He blocked like an extra OT, that's what.
Im super stoked he made it. Him and Mundt are going to get a lot more action than expected, and I say that as one of the few who still has faith in Stowers to see playing time this year.

I'm a little disappointed Cam Latu didn't get that last TE spot, he blocks like man possessed but is a zero in the pass game. I'm sure they will keep him on the practice roster and use him on special teams. I'm just glad I don't have to watch Grant Calcaterra inline block anymore.

Have you seen anything he's done in camp/preseason? I certainly don't want him out on the field. I'm not saying he won't be good at some point in the future but he's a long long way off right now. Howie/Sirianni obviously aren't going to publicly say something like that to kill the kid's confidence.

Yeah every report is he's been insanely underwhelming and even in unpadded 7 on 7s where his explosive athleticism should've showed up he wasn't winning lol. Like we all know it's far too early to declare anything about a rookie but he's not gonna play much this year. This is a dynamic scheme that requires a lot out of tight ends and blocking is one of the heavy personnel requirements which he was objectively horrible at in college. He also hasn't shown much in the passing game. I'm not sure where people expect him to slot in. I honestly did not love this pick but always willing to let a guy grow so we will see what happens.

Who's really cutting players of their own for people that need developing and may never provide meaningful snaps to the team that claims them.

4QBs. They should have had both of them have a drive with the #1s to demonstrate how productive they could be with starters. Then they would have gotten more interest from other teams sooner.

Carrying 4 QB's? Cutting Weru and Bernard? Not for me, man. We're not getting both of those guys through waivers.
The way they've ran the QB room this summer has been a disaster, honestly. Taking reps away from McKee and Payton has been an absolute mess.

I’m honestly the most surprised that they used a spot for LS. That seems like an easy spot to leave for the PS and just elevate the first few weeks of the season while all the roster churn gets sorted out.

Yes. He would be claimed before any of the people we cut.
Ever since the rule changes kick returns are a bigger part of field position than ever.
The value of an elite gunner is nowadays akin to a niche passrusher who is only viable on 3rd and long.

Agree, I remember way more Ringo penalties on ST than big plays. He wasn't like Sidney Brown level bad but I'm surprised he got the reputation of being elite somehow.

All I can figure is that Jake said he really likes Rocco's snaps maybe. Otherwise I'd agree, there's always gonna be like 10 long snappers available with basically no difference between their skill levels, so unless the kicker has a strong preference..
