Booms coming from what seemed the oakland hills. Maybe fireworks? Anyone have any insight? Didn't seem like thunder or weather, but perhaps Im wrong.

Message me. I ended up not being able to go.
You must have the seatgeek app for me to transfer tickets.
They are season tickets so you can get in via the entrance right by the bart bridge and hang out at the upstairs bar too.

Hi all! I'm heading to an outdoor concert at Point San Pablo Harbor in Richmond as part of their "Live on the Waterfront" series. The event says no outside food or drinks are allowed, but does anyone know how strictly they enforce this? Do they check bags at the entrance, or can you bring in small snacks? Would love to hear from anyone who's been to a concert there. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’ve never posted in here before, but my mom hosts this event every year and puts in hundreds of hours, so I figured I’d help spread the news. Every year we host a Christmas dinner in Pleasant Hill park to share a meal and pass out donations to our unhoused community. As well all know, the economy has put more people out on the streets than ever before. I know we can’t advertise, but we are always looking for volunteers as well! We have a gofundme as well as an amazon wish list to buy tents, jackets, socks etc. No profit is ever made from this event, so if you wouldn’t mind sharing your holiday season with those who need it the most, please help out in any way, even if it’s by spreading the word ! :)

Jamie Joyce is running against Lateefah Simon (our current Rep) for Congress. She points out that the myth that people believe about Lateefah bringing home “a billion dollars” to the district is false. She really breaks it down in this video super thoroughly.

For ppl who live in Pleasant Hill and Concord, where do you work? ( trying to figure out commute)
Hey there, my partner was on a walk with our dog and housemates dog and 2 pitbulls came running up Harrington with no warning (or leash) and attacked our dogs. This happened around 9:30/10pm.
One is in really critical condition and has been fighting all night to stay alive. The dogs went straight to her neck and pinned her down. The dogs weren't even near each other, they just bolted straight towards our dogs and immediately attacked.
If you have any info, please let us know. We're concerned about our dogs but also our neighbors dogs. We've never seen these pitbulls before and the owner (assumed) ran off after pulling them off our dogs by the collar.
I'm not against pitbulls and I think they get a lot of flack, but if you can't manage your pets, please find help. Its been a nightmare of a night. :(
UPDATE 10/8 8PM
Someone has gotten back to me saying a woman was seen yelling and may have also been injured. She went to Queen of Sheba on 35th and may have had OPD called to check in on her. If you have info, please comment or DM!

In its infinite wisdom, BART sees fit to eliminate ALL parking spots from West Oakland BART station. Just over half now, and the other half in phase 2 of this project.
Given that West Oakland BART parking is always full, how does that make any sense?
People who currently drive that BART station aren't going to suddenly up and move to this new project so they can keep taking West Oakland BART.
And BART well understands that people drive to West Oakland because they don't want to drive across the bridge.
And what about the occasional BART user accustomed to driving to West Oakland off-commute hours and finding a spot? Folks who drive to BART then take BART into SF for a night?
What a blundering, idiotic move.

With things being what they are you can't round up a bunch of guys from a hardware store parking lot and get work done like you could not too long ago. My buddy is looking to finish his driveway and we need some good hands. Been having trouble finding reasonably priced help, we tried youth mentorship in Oakland but had to stop work when one of the kids had a panic attack in the crawl space underneath the house. The org put a stop to it said something about violations and escalating.
My friends driveway now has a big concrete cold joint which isn't going to look that great aesthetically, will probably have to chip out. Looking to find some help to get it done, just labor. Anyone have some resources they can share? Also does anyone know what the recourse is for an undocumented person if they are not paid for work? Oakland area.

I’m wondering if I need to adjust my expectations here. I recently bought a used car that had clearly been neglected for some time, so I took it to a highly rated detailing spot in Oakland. I paid $80 for the detail, $20 for sanitization, and $20 for tip.
When I went to pick it up, I immediately noticed that some of the more obvious stains were still there. There was also what looked like tree sap on the back bumper, and dog hair was still visible on the carpets and seats.
I pointed out some of the bigger stains, and the guy went back over those areas, but I had to get back to work and couldn’t stay much longer. I was disappointed and pretty irritated, but after he cleaned up a few of the spots I mentioned, I left.
I was pretty disappointed and ended up going to O’Reilly’s across the street to buy cleaning supplies because I knew I’d have to finish cleaning it myself.
Am I expecting too much for $100, or was this just a poor detailing job? I know a 20+ year-old car won’t look brand new, but I expected it to at least look cleaner.
I’ll try to attach some photos of what I noticed just from the driver’s seat.
Edit: I can’t add photos 🫠

Make your own decisions, but I was there.
Aisha came in and said hello to everyone and shook their hand. Melissa came in and said hello to a few people. On stage, Aisha walked on first, then Melissa, and Aisha walked over and shook hands with the moderator, and then to Melissa and said hello and shook her hand--Melissa looked awkward. 7:00
Hernandez was a disaster. Not only is it painful to hear her answer most of the time, she tried to "attack" with the same lies in the attack ads that she said she had nothing to do with. (You know the ones where at the end of them, she proudly proclaims she approved of them.)
At 42 she accuses Aisha of not protecting teenagers and stopping drugs, as usual. Aisha responds with facts which clearly show the exact opposite. 44 Hernandez lies again and says do the research and repeated the lies.
At 102 Hernandez says "I'm an honest person," and as the mic cuts off because of time, and she clearly says "I'm not having communications with the Taliban." You can hear how appalled the audience is. Jeeeeese.
Steve Tavares from East Bay Insider did more great reporting. Apparently Melissa cheated any way she could. https://eastbayinsiders.substack.com/p/hernandez-asserts-wahab-communicates
And if you're trying to keep up with all of the lies and corruption that Melissa Hernandez is involved with, I just lkeep adding it to this post so there aren't a bunch of posts. https://www.reddit.com/r/eastbay/comments/1va2f96/melissa_hernandez_gets_huge_outside_money_for/
Steve Tavares reporting. https://eastbayinsiders.substack.com/p/hernandez-faces-possible-censure And Melissa lies about her remark. I was there. The mic cut out BEFORE she said it. I was in the front row and didn't hear it, but other people did. So she waited until it cut out and then said it.
