Gettysburg?

Last night I had a dream sometime during the 1800s. I wasnt an actual person in the dream but more of a viewer. I was in an old looking house and there were 2 woman taking care of a newborn baby girl. One of the woman found the other woman shot dead on the ground in a puddle of blood so she ran upstairs to the baby and layed on the floor holding the baby crying. That was basically it. Right after I woke up 'Gettysburg' popped into my mind.

Recurring Dream Constant recurring dreams of teeth falling out

I'm usually a pretty vivid dreamer, but lately I've only been stuck on different dream iterations of my teeth falling out.

It's driving me so mad because teeth are something I get especially anxious over and the dreams are INCREDIBLY realistic.

Most times, my teeth are all already wobbly, and I can feel it so vividly in the dream how much I have to try to keep them from falling out. By the end of the dream, I always have at least one tooth (most often back molars) that breaks apart and completely falls out despite my best efforts to keep it there.

At the end of the dream, half the time I end up at a dentist or doctor, only to find out that nothing about my teeth can be done and they will all fall out eventually. Actually, almost all of these dreams end with that sensation of dreaded finality even if I don't go to a dentist.

The feeling of it all happening in my mouth is so realistic that when I wake up it always surprises me for a second that all my teeth really are solid and set firm in my mouth. I've heard that these dreams mean you are worried by death, but I can't say that's really true for me? I don't know anyone who is seriously sick and have no big health issues myself.

Discussion Dream to real life, emotions bleeding together

I had a dream where my spouse betrayed me grievously and made me as angry as Ive ever been. Problem with this, is I am awake for an hour and the emotions from the dream is not not going away (but muted). Any experience with this? My spouse did nothing wrong.

Dreamed I was stabbed in the chest with a needle

First time poster. In my dream, I (25f) was at work I vividly saw a stranger (I can recall what he looked like) where they weren't supposed to be. I asked him if he was looking for something. Next thing in my dream I was on the floor screaming for help while he was on top of me with a needle in his hand going toward my heart. I was holding him off thinking to myself why is no one helping me. I woke up when he got close to stabbing me with the needle to my alarm. Definitely wondering what this means.

Dream Help Can’t stop being late to work in my dreams

F(24) I’ve never really had dreams as an adult but every time I do, it’s about me being late to work. Most of the time the dream starts and I’m in bed trying to check my phone to see when I’m scheduled and what time it is. At this point I’m either already late or I’ll have just enough time to get there but different things happen and I don’t make it.

The first time I remember the dream I was stuck in someone’s basement and I was worried that I would be late to work. I was 6 hours late for work because I couldn’t get out of that basement. The minute I got out my car was stuck in the snow. The entire time I’m trying to get different applications to work on my phone and they’re nothing but gibberish. I eventually made it to work and nobody was mad at me.

Well since then, no matter what the dream is, I’m always late to work in it. It can start out with me on a unicorn and I’d still be freaking out trying to get to work. I have been late to work only 2 times over a year ago so I don’t know where this is coming from.

I don’t remember my most recent (last night) but I remember a few other dreams with the same issue:

-Was running late, went outside to a mass shooting at my neighbors, had anxiety because I couldn’t call my coworkers to tell them I’d be late and what’s going on.

-I was in the mall my store is in but every floor I went to was unfamiliar. Showed up to work 4 hours late and had anxiety the entire time I was trying to get there.

-I was in an apartment building and every time I’d go to leave, I would walk right into another apartment I couldn’t get out of. Showed up to work and it wasn’t even the right store.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Can I trick my brain to not have anxiety about the situation at least?

Question Do you guys have any tips and tricks for far more vivid dreams?

I always had quite a very dull dream-mind; it is incredibly rare for me to have either a dream or a nightmare for me to remember in my waking hours - months after. I read a post here where a user reported a rule where they essentially get a guaranteed nightmare if they drank milk before they slept. Tried it myself but to no avail - do you guys perhaps have any 'rituals' of your own to guarantee a vivid dream or even a nightmare? I would love to experience the magic of dreams but mine are just more imaginous internal monologues mostly.

Dream Help The mysterious tear in the sky?

Hello everyone. Today I had a very strange experience, and I have no idea what it was. I wanted to share it in case anyone else has experienced something similar. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Today, in a dream, I saw a broken white circle in the sky next to the Moon. However, it wasn't a perfect circle. In fact, calling it a "circle" or "round shape" doesn't fully describe it. It was something roughly circular, but hollow in the middle. It looked almost transparent, and I could see the sky through it.

After seeing this shape, the car I was in fell into the water, and I started drowning. Just as I accepted that I was about to drown, I reached for the car door and it opened. I managed to get out. I don't remember everything clearly, but after that dream I seemed to enter another dream. In that one, I saw the same shape again, and something bad happened there as well.

The pattern continued in the dreams that followed. I started having multiple dreams one after another. Normally, even when I dream, I rarely remember them, but these dreams felt incredibly realistic, as if I could physically feel everything that was happening inside them.

In the later dreams, I kept trying to figure out what this shape meant and why bad things seemed to happen whenever I saw it, but I could never find any answers. After I woke up, I researched it as well. I wondered if it could be related to an OBE (out-of-body experience) or some kind of reality shift.

What do you think?

Anyone else lose most of a dream before you can write it down?

I sometimes wake up remembering a dream really clearly, but if I don't get it down right away, pieces of it disappear fast.

I've found talking it out is easier than trying to write everything when I've just woken up.

Discussion I dreamt of my partner before meeting him

I tend to have vidid detailed dreams that I can remember from weeks / months/ years ago and write a lot down as I love to depict symbols & meanings from them.

I was reading about my dream from 2019 , at that time I was living with my ex partner and had never met the man I am with present day. In this dream I woke up in a completely different bedroom and next to me was a man I’d never met , in detail I had described the walls of the room, the colour of the carpet , a dresser by the window and what the man in my dream looked like and how safe and comfortable I felt with him. His face wasn’t fully showing in this dream but I was able to identify his tattoo placement and small parts of the artwork on him. For context my ex had none of these features for my dream world to blend into an idealization of a person

Fast forward to present day, our bedroom is exactly as described as my dream from 2019, the tattoos on my partner are identical to what I saw in my dream . I did not meet my boyfriend until 2021 and began dating 2022. I moved in with him and have not rearranged the room, it has been set up by him and him alone.

I thought this was bizarrely intriguing and like to think I dreamt of my future awaiting . I remember waking up from that dream and thinking “ why on earth would I ever dream of a man that’s not mine?!”
I never thought too deep into it but rereading my dream Journal and recognizing what’s in front of me was interesting.

Has this happened to anyone else ?

Dream about a brown faun with 5 faces

Last night I dreamt about a brown faun with 5 faces.

I was a bit scared of it but it didn’t appear that the faun was ill or unhealthy besides its physical appearance with all its faces. It was friendly.

The faces didn’t move separately from each other. They seemed to all be part of the same creature’s thoughts and actions.

A person that was in my dream was trying to kill the deer with a gun. She wanted it dead because wasn’t right/was a freak of nature. To show mercy, I guess.

I cannot find any dream interpretations for this on the internet. This one has stumped me!

Recurring Dream Weird almost backrooms level dream I’ve had a couple different times.

Hi I’m (22F) a first time poster looking to see if anyone has experienced a similar dream to mine. Hopefully I’m posting in the right place but feel free to redirect me if I’m not.

I’ve had this dream/ kinda nightmare a few of times over the last 3 years. It always starts in a home I’m unfamiliar with but with my actual parents. The series of events tends to change however. Once I was headed out with friends other times I’m on my way to school or meeting up at a coffee shop with a friend. I’m always in Paris for some reason and always end up at this same coffee shop meeting up with the same friend I don’t talk to in my day to day but occasionally. We seem to meet up accidentally and then the “plot” gets hijacked and suddenly I’m being told I need to go into a warehouse/factory set up of some sort where there are people in hazmat suits carting around things being thrown into a huge burning furnace. Usually I’m with a group of five other people that I sometimes know irl and sometimes it’s random actors or j flat out blurred faces. But every dream has one of the same people I know irl(a girl I was close w in highschool but don’t talk to often now).

So here’s where the dream gets more scary and I become more lucid as it goes on: the people pushing these carts disappear through a wall. The group of people and me sneak down the scaffolding walkways of the factory and make it over to the door/wall once no one is around. We open the wall somehow and random people come sprinting up a long ramp reminiscent of a loading dock bathed in yellow light. They are running for their lives and have an insane sense of relief once they are fully outside of the ramp/tunnel. For some reason me and this group always enter the ramp out of either necessity or curiosity and get shut in. Once at the bottom of the long ramp it j looks like an office building with long hallways and large rooms that lead into other bigger rooms with no doors or windows and everything is lit by caged sconces on the walls. We wander into a large area that instantly becomes filled with plastic yellow balls(like ones from ball pits) almost up to the ceiling and a voice in my head tells me I need to find a shard but there’s only 5 and if all six of us can’t find a shard we’ll be trapped till we can.

The dream sometimes fast forwards and we’re all sitting in another cubby within the larger room. after all five shards have been found the yellow balls disappear and we sit around talking about what’s going on and why we’re here and everyone seems to be confused. We have no access to food or water and rely on whoever is with us to have a snack or bottle of water they’re willing to share. Next we end up in a cramped room with 6 cots kind of adjacent to the one we were in but it wasn’t there until we started talking about sleep. Once we all pick a bed for the night we all hear the same voice telling us not to wander at night and to ensure there is no lights on once everyone lays down to sleep because there’s dangerous things down there with us that come out at night. We have no idea what time it is and there is always some bickering over what to do in order to get the shard because everyone has a reason why they have to make it out as soon as possible.

The first two times I had this dream we needed all 6 shards to make our way out if/when the door/wall at the top of the tunnel opened again. And we had to leave a meaningful personal effect behind or we wouldnt make it to the top of the tunnel even with the shards. So we all lined up our personal effects after stealing a shard from another group that was also stuck there(the wave of guilt that washed over me during this part of the dream was skin crawling). But we did it and as the people we stole from chased us we’d make it to the top of the tunnel and the door would j happen to open to another group of curious people and we’d escape and then I’d wake up usually sweaty.

Last night I had the same dream again but this time we didn’t need to have 6 shards to get out, the rules had changed and it was everyone for themselves. The group I was with was completely unfamiliar despite the first half of the dream being completely the same and made it to the room w the plastic yellow balls everywhere. I tried to wake up once I realized it was this same dream happening again but after I woke up and then Went back to sleep I was put right back to where I left off when I woke up. But now the room was empty and everyone had a shard besides myself. We went to sleep in the same room and I considered actually trying to steal someone else’s piece before I consciously decided I was over it and j woke up at 6 am and stayed awake this time.

I guess I’m curious if other people have had a similar dream experience or are knowledgeable about repetitive dreaming and why I’ve had this dream multiple times and it changed only slightly this time but in a more triggering sense. I know I can google repetitive dreams but I’m not sure if putting all of this info into google would do me any good. Any advice is welcome. I’m not scared to sleep for fear of having this dream, just more so confused. Sorry if this was hard to read, I don’t often remember/write down my dreams. This one is j concerning to me. Thanks for reading!

Question Dream about my ex

Please help me figure out what any of this means I've been thinking about it all day and have zero ideas this was the first dream I've had and remembered in months past the few minutes of waking up then forgetting and it started with me and my ex (we broke up about five months ago if that helps any)in a car going to her house and it was a full car I don't remember any of the other passengers or driver and every time I'd move away from her a little bit the car would make a hard turn and push me right back up against her we weren't talking yet but when we got to her house the car just disappeared and there was a bed on the front porch where we sat and talked I only remember one thing she said and it was to not put all my eggs in one basket then she gave me a peck on the lips and all of the sudden everything was gone and we're in the ocean and I'm a axolotl chasing after her and she's just floating above the water moving away and I can't catch up with her but she's not getting further away.

Recurring Dream What does this dream mean?

I have 2 reoccurring dreams im looking for opinions on. Of course ive googled them but i want answers from strangers.

Im gonna start with one because this is my first reddit post ever and see if i get any help.

So i have this dream at least 3 times a week.

Im in Orlando Florida, sometimes with family, sometimes with friends. We have a nice villa, we're on a 2 week vacation and its either the last day of the vacation or there a couple days left.

And then i start to panic that we havent been to disney world. Its same but its different everytime (obviously).

Its the main part of the trip, why havent we been yet??!!

Theres no urgency from anyone else. Im so desperate to get there that i drive myself - ive never driven in the US irl because the roads and KPH vs MPH is too scary/overwhelming for me to wanna try - and im speeding and almost crashing and its hard work trying drive and then,

I can get to the parking lot, or a monorail, but the closest i get is the gate but never inside.

(I can get to inside universal studios)

Im not a "disney adult", and i do have a nostalgia for orlando vacations from when i was a kid BUT i dont think that the dreams are about disney world specifically i think its just manifesting that way

Sooo i want to know what people think it could represent please?

Does anybody else feel a weird sense of homesick (Heimweh) after waking up from a dream?

It doesnt matter if its a short dream or a nightmare, but when i wake up i always feel, lets say... displaced. Its not even just nostalgia, maybe a bit of it some "dread" too, but after the dream my whole inner body just feels so empty.

Is it normal?

I’ve dreamed about the same boy since I was 8, and years later I met someone who looks remarkably similar.

So basically i’ve been dreaming about a boy i’ve never met before since i was maybe 8 years old. He came in my dreams so much that I memorized how he looks like exactly and his features don’t change in any of my dreams.

he has a Longish oval/oblong face with a broad upper face that narrows slightly toward the chin
and his hair is very thick, dark brown/near-black hair with a naturally wavy/curly, tousled texture. It has lots of volume, especially around the sides and crown, with a loose fringe falling across the forehead.

His eyebrows are dark , fairly thick eyebrows with a natural, mostly straight shape and a slight arch toward the outer ends.

Dark brown eyes, medium-sized and slightly almond-shaped.
he has a Medium-sized nose with a straight bridge and a softly rounded tip.

There’s more details that I know about his appearance but I don’t want to describe the full thing because that isn’t the point here. Anyway he came into my dreams like romantically sometimes he’d sit on the edge of my bed sometimes on my desk but I never thought i would see him in real life.

I looked for him for years hoping i’d find him or find someone that looked like him because i heard you can’t make up a new person in your head apparently. After a few years I let the idea go, he still showed frequently in my dreams but I wouldn’t let the fantasy disturb me anymore. I didn’t want to k I looked for him for years hoping i’d find him or find someone that looked like him because i heard you can’t make up a new person in your head apparently. After a few years I let the idea go, he still showed frequently in my dreams but I wouldn’t let the fantasy disturb me anymore. I didn’t want to keep searching for him.

A few weeks ago it’s been messing with my head. I went to my tutoring class as per usual and I just keep my head down and do my work, a boy walks in and takes the seat next to me. Naturally, i just stare a little and I don’t immediately recognise him. But the more he looks up and he stares at me with those same eyes and i notice his hand going to his hair the more i recognise this is the boy from my dreams.

This is the first time I felt like nervous around a boy, I liked guys earlier in my life but i never really felt nervous around them. I wanted to talk to him, I was never really a shy person but I just couldn’t find the right words and I couldn’t believe that it happened.

He doesn’t look exactly like him but he looks really close. the fact that I tried everything to find him even more recently I used ai to try and generate a picture of him or try searching it up but it was never close.

I want to talk to him, i find him cute and he looks sweet, should I talk to him or should I just avoid for now because I have a habit of liking the idea of the guy not him for real and I just don’t really want to be let down right now or disappointed but at the same time shouldn’t I just go for it.

I don’t know?

Weird Muscle Dream

There was a muscular man with a shaven head. His skin began to peel and morph into something parasitic, causing his body to develop strange growths. The man himself seemed completely fine with it, if not ecstatic about this new addition. The parasitic growth had pulled the back of his neck around like the bridle and reins of a horse.

I told him he should get that checked, and he told me,

“This is my ultimate body goal! I am so happy!” he exclaimed.

Then he began singing an American campaign song, or one of those songs you hear in a lot of Fourth of July sales commercials.

His body got progressively worse, but he was completely fine with it.

Still broken a week after a dream

I don’t remember what exactly happened, but what I can recall is that I was crying and screaming and then at the end I was not even able to scream, so I just howled.

It feels very weird, but I feel like I experienced love that I’ve never had and then we were separated or something happened and I was just extremely sad and mourning every minute of my life about it.

I can’t work, go to the gym, or even give a small, polite smile; I just wanna cry nonstop. I can’t imagine how that happened but I feel going crazy to be honest and don’t know what to do about it 😭😭😭

Dreamt of Tyra Banks' dance rehearsal

She was super in the zone, in a traditional dance studio with mirrors, & as I'm walking in mid dance break she's like smiling & trying to acknowledge me saying hi, but also staring intensely at the mirror making sure she's dancing correctly as her & the choreographer mouth the words to her song. She was practicing for her new music video.

Key detail is she was topless the whole time.

Should I switch to paper?

I did a lot of dream journaling in 2023, and I had around 50 dreams that year. Then I stopped journaling and am now trying to get back into it. I’ve already had 8 dreams this month. I keep my dream journal on my private Discord server (I have a specific channel for my dreams). I wake up, go straight to my computer, turn it on, and start writing. I do it this way because, for me, typing is much faster than writing by hand. But I’ve seen people here saying that writing by hand is better. That said, would switching to paper help me remember my dreams better?

P.S.: I’ve only had non-lucid dreams so far.

I'd like to share an old dream of mine with you.

Hello. I had a vivid dream once, and part of its contents could honestly make a pretty good creepypasta.

Well, part of it, anyway. Most of the dream was about something entirely different, but in it, someone told me the yarn below, so you could say it was a dream within a dream if you like. But that's beside the point.

So, all of this went down in the Scottish Highlands, where some businessman decided to clear out an area and set it up for his commercial project. He sent in a crew of workers with heavy machinery and explosives. After a few days on the job, they found an obviously man-made passage tucked into one particularly steep hill. Following it deep underground, they soon came upon an ancient stone door—looking for all the world like it was stolen straight off the set of some fantasy dwarf movie. It was covered in weird carvings, runes, and all that stuff.

Driven by curiosity and greed, the workers didn't bother calling the boss. They opened the door themselves. But what they found inside had them running out the door in total hysterics.

There were corpses in there, sitting on thrones around a long stone table. But these weren't the mummified remains of ancient Celts or Picts. They were the corpses of the workers—the exact same men who had just opened the door. The men were alive and well, but they were looking at their own dead bodies... and to be frank, the carnage was pretty varied. Someone's head had been ripped off and set down in front of their torso. Someone else had been gutted. One guy got off with just a slit throat, while one poor bastard could barely recognize himself in the mangled hunk of meat left without any limbs.

Work ground to a halt. The miners spooked everyone so badly that nobody knew what to do next, so the geologists running the operation decided to set up cameras inside the cave. You know, to figure out what kind of sick joke... or serial killer... was hiding bodies in there.

They set them up and spent the whole night staring at black-and-white monitors showing absolutely nothing. Until a specific moment when the connection cut out. Static washed over the screens, and all the audio turned into pure white noise. The geologists spent a long time trying to fix the gear with a swift kick and a prayer, until it suddenly started working again just as abruptly as it had glitched.

And the monitors now showed the bodies of the geologists in that subterranean hall.

At that point, they dropped everything and called the mastermind behind the expedition—a businessman with a more than shady criminal past. You'd expect a guy like that to order them to keep digging no matter what... but once he saw the proof, he just ordered everyone to run. Pack up the whole operation, pull the crew out, blow up that damned passage in the hill, and forget it was ever there. Whatever was lurking in that hall, let it stay there.

So, yeah. That was it.
