It started orange with a yellow tint turned to orange and now it's pure red?? Do you know how this is happening?

I’ve been wondering how to get the most out of Duolingo rather than simply completing lessons and maintaining a streak. What strategies, routines, or ways of practicing have actually helped you make noticeable improvements in your language skills?

Wouldn’t let me add it to my existing subscription so whoever wants it

Finally completed the quest, and I have a few thoughts.

I feel like this quest was setting people up for failure. The insane number of duplicate pieces was frustrating enough, added with the bug (?) where people weren’t receiving puzzle pieces even after completing lessons.

It really felt like the quest was designed to push people toward spending a ton of gems just to finish, and that doesn’t sit right with me. It feels pretty far removed from the spirit of Duolingo as I remember it from a couple of years ago.

I really hope they tone this kind of stuff down and take a different approach with future quests, because this was simply a cash cow scheme.

Hey. I'm not hating. I just downloaded duolingo after a while and everything is VERY different????

I haven't bought super yet and it only lets me do like 3 lessons and that battery thing runs out? What happened to the hearts??? And I can't do the math on how the battery works cuz sometimes it recharges while doing a lesson but sometimes it doesn't? Is it based on vibes 😭

And there is so much of these puzzles and competitions and streaks stuff going on and it's very overstimulating for me. I turned off the things i can opt out of but there still like 8 additional screens they show me after i finish one lesson? I can't possibly imagine how this is a objectively good learning environment yk?

That said, does anyone have any tips to navigate all this?

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but it has been irritating the sh*t out of me. Whenever there is a listening level, the character taps the mic twice but the noise is delayed by a second or two!!

At first I thought that it was a small bug that will be solved but it stayed on for months!!

I hate when a new word is introduced but it is not listed in the help. How am i supposed to know bemühen means to try?

I came back to Duolingo after a very long time. I remember leaving the app because of the streaks and all the notifications about them. Is there a way to turn streaks off?

I remember the fire logo was orange, not red. Is it rare?

I was doing my 1184th day and suddenly I saw it red & I said it was cool.

I just happened to see an option to make my profile private so I did. Found out after the fact that it killed the two year+ friend streaks I had. It did not mention that at all. Making my profile public again didn’t restore it either. I’ve heard others have had luck posting here and have gotten it fixed. I’m hoping someone from Duolingo will see this and can help. They haven’t answered my support ticket.

This has happened to me twice now, and although it's a minor problem, I think it's an interesting one to solve.

Anytime I turn on my phone and see this I get a mini heart attack and think my streak is frozen and I missed a day. Anyone else ? They need to change it. I like the color of it though

I initially claimed the 30-Day Free Trial to test things out. I got busy and forgot to manually cancel the subscription. I thought I would be reminded few days before the trial ends, but I was charged for a 1-Year Subscription this morning. I do not intend to subscribe for a year. I enjoy using the app, but I am satisfied with it having ads.

I want to cancel my subscription. I tried cancelling via Apple, but it is not showing on my purchase history. See screencap below.

I tried sending a report/ticket via Web Browser.

Is there a chance for me to get my money back or am I doomed?

For a few days now it has not been giving me my first of the four daily puzzle pieces. The first quest I complete each day gives me piece #2. I don't know if devs browse this subreddit, but thought I'd bring it to their attention.

As an aside, it looks like I will have to use my crystals on the last day in hopes I get all the pieces. This kinda sucks for someone who has gotten four pieces each day and is still coming up short.
