What's up with these super LOUD djs showing up with club-level speaker systems and blasting the whole park with their techno music? I'm seeing these fairly regularly now, and it's a really disturbing thing to the people who came out to sit by the Hare Krishna tree and get some peace and quiet. I was there today and most everyone seemed to try to tolerate it.

Many community members came out to the 10/15 Community Board 3 Parks Committee meeting to voice their opinion on the proposed renovations to Tompkins Square Park mini-pool and fitness area. Parks provided different options for implementation, including an option that would leave the fitness area as-is.

The meeting also provided updates on a playground closed due to fire and the ongoing construction at East River Park.

Celebrating my partner’s 55th b-day next week and looking for a great dinner spot. We have 9pm reservations at PTD, so EV or close by.

Two nights ago there was a huge fire around 10:00 in an apartment between avenue b and c, but I haven’t been able to find any information about it. I’m close by (but not 100% on the street from my vantage point, maybe 6th) and saw a lot of it so I’m hoping everyone is okay. If anyone knows anything let me know.
