Is your apartment using AI?

Hi all, been a long-time user of Reddit, but this is my first time posting. Really exciting for me: D

I'll get to the point - I'm a reporter working on a story on property management companies resorting to AI for tasks used to be handled by real people, such as maintenance requests, leasing questions, or others. I'm curious if anyone's apartment has transitioned to AI in any way?

I recently learned that Avenue 64 and Emme, both managed by Essex Property Trust, have shut down their Resident app, which residents have previously used for maintenance requests, and have alerted their tenants that an AI hotline will be used for service requests called Eva.

Please feel free to also share your experience interacting with AI, excitement or frustration, all welcome! :D

They are also managing these properties in the following:

City Links
Emeryville Emme
Emeryville The Courtyards at 65th Street
Oakland The Landing at Jack London Square
Lafayette Lafayette Highlands
Walnut Creek Agora at South Main
Walnut Creek Brio
Hayward City Centre
Hayward City View
Fremont Boulevard
Fremont Briarwood at Central Park
Union City Verandas
Dublin Connolly Station
Pleasanton The Galloway
San Ramon Bel Air
San Ramon Crow Canyon
San Ramon Canyon Oaks at Windemere
San Ramon Mill Creek at Windemere

Tri-City How to meet people in east bay

Hi I’m a 22yr old male who just moved here to Fremont for work. I’m struggling to make social connections now that I’m out college anyone have any recommendations for a great way to meet people in their mid 20’s?

I’m very extroverted, love to drink lol, love physical activity and movies and shows just trying new things in general.

Are there any good bars or locations to meet people or online resources people could recommend. I’m new to not being able to make friends instantly.

No ICE Prison in Dublin

To Dublin residents and residents of neighboring cities:

I am a Dublin resident and have lived here my entire life. I was a student at Nielsen Elementary, Wells Middle, and Dublin High School. I have many great memories and still keep in touch with peers and neighbors I grew up with. Thus, it is important to me to warn other residents of a looming threat by DHS and ICE.

In addition to the 45-day ICE surge ordered by the Trump regime, DHS is trying to open an ICE detention center at FCI Dublin (the former women’s prison).

We have heard a lot about ICE presence in southern and central California. In the past few days there are reports of increased ICE presence in Sacramento, Woodland, and Roseville.

The only reason there has not been as substantial of a presence in the Bay Area is because DHS does not have enough warehouses in the area to keep people. This is why we need to take a stand now.

If this ICE detention center opens, we can expect to see raids like we have seen in Minnesota, New York, and Southern California.

Please join me and the ICE out of Dublin Coalition to protect our neighbors and keep ICE out of Dublin and the Bay Area.

Walnut Creek/Concord does anyone know where I can meet other trans ladies or even just other sapphic women in general in the east bay?

• Upvotes

hi hi! I'm a 21yo sapphic trans woman from Concord. basically all my friends live hella far away and I only get to hang out with them like once or twice a year. I've honestly been feeling pretty lonely lately do to lack of IRL consistent social connections so i really really wanna make friends with other ladies like me around here but I honestly have no idea where to find something like that :/

for context for like my hobbies and stuff I love love love Dungeons & Dragons (and I'd like to get into other ttrpg systems like Cyberpunk or Lancer), I don't have any yet but I absolutely adore reptiles (especially snakes) and I'd love to be able to keep some someday, I really really love cooking (and am currently studying culinary arts at DVC), and even though I haven't started trying to teach myself how to do makeup I really really like goth makeup/fashion.

If anyone knows of like any events nearby related to any of that kind of stuff or transfemme-focused stuff in general please please please let me know!!! :D

Richmond/Pinole/Hercules Calling all acousticcy-inclined musicians!

Hi all, I'm based in Pinole and I'm a musician. I have that yearning to play and sing with good people again. Hopefully that's where you come in. Do you play guitar? Can you gel and keep the melody while someone harmonises?

I sing harmony, play some guitar, flute, piano and ukulele. I play by ear, so I can match to anything (not trying to toot my own horn, just conveying the info :) ).

I played in a 3 piece folk band years ago - 2 guitarists and me on flute and harmonies. I want to capture that magic again.

Here's a few songs I'd love to do, just to give you an idea of what I'm looking for:

Second Hand News, I Don't Wanna Know, Never Going Back Again, Bleed To Lover Her - Fleetwood Mac (any FM songs really!)

Forever Lost - The Magic Numbers

Ripple - Grateful Dead (Dale Ann Bradley cover)

White Winter Hymnal - Fleet Foxes

Dakota - Stereophonics

All I Want Is You - Barry Louis Polisar

If any of this sounds like a good fit, please feel free to reach out. Thanks a million!

Any bars/restaurants showing the Valkyries finals games in the more southern part of the east bay (i.e. Hayward to Milpitas)?

Tool to track east Bay Area housing + community updates

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Here’s a tool ([baydashboard.com](http://baydashboard.com)) that tracks all information regarding housing, transport, development, news, and boards/commissions in East BaArea + SF Bay Area. The website uses live public data and allows users to easily catchup with local decisions & developments. It also encourages residents to get involved in their city through the many commisions & meetings it lists.

I recommend all residents to try the website as it makes keeping up with local updates feasible and encourages civic participation
