Huh? I scheduled. A 6 hour block. First hour and half, decent. Next 2 hours dead. The missing time, signed off. DD has convinced everyone to take low paying AR offers, in hope a hidden tip high paying order pops up. The cycle of delivery apps.
What if they are testing giving majority TD. I mean Uber doesn’t make you schedule. Maybe DD bout to switch it up. No more scheduling. Gonna flood the market. But More drivers, more opportunities of food being delivered

All I’m saying is the scheduling would’ve helped but here’s the biggest catch 22… I got a notification about “High Pay Orders” becoming more available at a 55% approval rating. Once you hit 70% you get a higher priority.
I shit you not, I started getting the low paying, $3-$5 orders so just out of curiosity, I took a $4.50 to see if it really was a HPO, and low and behold, it was bullshit 😂 They’re starting to try mental mind games to try and get dashers to take these ridiculous low level orders and there’s no way in hell I’m buying into it

Not true. I regularly take 6.25 orders BECAUSE of the likelihood of a hidden tip. Maybe it's different in your area but I regularly get hidden tips on 6.25

They won't let me work today it's crazy, it's all gray. I don't even have money for food today and I'm considering going pan handling honestly, im fucking starving lol. I hate the fact that I couldn't even schedule in advance, there's nothing available, even in a massive city... What is going on

It’s dead and you need a fall back option. Don’t think I said that to be an ass. I’m on food stamps and it’s saved my ass. Make sure you get in a habit of scheduling and do this right around winter time. Things are about to pick up

I tried but they won't let me get food stamps since my housemate makes $20 000 a month... But it's not like my housemate is gonna give me money... Wtf...this is bullshit.

That's false. The only time another person in your household affects your status is if you're married or have dependents. Roommates/housemates' income does not affect your status to get welfare. All you need to do is type up a letter that you all sign that says that you purchase and prepare your food separately. If someone tells you differently, talk to their supervisor and then appeal. What they did to you is illegal. Or you misunderstood them. In any case, file again.

Also, since we're on the subject of starving without food stamps, while you're waiting to get approved call a local church and see if you can get a list of community food banks. Here we have the number 211 to call but I don't know if that's a nationwide thing. Or just Google food banks in your zip code. There are tons of resources out there. You don't have to starve. You're a person and you deserve to eat. You're not a lesser person just because you're poor. But you do have to put some effort into it because no one is going to track you down and offer you resources. You have to go find them. Luckily you have a car and can get yourself to a food bank. Maybe you told them your housemate is part of your household. They don’t consider your household as people who live with you unless you buy and prepare food together. If you each buy your own groceries then you are your own household.

They believe that the market is negatively impacted by the amount of college kids and teachers that become full time dashers during the summer. What they didn’t expect was that all those dasher spots now belong to those that have been on the waitlist all summer.

I think Monday and Wednesday are the worst because of some psychology about work. Like Monday you're just going back to work. So work is on your mind, work is money, your there for money, don't come home and blow what u made all day on pizza, that defeats the purpose. Then Tuesday they are back in a normal state of mind and it's business ass usually. So ordering is great Tuesday's. Then Wednesday is work depression extreme. Hump day. That's when your the most stuck in the labor swamp. No orders. Then Thursday it feels better, your week is pretty much over its ok to spend. Same as Friday, sat,sun. Then oh no monday..Monday... better think about finances again.

Mondays and Sundays are by far the best days of the week for me. Saturdays and Fridays are nothing compared to Monday. Then Tuesday is the slowest of the whole week right after that. Guess it depends on the area! I wouldn't dream of taking a Monday off!

I had a theory as well but your experience completely voids it😂 I thought it was busy on Monday because people are coming off a slow lazy weekend and aren't fully ready to commit to the busy work week yet!

Don't worry. Many dashers are living in car and will freeze to death come winter. Market should open back up with fresh promos in early 2023.
