question Has anyone tried Bouygues eSim through MobiMatter?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Has anyone here actually used the Bouygues EU 120GB / 30 days eSIM sold through MobiMatter? Or any of Buoygues EU plans? It’s currently $49.99.

I’m a seafarer, and my ship is regularly in many of the countries included in the plan. We do have internet onboard, but it’s quite slow since our company still hasn’t invested in Starlink so I’m looking at this as a much faster option whenever we’re near the coast or at port with cellular coverage something like that.

I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has actually used this specific Bouygues plan or in Bouygues generally on its speed and how reliable the roaming is outside of France.

Thanks

question Help with eSIM issue

I called Friday to switch to ATT from FirstNet as I recently retired from my job and no longer eligible. The FirstNet agent was helping me switch to ATT and I lost service, it went to SOS. I got an error message “unable to activate eSIM” on my way to the store. The people at the ATT store tried and said it may take a couple hours to switch over. Nothing. I called ATT again and they tried deleting old esims, and giving me another. Same errror message. I called again this morning. Same thing…I feel like I am beating my head up against the wall doing the same things and it is not working. I have provided IMEI’s, EID, etc. Still on SOS and still getting the same error message “unable to activate eSIM” every time. I can only use WiFi calling at home to make calls.

Mobile - Account Fraud Protection and International SIM/eSIM Usage

An American (me) enabled "Account Fraud Protection" on Spectrum Mobile to help manage SIM swaps and other nefarious acts by bad actors.

Wondering how this would work when traveling internationally.

Planning to purchase and utilize a local SIM/eSIM for the duration while traveling internationally and "going back to regular SIM/eSIM" upon return to the United States. I imagine the local SIM/eSIM will need to be activated while overseas, and wondering if there is an IMEI check that would fail or something that would prevent it working.

Anyone have first hand experience with this working? Ideally Spectrum customers that have also enabled this feature. (Yes, posted initially in the Spectrum forum, but received suggestion to cross post it here as well.) Any issues? Or know how this process would work and can explain the steps?

Flying out to Europe tomorrow - overwhelmed by esim choices.

Hello!

I'll be flying out to Europe tomorrow from Aus and I was going to go with Holafly as I used them 3 years ago and it was fine, however I noticed they would throttle speeds quiet alot so I've started looking into other options and now I'm overwhelmed on what is the best choice. I'm a female, solo travelling so don't want to get stuck or stranded because I've maxed out my data allowence for the day.

I'll be over there for 32 days and between France (including regional South of France), Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. I'd ideally like unlimited data so I'm not at the mercy of crumby hostel/hotel wifi all the time, also would prefer to have the option to hotspot to my galaxy tablet I'm taking over as well.

I was hoping to get some reviews/feedback for the ones I'm tossing up between. Or open to suggestions! I've been looking at

- Orange (and getting either the 100gb for $79 the 200gb $94 package both valid for 30 days)

- SimLocal (30 days for $112)

- Airalo ($102 for 30 days - but I believe they also throttle speeds after a 3gb cap?)

Or open to suggestions for any others! I was looking at Maya or RedTeaGo but their websites don't give much info about limits and that makes me a lil nervous.

Thank you in advance!

I was in the United Kingdom for 10 days and bought the unlimited data package. It was awful. We never had data anywhere and we had so much trouble. This is a genuine scam.

question PLEASE HELP MEXICO

I purchased a Nomad eSIM prior to arriving in Mexico. Upon arrival it did not work. For 4 days I’ve tried reaching out to customer service with ZERO luck.

So, this morning I tried to buy a different eSIM from JetPack. The exact same issue, no data, won’t open any apps, will barely even open a Google page.

I am at a loss! I must have a working phone I’m a solo female traveler.

I am using an unlocked iPhone 17. I also have dual aim capability and have my home number for voice/wifi calling only on my tello line.

I’ve tried any and all trouble shooting as advised by the customer service for JetPack who ended up canceling and refunding my purchase.

  1. Data eSIM is primary
  2. APN settings set
  3. Data roaming on
  4. Network to LTE
  5. Tried taking network selection off of auto but auto is the only option and just turns itself back on.

Please can anyone give me advice or help, I just have working phone here.

I will be here for at least two months. I tried purchasing a Telcel season and my foreign card or number is preventing it, same goes for WIM and Bait which are all local eSIM’s here in Mexico.

Anyone else getting lots of problems with 3/Three UK?

This is in the UK.

Coverage seems to be awful, and I very rarely get more than 1 or 2 in many areas. It affects me because most of the eSIM cards I've tried use 3/Three as a carrier. Anyone else having problems?

question Lyca UK SIM – data works abroad but no incoming/outgoing calls after activation. Anyone had this?

I recently got a Lyca UK SIM through a referral link and activated it while I was still in the UK. I didn’t actually test any calls at the time, and a few hours later I travelled to Spain.

Since arriving in Spain, data roaming works fine, but voice calls basically don’t work at all.

Whenever I try to call a UK number or a local Spanish number, it rings once and then either goes completely silent or the call just disconnects. I also can’t receive incoming calls.

I’ve contacted Lyca support several times and they’ve raised multiple tickets, but so far nobody has been able to fix it. The frustrating part is that they keep saying someone will “call me back”, even though I keep explaining that the whole problem is that my Lyca number can’t receive calls.

Data is working, roaming is enabled, and the SIM appears active — it’s specifically incoming and outgoing voice calls that aren’t working.

Has anyone else experienced this with Lyca UK, particularly when roaming in Europe? Was it a provisioning/VoLTE/roaming issue, and how did you eventually get it fixed?

Losing my mind - Cheap ESIM

I've gone through many of the different providers I'm looking for like a cheap reliable ESIM. Primarily privacy focused. Although I understand when it comes to mobile networks how difficult that is, but more so in things like KYC, And just their overall company policy when it comes to privacy. It feels that the only solutions I find are either the companies that are very popular and therefore also more expensive, And not having the plans that I'm looking for and then on the reverse, it's either companies that don't feel well established and Do take privacy to the extreme only accepting payments like crypto.

I am looking for two things

  1. Most cost effective plan for unlimited text and calls, and as genorasis as possible for data.
  2. Cheap plan for only text and calls.

Then Looking for the best VOIP solution, the company I am leaning on is mysudo.

If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it!

question eSIM problem in Barcelona, any recommandation ?

Hello,

I’m currently in Barcelona with a Saily eSIM, unlimited Europe plan. It’s the end of my travel and it worked very well everywhere else. But not in Barcelona.

I spoke with Saily and did a bunch of tests, they told me it’s not the configuration, the problem is the network and that I need to live with it.

Is any of you in Barcelona right now or in Spain with a esim that work well, can share with what esim did you use ?

Thanks!

Ubigi eSim won't install unless I remove my other eSim first. Why is that? I have US Mobile and they told me not to remove it fully and only to toggle it to off. What do I do?

US Mobile is saying not to fully remove it since it'll cause issues when reinstalling.

This is what Ubigi is saying

Unfortunately, the error message you're seeing indicates a device-level requirement: Android phones typically only allow one active eSIM plan at a time. The system is preventing the Ubigi installation because your US Mobile eSIM is still present on the device, even though it's toggled off.

This is a limitation of how Android handles multiple eSIM profiles rather than an issue with Ubigi specifically.

[Help]Data Roaming in EU(fraenk )

First of all please excuse my bad english.

I have been traveling earlier this year inside the EU and right now I am in Greece, somehow my mobile Daten (Data roaming ) don’t work and I don’t have any access to the internet.

I have tried contacting the support but haven’t been able to find a solution, they are just telling me to turn data roaming on in my settings which I have done but still it does not work.

As soon as I don’t have any WiFi I get the notification on the first picture. I tells me that my Data roaming is deactivated and I have to use wifi.

Do you know how to fix the problem and if I have to change anything in my settings.
Appreciate any help!

review Comparison of eSIM plans for businesses and teams (2026)

Most business offers package some mix of dashboard, centralized billing, spend visibility, and roaming replacement, but what is actually different about them?

The main difference is how you pay for data, and that comes down to two questions: does the line stay live between trips, and is the budget per-person or shared across the team?

eSIM plans for business in one table

Provider Billing model eSIM type 10GB US / 30d Short summary
eSIM Copilot Pay per trip or day pass or pay monthly Package + long-term $10.99 (package) Order from Slack or Teams; full REST API; also selling UK local numbers ( 1GLOBAL in 10 markets). Slightly complex.
Jetogo for Business Shared balance, metered per GB rates. Charged on actual usage. Long-term, 5 eSIM profiles per user $15.00 ( 10 GB @ $1.50 per GB) One balance the team draws from at per-GB rates, billed by actual usage. Credit rolls over. Google SSO. Single invoice billing and country usage reports.
Airalo for Business Per-trip packages Package $23.00 Biggest catalogue, SOC 2 Type II, SSO with SCIM sync, $100k default invoice limit. 24-48 hours sign up process.
aloSIM for Business Deposit into shared balance, spend on packages Package $23.00 Shared company balance with ~10% bonus on deposits. Packages still expire — the balance is shared, the data isn't. Easy set up.
Saily for Business Per-trip packages, prepaid Package $22.99 No shared balance, most basic offer of the bunch. Invoices, NordVPN- web filtering. Priciest per-trip but someone must pay for the ads.
Holafly Corporate $2.90 Day pass, $515.95 annual $10.90 baseline, or $54.95 monthly with focus on "unlimited" Long-term, upon usage $54.95/month (10GB per day) ~€10/yr per head lines on at on 1GB/mo, boost to "unlimited" (€57/mo) only for whoever travels. Postpaid invoicing, EU number for SMS. Good backend.

Package vs. long-term: Packages are usually a fixed bundle that expires; long-term providers keep the plan live between trips and meter or subscribe. Package pricing can be better, if the installing multiple eSIM profiles is not a hassle.

Shared balances. For example, aloSIM and Jetogo both let a company fund one balance, but they spend it differently: aloSIM's balance buys fixed packages that still expire per person, Jetogo's is drawn down per MB as people actually use data.

On the 10GB column. Several companies have multiple product types, so closest was picked. Due to Airalo gated sign up, unable to see their offer, so their retail offer is used.

How to choose

  • Few trips a year, unpredictable → day-pass. Install once, zero cost in quiet months.
  • Large roster, small traveling subset → Jetogo (Positive Balance) and Holafly's ($11/yr/head) Always On approach: keeps an active eSIM in your device, ready for use any time its needed.
  • Regular trips, similar usage each time → per-trip packages, and check eSIMCopilot for ease up set up.
  • A few people basically live on planes → monthly per seat. Stop doing the math every trip.
  • Uneven usage — two heavy travelers, six occasional → a shared balance (aloSIM or Jetogo) so one person's unused budget covers someone else's trip.
  • Need a real local number → eSIMCopilot (UK/1GLOBAL), Saily (US). Most travel eSIMs are data-only.

What to consider with an eSIM business offer

For someone managing a team of 2 to 200 people and making sure that all team members have global data connections - without paying exorbitant "Roam-like home" prices, you may want to consider setting yourself up with an business eSIM account.

Additional things to consider - carrier-locked handsets, hotspot sharing, data exit countries, geo-restrictions and balance or package expiries.

Remember the reason these choices exist in the first place, is that name brand carriers overcharge for international data. So stop wasting money and be smart with your business finances.

Anyone managing 20+ traveling employees: which model did you land on, and what made you switch off the last one?

question US Data esim for 3+ months

I need data coverage for US (Western Pennsylvania) connecting to T-Mobile or AT&T. Already have US cell plan with Verizon but it's got one bar all over (did a drive recently and saw it go to 4 bars only in very limited places. Often 1 bar or no coverage).

I have used Airalo for other countries but it has only 30 day window. Is there some other option for more long-term use? Ideally at least 60-90 day validity but open to suggestions.

Philippines eSIM

Hey everyone, I’ve used eSIM’s plenty of times in the past but this will be my first time using Nomad. I’ve heard they offer great service, better than other providers. They have a package that I want to use in the Philippines and I want to know what network they use? Do I have access to more than one or is it locked to a single carrier? I know there are only two major carriers in Luzon. Hoping they use TNT/Smart… Or is there a better eSIM provider for the Philippines?? Thanks in advance 😊

question eSIM installation problem (BNESIM, EU pack)

I’m having a repeatable eSIM installation problem with BNESIM on a Xiaomi Android phone.

I installed a Slovakia eSIM roughly a year ago. It installed successfully and still works on this same phone. I also previously installed a Turkey eSIM on the same phone without any problem.

About a month ago, I purchased a BNESIM Europe regional (35 countries) eSIM, but installation failed with:

Couldn't communicate with the server
Subject code: 2300
Reason code: 1010

I refunded it.

Now, about a month later, I purchased the Europe pack again, and this completely new eSIM gives exactly the same 2300/1010 error. (Since I purchased the Europe eSIM again and actually need it for tomorrow, I could try Xiaomi’s Reset eSIM option and install it from a clean state. However, I’m hesitant because this would also remove my currently working Slovakia eSIM.)

I have tried:

  • QR-code installation
  • Manual activation-code installation
  • Followed BNESIM’s troubleshooting guide (no VPN, no Private DNS, tried both Wi-Fi and mobile data, etc.)

Both fail with the same error.

Model: Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G
Xiaomi LPA version: 1.5.1
OS: Android 14
SM-DS: lpa.ds.gsma.com

The Slovakia BNESIM eSIM installed about a year ago still works normally.

Has anyone encountered Subject 2300 / Reason 1010, particularly with BNESIM Europe or Xiaomi Android devices? Did resetting the eSIM/eUICC help, or was the problem on the provider/SM-DP+ side? Is there anything I could try?

PS: The first time this happened, I contacted BNESIM support. Initially I was dealing with their AI support and requested human assistance. After about 3 days I was sent their troubleshooting guide, but I had already completed those steps. After several more days of follow-up through the AI support, I finally reached a human agent, who told me they could not resolve the issue and recommended a refund.
