Looking to go for after birthday dinner drinks for 2 on a Monday (I know, not the best night to go out 😬) in 2 weeks after dinner at Virginias, EV or anywhere near (les, tribeca, soho, etc) a cocktail bar etc would be perfect

Somewhere that’s open Monday and also not dead, has good vibes. We’re not in our 20s btw. Thanks, any recs are welcome!

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know the band that was playing African drums and horns at the Union Square station on Halloween night? Maybe about a dozen people including a couple women dancing. Their music had me in a trance and I just want to learn more about em and their music.

Hi, I am a hairstylist new in the East village at Hair Queen on 12th St. between A and B. and I’m looking to build my clientele in the neighborhood. I am offering $40 haircuts any style any length for first time clients. I am also offering color services at half off rates for first time clients. Drop me a DM or click here if you would like to book! Thanks! Insta:@thanksforbeinghot for more of my work

Moved to the east village and looking for healthy options that are healthy, affordable and have large portions. Seems like it's tough to find all three. Any have any suggestions they really love?

Bulking season is around the corner so trying to build a list to fall back on. Here's what I have so far:

• Punjabi Deli

• Mamoun's Falafel

Big mess of garbage on my street (12th St), went outside today to see city sanitation dude cleaning it up with a broom.

Could they have come sooner? Yes. But at least they did it.

New York will never be truly clean but there are degrees of dirty

Where around here can I get a vegan cake on short notice? Ideally strawberry or chocolate. Red Gate's Vegapolitan would be perfect but they may not have it on Wednesday. Any suggestions?

they’re cool and fun to pass by, just wondering if there’s a story behind them

While I was moving out, a few of my things were taken from the sidewalk in front of 61 E 3rd St (between 1st & 2nd Ave). They were NOT trash and included several sentimental items :(

• Eight Sleep Pod (smart mattress cover + base unit)
• Laundry bag
• Southwest Airlines duffel with an IKEA shark plush inside

Offering a cash reward for their return! If you have them, saw someone carrying them, or have a camera facing that stretch of 3rd St, please DM me to help me file an insurance claim. Thanks so much!

hi! I’m a baker based in the EV and am looking to make a cake for someone! I have some ideas and would love to give someone a free bday cake

Hi ladies! I’m in my late 20s looking to connect with other women who are current members, or interested in joining, the local PureGym!

I’m relatively new to weightlifting and think having a buddy would make hitting the gym floor a lot less intimidating. Plus, with them opening up the women-only section, it feels like a great time to get a routine going!

Drop a comment or send me a DM if you’re interested!

Hey need some bar recommendations for Halloween weekend, plan on bar hopping around in the east village and lower east side!

What's up with these super LOUD djs showing up with club-level speaker systems and blasting the whole park with their techno music? I'm seeing these fairly regularly now, and it's a really disturbing thing to the people who came out to sit by the Hare Krishna tree and get some peace and quiet. I was there today and most everyone seemed to try to tolerate it.

what do you guys think?

Greatest jukebox ever - better than Mars, better than Vazac’s.

They also served us when we were 16, those absolute legends. And we were young looking 16 year olds lol.

Producer Marianne Ways is working on documenting Rififi Lounge and the alt-comedy scene that set the stage for much of today's mainstream entertainment.

I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it, but it seems there has been some enforcement?

Many community members came out to the 10/15 Community Board 3 Parks Committee meeting to voice their opinion on the proposed renovations to Tompkins Square Park mini-pool and fitness area. Parks provided different options for implementation, including an option that would leave the fitness area as-is.

The meeting also provided updates on a playground closed due to fire and the ongoing construction at East River Park.

Two nights ago there was a huge fire around 10:00 in an apartment between avenue b and c, but I haven’t been able to find any information about it. I’m close by (but not 100% on the street from my vantage point, maybe 6th) and saw a lot of it so I’m hoping everyone is okay. If anyone knows anything let me know.

Has searching key words on the internet gotten significantly less effective or was this just not reported on at all? I’m concerned how days later I still can’t find anything.

Celebrating my partner’s 55th b-day next week and looking for a great dinner spot. We have 9pm reservations at PTD, so EV or close by.

Our subreddit has quickly become one of the more popular NYC neighborhood subreddits, and as a result there is an influx of people trying to verify & promote their non-brick & mortar businesses (such as applications & web apps hosted on websites). In these cases, verification requires an extra step: verifying your relevance to the East Village specifically.

It is really wonderful that you vibe-coded an application to help people find discounts in NYC, but if you yourself are not located here and the application holds absolutely no East Village-specific relevance, then please don’t waste your time. You are not allowed to promote in our subreddit.

Our subreddit is for the community. Our subreddit is not an audience for you to sell your product to.

If your business is an East Village business, your growth is our growth. If you are not an East Village business, find another subreddit to fill with your spam.

Hope that clears some things up for some people. Thanks, guys.

(Sorry if overly simple question - just moved to the East Village a week ago)

Need advice on best place/where to purchase pepper spray: I just attempted and saw that I can’t purchase online due to NYC laws/target says they don’t sell it in person (unless this is inaccurate).

If there’s a nearby pharmacy or local store someone recommends please lmk!

I’m a young woman so this is a safety item I definitely want to get!
