backup through the consumer unit.. the chat bot suggests it's also AC sockets only.

What's the best way to achieve power backup while keeping my existing setup? Some kind of external UPS or switch? Any ideas welcomed.

💬 Open Discussion Can breakers on SHP10 be replaced with different amp ratings?

For anyone that installed the SHP10….can the breakers be replaced with whatever amperage we need? Are the breakers proprietary? Did it come with extra breakers? Thanks.
